  1. Boldin is currently a FA looking for work and not finding any. At his age he was going to decline and the Ravens gambled it would happen sooner rather than later. Torrey Smith move shouldn't be questioned. He signed a HUGE deal in SF and flamed out badly. That was a no brainer move. Ngata? Do you know what Ngata did with his new fat contract? Sat on it on the DL and is now fighting for a starting spot in a defensive rotation. We got the best years out of Ngata and he was showing signs of braking down, plus the PED suspension in his last season with us. That was a smart move. Pollard had one last decent season with the Titans, then got hurt and missed most of last year, then he was cut and he's still looking for work. Also has a reputation of being a locker room problem. Ihedigbo had a great 2014, but then flamed out in 2015 and lost his starting job, then got cut and he's currently looking for a job. I think you should do a little research on these things before you make a comment like this. It is always better to get rid of somebody a year too soon than a year too late. In every single one of these moves, the Ravens were on the right side of them. In Oz We Trust.
  2. If you are the Rams... why trade up to #1 to get Goff? Why wouldn't you just trade to like the #3-6 range for a cheaper price? Everybody knows the Browns like Wentz more than Goff... so if you're the Rams, the only team you have to get ahead of is likely SF. I don't think the "hometown kid" thing means anything at all anyway. I think they like Wentz better and will take him. First of all, if you're going to do something, it's worth doing right. Maybe the Rams tried to trade with SD and Dallas, but no one wanted to bite. Maybe the price of moving up to three wasn't much different than moving up to one. Nobody knows, but I do know one thing. If you want the guarantee of getting the player you desire, there is only one draft spot where that is secure. While most analyst like Wentz better than Goff, I haven't seen any indication that Jackson likes Wentz better than Goff. The Browns speak highly of both players, brought both in for interviews and attended pro days. If you're referring to the hand size argument, I don't think that will play a big role. Sure, Wentz has the larger hand size, but he also holds the football like a loaf of bread (one-handed scanning the field).
  3. Perhaps. May change nothing though, since Cleveland won't be getting Wentz and they may choose not to take a QB at #2. If they don't, and nobody else does, it changes basically nothing for the Ravens. Ok, ye with little faith. Highly doubt it. Either Goff or Wentz is an upgrade from RGIII. I think they would happily take either guy. However, if the Browns only like one guy and that guy (Wentz or Goff) is selected by the Rams, they will most likely trade out of that position and gather picks. Or, if the Brown's do bypass a QB at two, I think that will only start a situation where teams such as the Eagles and 49ers will be looking to move up to three. Although they may be able to get the QB they want at 7 or 8, you don't want to take the chance of Dallas grabbing your guy at four. Either way, I believe it leaves the door open for us to get more options at 6.
  4. Even though it is off topic, thank you Rams for trading for the #1 pick. Our odds of grabbing one of the playmakers we want in the first round just increased significantly.
  5. I was thinking the same. Seems like people have forgotten we have parted ways with D. Smith and COURTNEY UPSHAW. Even though D.Smith was ok at best, I still dont see anyone on our roster that can replace them. If anyone on here says we have somebody currently who can fill the shoes or be a better replacement than D.Smith is lying and should be banned from NFL talk. Go talk about soccer or tennis. I get where you are coming from. We definitely could use an upgrade at inside linebacker, but honestly, the powers that be believe we do have an option on our roster who can fill Smith's shoes. I don't think Ozzie and Eric would have cut him without believing we had at least a comparable option available on the roster, in case we do not get the ILB we want in the draft. Let's not forget, Smith did see a drop in the number of snaps last year. There were times when we brought in Orr on passing downs, because he was the better option. Also, the idea of us moving someone from safety to ILB could have also sparked his release. If we don't get the ILB we want in the draft or a late pickup in free agency, I believe we may be content on going into the season playing with three "safeties" on the field, one of which takes up a linebacker position.
