if we drafted them what guarantee do you have they would have turned out good here?
just because a players does good on 1 team does not mean they would do good here or anywhere else.
to many factors play are role to guarantee success.
there is really no telling that they would have developped here like in other places.
You're just the resident devil's advocate aren't ya?
Funny thing is. I saw a graphic illustrating that Kaepernick and Cam Newtons stats are mirroring each other this season. It says One is in the MVP hunt, the other is on the bench. Kaepernick has been sacked twice as much as Newton has though.
Because Kaep doesn't get the ball out in time and locks in on one WR while Cam has the football IQ to overcome this.
People who leave the Ravens generally do not do well at all. Jones is simply another one of those people.
Good point. I've always wondered why that is, especially on defense.
Back to the bargain bin for some bandaids.
Sign Jacoby pleaseeeeee
Well if he comes back after the bye and starts the remaining eight games, he'll need at least 125 yards each game to finish with 1,000 lol. I have faith in BP ![]()
I don't know what to say here. Calvin Johnson is past his prime? I don't know if he is or isn't, but people are fickle and said the same about Larry Fitz and he's killing it in Arizona at the moment. People said the same about Steve Smith Sr.
Just because a guy isn't lighting the scoreboard up doesn't mean he's washed up and done.
That said, I don't see how we can afford him.
He could be a cut candidate in 2017 unless the Lions want to trade him this coming up offseason and he agrees to a restructure. Word on the street was he could've been had for a 2nd round pick today. I would probably die from excitement if we could pair him up with Flacco.
I love it. I absolutely despise San Francisco sports fans especially 49er fans. They're so ignorant that it's almost unbelievable.
Super Bowl!
I'd take JJ over Brown anyday lol
I feel the same way
Being that it's past 4pm and no story/post about trades or additions, does that mean we didn't sign anyone?
As far as the bye: Get healthy and go NFC
We didn't trade for anyone but we can still sign a WR that we worked out today. Wouldn't mind having Jacoby Jones back in all honesty.
I wonder how Hakeem's workout went. Does anyone have any updates?
solid argument you got there.
you think this is madden where you can turn off the cap orso?
Oh please. The Ravens are excellent with managing cap space. If they wanted a guy they will make it happen. It doesn't have to be a superstar but it needs to be a playmaker unlike the guys we have now. Ozzie has invested in an oft-injured LT, an oft-injured TE and a RB who should've taken the stairs. I know hindsight is 20/20 but he's neglected the WR position in free agency for a while now. I just want some playmakers is all or some guys that can actually get seperation and catch the ball.
we might be cheap at WR but we are far from cheap on offense.
we actually spend more of the cap on offense then on defense.
if you really want to pick a position we are cheap at its dline where we are dead last in spending.
there are actually 6 teams who spend less on WRs then us.
saints, panthers , jags, dolphins , texans and chiefs all have less money tied in WRs.
BTW it has nothing to do with being cheap though.
there is a salary cap and there is only so much you are allowed to spend...
Ozzie is cheap with his WR's. He goes to the bargain bin for bandaids.
Lol when did I ever say that?
I'm just saying that the Playoffs are out of reach. It's not a loser mentality, it's realism. You need a reality check. Bringing in 1 receiver is not going to magically spark the Ravens to go on an 8 game winning streak..which may not even be enough anyway.
Reality is that this team does not have enough HEALTHY talent to go on that sort of run.
Second, Whatever you said about Clayton and Figurs is hogwash..I never stated that I supported them at all.
Third, my advice to you is to calm down just a tad, and start thinking with your brain, not your heart.. I would love nothing more than to see the Ravens make another January run..but it's not happening. .and that's OK.
It's OK because it will afford the organization a chance to draft some more quality talent to go with players returning next season. .as well as a chance to evaluate what they've got ie..do they send Brown or Aiken packing?ect..
They will be back in full effect next season. So just enjoy it for what it's worth.
Therapy session over. I'll send you a bill.
