Its funny watching people criticize the GM for not drafting great players. What do they know about evaluating talent coming out of college? It will never be an exact science; you nail some good ones and miss on others. Occasionally you draft a future super star. The narrative that the Ravens haven't drafted well as of late is completely bogus. Timmy Jernigan and CJ Mosley are projected long term stars at their positions. Maxx Williams, Nick Boyle and Crocket Gillmore are consistently improving and have made plays at TE. Brandon Williams is already one of the best DT's in the league. Ricky Wagner was extremely good last year as a rookie, while Z'Darious Smith and Carl Davis have shown the potential to grow into impact players. Who knows how good Buck Allen might be as he continues to develop. And Kyle Jusczyk has been highly productive as a pass catching fullback. So what if top picks Matt Elam and Arthur Brown haven't panned out. Move on and work on the many talents you do have. Its time for Ravens fans to stop whining and pull up the big boy pants. Bad season's are part of the deal and the Ravens are not far away from having a winning record. Embrace the one losing season and pull for your team. But trying to find errors in drafting talent is futile and what every fan of every team can complain about. Even the winning ones.

There is a downside to 'investing' in a free agent, even if he is a proven talent. Quality players in free agency eat up a lot of cap space. Its pretty common for wide outs who have been successful for other teams to suddenly flake out on the new one. There is serious risk involved. The Ravens have handled the receiver position well under Ozzie; finding decent players on reasonable deals. The more pressing need for this team in the off season is the pass rush.

Huh? What about the Players the Ravens have scored on? CJ Mosely and Timmy Jernigan have star potential. Matt Williams has a chance to evolve into a really solid tight end. Perriman has his entire career ahead of him and who knows what he could develop into. Has plenty of potential but there is no way to project a player who is prone to injury. Sure, Arthur Brown and Elam haven't done anything, but what about other players chosen and in that draft. Ricky Wagner was one of the highest rated right tackles in the league last year and Brandon Williams is a flat out stud at DT. Two first round talents at their respective position to make up for the Elam and Brown misses. And what about Kyle Juscyzk who is just a good all around football player himself? Ozzie and the Ravens have a clear history of success in the draft and continue to showcase it. Whining about players not panning out is pointless. Not every player chosen high or low in the draft will become superstars; that will always be the case. But to create an argument that the Ravens don't drat well is simply absurd.
