Or Joe takes a shot to the knee in primetime and even though we eke out a win we lose a spot in the playoffs because we lose to the Bengals in the last week because Joe's on one leg for the whole game.

That'd be a horrible way to end a season.

Any situation where we don't make the playoffs will be horrible after all the talent we've added and this is more than likely Steve's last season

It really isn't. I'm a big Flacco fan myself, but I know he can be REALLY erratic. I just accept it for what it is and just hope the FO can build an offense around him that'll be similar to 2014 when it was a top 10 scoring offense.

But that was when he had Kubiak. We won't find another like him :( I really hate Denver with a passion.

They showed blitz though. Flacco has always struggled with both blitz recognition and picking apart zone. I think they took a page out of Marvin Lewis' book and looked back at all the horrific games Joe has played vs the cincinatti defense. They found the team Joe has struggled with the most and replicated them and it worked to perfection

Now how is this acceptable for a 31 year old, 9th year veteran QB?

To be fair, reality is if we win 3 in a row we are in the playoffs.  It's definitely possible, however not likely.  I don't think we can go into Pitt and win, so I think we get a terrible Christmas present

Now if we don't do that, our season is all but over, correct? What a failure it will be if we win these next weeks only to lose to the Bengals because they want to spoil our party. Unfortunately, I could see it happening.

How long is Jimmy expected to miss? Haven't seen anything

He didn't practice today so he probably won't play on Sunday. Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised to see him shut down for the season to let him get healthy for the P word. I have enough confidence in Tavon to have him contain Green and Brown

    Signed through 2019.

He will 100% be here next year.

Its kind of hard to justify moving on from pretty much the only defensive player on the roster who, when he isn't in the lineup, the defense almost entirely collapses.

Maybe that would happen if Weddle were to get hurt, but this unit overall is probably pretty average when Jimmy isn't on the field.

Those aren't the kind of players you "move on" from.

Yup. We'd be the laughing stock of the NFL if we cut Jimmy. The only person that needs to be blamed in a situation like this is Ozzie because he sticks to bargain bin signings at Corner with the likes of Powers and Shareece. You can never have enough good Corners

He made Torrey Smith better, that's become evident. Also made Jacoby Jones better. Mike Wallace has revived his career here and Steve Smith has excelled with Flacco better than he did with Newton. I agree he's not Rodgers, I'm not crowning Big Ben however, he is overrated, I'll take Joe over Ben any day.

    Flacco homer of the day!!

It's easy to complete passes when you're only throwing 1-2 yards. Flacco's higher-than-normal completion rate this season is misleading because most of his throws are easy lobs behind the LOS.

What was with that? That killed us towards the end. He's not making audibles and he's getting too worried about the protection like he has all season. He's not being patient like he's been through the years

And just to prove your point, here is a thread starting post from mid-December 2012:

"This brand of football we are putting on the field lately is pretty bad to watch, the word is PUTRID. Mistakes all over the place. I have to look at the top for the undiscipline that keep costing us games.
    In a word, Playoffs? How?"

It's déjà vu all over again. I still have faith. Let's get on a 7 game win streak

For people who want to get mad at the fact we lost to the Patriots in Gillette and had our D ripped to shreds...two things...

1.) Did you see what Aaron Rodgers did to Seattle's defense? Things like this can happen. There's nothing wrong with losing to an All-Time great QB on the road.

2.) New England is just really good. Best way to help your defense out is to keep your offense on the field longer, we did not do that.

To your second point, we actually did lol. Look at the T.O.P. and we won it by about a minute. Probably only because of their two turnovers and Brady's dagger to Hogan. Not saying I disagree with you at all, but I was just suprised when I saw that this morning.

Only reason why he's the best coach because of Tom Brady. Belichick was a bad coach when he was with the Browns. And he was a bad coach when Drew Bledsoe was QB

I'd actually argue this the other way around and say Brady is a system QB and a product OF Billy Boy. Look at how many QB's enter this system and succeed

Thanks for adding some clarity to the injury uncertainty surrounding the team going into the final stretch.

We have managed to lose to all three of the NFC East teams we've played so far and made all their QBs look better than Flacco performed in the process.

It may not be good idea to take this game for granted coming off a difficult loss, short week, and looking ahead to the squealers, perfect scenario for a trap game

All three of those NFC teams have solid defenses, but still, you take away CJ's fumble in the end zone, Jimmy Smith not being concussed and (I have no exuse for the Cowboys game, they're just better than us) we have a real chance of being 2-1 against them. Flacco doesn't play against the opposing QB so it's really a nonsensical point to make. I've just never heard the Eagles called the "beagles" before. Sheesh. I'm not sure about the injuries, though visiting our homepage or Rotoworld.com may shed some light. We aren't losing to Philly. Write that down and come back to me on Sunday evening. Even if Jimmy is out.
