With the personal we have right now I think a 4-3 would work perfectly. Just imagine Dumervill, Williams, Jernigan/Davis and Suggs on our D-line. Mosley, Brown, and Orr at the linebackers. They and young ,fast and can fly around making tackles like the 2000 LB core did. Running the 4-3 keeps those guys clean to attack. 3-4 requires special LBS. Yes, Suggs and Dumervill can hold there own. But the ILB are not the best block shedders. Jernigan will be a pro-bowler hands down in a 4-3 scheme. He will get a lot of 1 on 1 opportunities with Suggs, dumervill coming off the edge and Williams getting double team. This will also help our secondary. Running a cover 3 will help Jimmy Smith a ton. He's not the corner we hoped him to be but can look pretty good in a cover 3. His size and having 1 assignment of not letting anyone get behind would be better than him trying to mirror someone. Once a receiver gives a second move it's over for him. Will Hill in the box, Hargreaves at the other corner at Daniel Thompson from Boise state at FS. Top 5 defense again!!