Settle down there bud. I don't want a WR rental for the rest of the season and then he's gone. I'm thinking about the future as well because if SSS retires, we'll have scrubs at WR while BP is an unknown at the NFL level. Brown and Aiken NEED to be gone. I'm also thinking of Flacco as well because if his receivers can't get open or have the dropsies, it's going to be a long season for him. Don't quit your day job and save your bill. Moving on.
we are far from cheap on offense.
its just they decided to spend most on the QB and o-line and also decided to pay the RB as well.
would you rather have no o-line, no qb, no rb and a couple of star receivers?
You can't tell me we're not cheap when Aiken and Marlon come into the season as the number three and four, respectively.
The stats don't reflect the fact that he was in a high powered throwing offense playing a ton of snaps. It might look alright on paper, but it was not a good year for him. That production is not good considering how much he played.
But he still had Hilton, Wayne and Moncrief playing too. I know he's been injured but there's no way he still can't be better than Marlon and Aiken. No way.
Stop being cheap on offense, Ozzie. Give Flacco some weapons.
I'd use was instead of is. All of his knee and leg injuries have sapped what explosion he had. He's a completely different player nowadays, and it's not a very good one.
He still is though. In 2014, Nicks had 405 yards and 4 TD's compared to Aiken's 267 yards and 3 TD's and Marlon's 255 yards and 0 TD's. That's only a difference of 117 yards between Nicks by himself and Aiken and Marlon combined and he still had one more touchdown than both of them. Nicks also has sure hands and can be a good possession WR for us with BP and Givens stretching the field. Only reason why Marlon and Aiken are still on the team is because we're cheap on offense. They should be on some teams practice squad.
Hakeem is better than Aiken and Marlon combined. I've always liked him. Would be a great signing.
Yeah but these boards are interested in every single FA, so it's not so strange
Except Weddle isn't a free agent and FS happens to be a need.
San Diego is shopping Weddle and there's four teams interested. Wonder if we're one of them.
I've said this tons of times, but I can't help it, I love Mike Neal for this team. I love his fit. We have such a need at pass rusher and he can rush the passer from basically anywhere. He's similar McPhee, he started out as a Dlinemen and moved to OLB. I don't know if Greenbay will resign him, but he would bring in such needed help.
I'd watch out for Paul Kruger, he hasn't been lights out since coming to Cleveland on that hefty deal, their patience could be running out. I could see us re-upping with Kruger. I think there's a good chance he gets cut, he also feels "Mis-used" according to some report or something he said himself. He's also surrounded by trade rumors.
Another guy could be Tamba Hali, but he's a UFA, I don't know if we'd part with a comp pick for him and I wouldn't play Tug-of-War for him either with another team.
Ahmad Brooks could be considered, but we have a no-tolerance policy so that one is a toss up.
A wild card for me is Cameron Wake. He suffered an Achilles tendon injury at age 33, that's typically not good news. Sad to hear because he returned to his dominant self. Miami could be in deep cap trouble and 2016 is when Ndomokung Suh's cap hit kicks in and goodness is it a behemoth! Its possible Wake can take the fall. They seem stuck with Brent Grimes, and I don't see them cutting Branden Albert or Reshard Jones. Plus they could be interested in keeping Olivier Vernon.
Thanks for the info! Haven't kept up with defensive free agents or cut possibilities since I'm so fixated on this offense lol.
Anyone else stop playing Madden yet? I'll play it once in a while but mostly spend my time playing NBA2K16 and MyGM. Madden is too broken for me to keep playing. I hear the next patch that comes out may cause gamers to restart their CFM once again like the last patches did.
All I play is Madden and Halo 5 since I quit Destiny. If anyone has an Xbox One and has Madden 16, hit me up for my tag so we can play!

What does "week to week" even mean and why can't we get a clear timetable for a return and why hasn't BP talked to the media and how does Harbaugh know only as much as the fans do? So many questions.