  6. I hope we don't end up with Stanley. That would mean the top of the board did not go our way at all...
  7. Hard to say at this point. I think we all need to remember that its not simply about getting A QB. Its about getting THE QB, and with a pick that high, he better be very good. By just about anybodies standards, this isn't a great class for QBs, and if teams aren't in love with these guys, trading up to get them doesn't make a ton of sense. Knowing Chip Kelly, who knows if the 49ers are even interested. If he wants to run his stereotypical offense, one would suspect that Kaepernick would be a better fit than Wentz or Goff. Obviously, QBs tend to come off the board sooner than expected historically, so in all likelihood something like this could happen. The other key thing to look at is draft positioning... Lets say no QB goes in the top 5, and we get to us at #6...who's coming up? After SF, the next logical choice would be Philly at 13 and the Rams at 15. To me, Philly makes very little sense, because they just invested $18M in Bradford and another $7M in Chase Daniels this offseason. So how realistic of an option are they? So you have the Rams at 15, the Jets at 20 (I don't see Buffalo at 19 moving up), and Denver at 31. That's about it from what I see. So in my opinion, three teams that would even be remotely interested in moving up to 6 to get ahead of SF. But what if a team has Wentz and Goff as equals? Meaning if the 49ers take one of them, the Rams don't have to trade up to get the other one, because they will fall right to them. Not to mention the gigantic cost it would take for a team to move from the teens or even as late as Denver to get up to 6 to take a QB... and this is a bad QB class. Bottom line... I don't see it. I think the Browns take Wentz, and then MAYBE somebody moves up for Goff. Other than that, I think Goff slides all the way down to the Philly/Rams range before getting snagged. First off, to question if anything Philly would does is realistic is funny to me. Right now, it seems that they have a higher turnover rate than McDonald's, so you really never know where they are going. I definitely think you mentioned the 3 teams lower in the draft that need a QB the most, but you never know how things are going to pan out. An aging Brees in NO, an injured Cutler in Chicago, Tannehill in a system that isn't really suited for his skill set. There are still a great amount of possibilities left in this draft. Everybody screams they don't want a QB until a solid prospect starts falling down the board. If it happens, I think teams will scramble.
  8. so did our cb's when he played us Our cb's didn't cost the 6th overall pick in the draft either. For a #6, I expect something close to P Peterson.
  9. Just because the Browns are signing RG3 does not mean they are not drafting a QB at 2. With RG3's injury history and inconsistent play, you can't think he is the answer to your problems. They will probably release McCown and I believe Jackson will want to get in a young talent that he can mold to his liking. And if the Browns don't take a QB, I still believe there will be at least 2-3 teams that will be wanting to jump above the #7 pick a snatch the QB of their liking before SF. It's the Browns. It's RG3. He was signed to be QB1. I will be shocked if they use pick #2 on a QB to challenge a recently signed QB who likely wasn't interested in signing to a team that was going to make him sincerely compete for the starting job. QB Jesus was signed to save the Browns from their misery. They may have signed him to be their QB 1 for the time being. He may want to start, but can he make it 16 games. In today's nfl, coaches don't get 5 years to implement a system and get things right. You have 2-3 years, unless you are Jeff Fisher. They may not take a QB with two overall, but they are getting another QB. I would definitely be on that. And like I said, if they skip on a QB at #2 and the Cowboys and Chargers follow suit at 3 and 4, I believe there will be GMs and Owners begging to get above #7.

  11. If Jack falls away from us and we can get a good enough deal to leave Buckner on the table at #6, I'm all for it. I love his physicality, but I have to question his pursuit ability.
  12. Cowboys won't get him in the second round. Elliot probably will not make it outside of the top 15.
  13. I don't think we would want to do that deal. I think Webb is going to be great at safety. He won't be Ed, but with "best hands in the secondary", awareness and football IQ, he should be able to be of great benefit to us. And, you are asking us to trade a starting player at one position to replace that same position. If we keep Webb, who will be successful at safety, we can address another position that really needs it. That just makes more sense to me.
  14. I wouldn't say Smith is injury prone. He stayed healthy last year, while still recovering from the injury two years ago. Also, his buddy Wright played some fantastic games for us down the stretch. I'm not saying CB is not a need for us, but we have a few holes we need to fill and I just think the pick could be used better in other positions from higher rated players than Hargreaves. I am all for VH3, and if we had a lower pick (10-13), I would definitely jump on it. However, picking at six means that one of three things is bound to happen - Bosa, Buckner or Jack will fall to us. I am personally hoping for Jack, but I think getting the best at any of these important positions is far more important than getting the second best at another spot (even though some have him as the #1 CB, let's be real, Ramsey is the #1 CB and S in the draft). Let's not forget, VH3 got smoked by Alabama's Cooper and Ridley in two straight years. Performing this way against a pro style offense and NFL caliber players, combined with measurable info (height, weight, speed, jump, arm length, etc), I do not see a nearly top five pick being spent on this player.
