We probably can't afford Osemele.
Can we dump Monroes salary? not that I'm advocating it, just seeing if it's a viable option.
He doesn't have a major injury history, he had some knee problems in college but they cleared up. A few more weeks on the offseason will help him heal up.
that's not really accurate, going to the weight room doesn't mean he wants to put on more muscle.
There are other forms of weight training meant to help with explosion.
Yes and muscle maturity, muscular endurance, muscular strength etc... weight training isn't just for hypertrophy.
That is hilarious. Another year in the weight room? How does that help a running backs speed and quickness to the next level. You saw what happened to Ray Rice after another year in the weight room. Allen is just not that good plain and simple. He is not the next Matt Forte. I understand wanting a spark for this team but not on the shoulders of Buck Allen. Watch what happens when he plays against a real defensive team like the Seahawks. I can tell you for sure. Less that 50 yards from scrimmage for him and that's being kind. I can absolutely guarantee that prediction!
You're implying that running backs don't spend time in the weight room for fear of gaining weight.
Buck seems to me like a typical #3 back, but I don't think he's reached physical maturity and could make a big jump with another year in the weight room.
Could we ever see preemptive knee surgery for football (or basketball) players, kind of similar to how high school baseball players have Tommy John surgery to strengthen the elbow joint?
I don't know how practical it would be but in theory reinforcing the knee joint (while they redshirt) would prevent a lot of season derailing knee injuries.
Even when he wasn't banged up his play was marginal...average perhaps.
The missed time pretty much seals the deal.
We have so many needs I'm not sure we can devote resources to Left Tackle.
As far as Oz screwing up, some things speak for themselves. He's definitely slumping late in his career, but he can turn it around right?
I don't put too much stock into Oz being in a slump or whatever, luck plays into selections and at the end of the day the player still has to stay healthy and progress/fit into the system.
I'm thinking he could slide if GM's downgrade him on pure athleticism.
you wouldnt be happy with that?
I'd be happy with another Suggs, but not at the cost of tanking even if the season is lost.
Stitches
Just kidding
Shaq Lawson
In two years we're gonna see all the prospects named after Kobe.
I'm glad we didn't get into the #suckforbosa sweepstakes, I think he'll be the next Suggs not Watt.
Great game so far, my only issue is the sometimes lazy level design.
My concern is we have a few guys in key positions who cannot seem to shake the injury bug. Timmy Jernigan is an example of pro bowl type talent who is always banged up, it affects his consistency and long term prospects.
Yep.We can't go into next season with this type of wr corps. In addition to your point,if you cant get a top 5 wr,nothing wrong with a mix of wrs outside the top 5 and good wr from the draft.
I think that's the tricky part, WR has the lowest success rate and we've never developed a 1st round pick into a #1 receiver. That doesn't mean it won't happen just that for whatever reason we suck when it comes to WR.
Been watching Luther lately and it's definitely turned into one of my favorites. It's a lot different and better than the usual detective drama. If you like ( profanity deleted) and/or good detective shows, like Sherlock, I'd recommend it.
Luthor is incredible, better than the usual crime procedurals.
A good FS would make a bad secondary look better and obviously Kendrick Lewis isn't doing that.
Was he overrated? I guess if you're a QB getting stared down by Megawatt you might pay less attention to the secondary.
I miss the heart and passion that Ray brought to the team.
Before we knock old receivers just remember the alternative is a corps made up of practice squad/camp bodies like the one we have now. Brandon Marshall and Andre Johnson were available for peanuts a few months ago.
Top 5 studs don't just fall out of trees so if you don't have one you sign someone who used to be, we've had modest success doing this for years, Mase, Boldin, Smith etc.
I don't like the idea of calling him a bust halfway through his rookie season, Ronald Darby is probably the only player selected after Perriman who has made an impact so far but I don't think he was on our radar.
I don't see how drafting another WR only because we need one is a good idea. I'd would think it's better to grab the best player available.
Don't we always draft best available? we have a lot of needs so projecting one position doesn't seem realistic. Maybe there will be another situation like last offseason when Brandon Marshall and Andre Johnson were available, people might shake their heads at more old receivers but we get a lot more out of unwanted veterans than the endless line of camp bodies we try to develop.
I think we have too much of a talent drought to make a deep playoff push, even if Flacco recovers his SB postseason form.
How much does he weigh? he doesn't look like he can two gap.
(Hey guys, I wanted to put my first post on a topic that will stay on the front page
)
Every time I get mad at Flacco I'm reminded of 20+ starters who are a lot worse, so he's not Brady we've still got it good.

For what it's worth I think our current corps can be serviceable if our oline looks good next season.
