  1. I think not everyone we drafted will have a guaranteed spot on the team seeing we made eleven picks this year, but there are plenty of interesting guys and I'm sure it will be tough come August
We're loaded at RB and TE, plus we've got nice options at the O-line. I hope someone can fill the (huge) shoes of Osemele and we'll be back to being a tough running team. And when we can run well, we can pass REALLY well. Also, how many WRs will be in 53-man roster?
Defense-wise, I think a lot of people already mentioned that a good pass-rush helps a lot the secondary play, so I think we're going to the right direction. I think I'm one who hoped we could get Cyrus Jones on the 3rd round. Seeing him going to the Patriots was tough :,(

  2. C'mon guys, it's not always about getting the flashy players the media is hyped about. Remember Ed Reed was "Solid, but not great" back in the day.
Think about it, we're not rocking on the draft selecting pro bowlers but we're assembling good teams, and we're one of the few teams that's been competing in the playoffs every year since 2008.

In 2014, we had 4 pro-bowlers despite having a good overall season, but it's hard to think that Smith & Smith weren't a great WR tandem.

There's a lot to like about the 4th rounders from last year, Z. Smith and J. Allen. Pernell McPhee was in the 5th round back in 2011, Pitta, in the 4th round, Arthur Jones, 5th round, Adalius Thomas, 6th round.
    In Ozzie we trust!

  3. I admit I was in the M. Brown bandwagon early in the year, and it's funny because I haven't fully given up on it yet, but still, I'm happy Kamar Aiken has been the making the most of his opportunity. Stepping up, that's exactily what we need!

We need this solid guy because for next year there isn't much certainity for our wide receivers group: I'm not sure Marlon comes back, Campanaro and Perriman are talented, but they need to show they can be reliable, we don't know about Steve, and Butler and Daniel are being evaluated at the moment.

  4. Thought it was a great move to give KO a little trial run at LT. If he shows he could be an answer there, we could justify paying him. We'd much rather be looking for a guard this offseason than a left tackle. As far as the corners, I know they don't look good but I refuse to believe that they 'aren't good corners' or 'need to go'. Jimmy Smith was one of the best in the league last year before the injury- he's clearly just not healed. Webb is a really good player. They're only two of several individual players on our defense who are underperforming. We have two safeties (sometimes three) on the field every play, but neither corner ever seems to get help in the deep middle. Mosley does not look anything like a second-year version of a guy who almost just won rookie of the year. Kendrick Lewis has created one turnover and Will Hill is not as impressive in coverage as he was last year. To me that all points to coaching... We have more talent on defense across the board than MANY teams with who are playing better defense. Gotta hit on a defensive playmaker in the draft

We'd do better analysing first, because he's very valuable at Left Guard, but if he successfully moves to LT, we could play Kelechi Osemele, John Urschel, Jeremy Zuttah, Marshal Yanda and Rick Wagner. I think it's vital that we keep him!

I agree with you, sometimes it feels like we're having coaching problems.. Timmy Jernigan and C.J. Mosley aren't living up to the high expectations they've set last year, not to mention the blown coverages (can't forget recently-signed Shareece Wright on a one-on-one against Torrey Smith...).

We still had big flashes from both Offense and Defense and we should have a lot of optimism for 2016, we DO have a lot of talent on D specially.

  5. if the refs had stopped for 5 seconds to check the replay they would've seen it was a phantom call on Daniel Brown..

We need to score more, we clearly had more yards, first downs and all, but we lacked TDs.

Nice to see another game down to the final seconds. We shut down Miami's offense all day, specially in the second half. It was already clear we'd be out of playoff contention, but seeing this team fighting for the win is always good.

  6. The NFL just handled this wrongly. I think the video evidence helps to get the attention of people: look how one cared about Hardy's problem until now. The problem is that not every case has video evidence, and we should not just focus on the suspension and the fines: we should focus on the rehab. Take Josh Gordon who is on his 10th suspension or something, where's the progress? just being punished all the time is apparently not helping.

For me Rice is the example of someone who aknowledged his mistake and fought to be forgiven. He was already deeply sorry before the videos came out, and the leaked images just made things a lot worse.

  7. I totally agree. Every "analyst" talks about Joe not being elite yada yada yada. When has Joe ever had weapons? Players the opposing team actually were afraid of? Maybe the Super Bowl year when we had Boldin & Smith, but other than that he's been working with average/ below average players. Look at every QB in the league and see what he is working with and who they had in the past its ridiculous. Ravens need more playmakers and a real #1 receiver. VIA trade or draft, Ravens need somebody.

We also had a pretty decent receiving corps last year, and we were a few plays away from the AFC championship. People often say that the defense and the run game carry Joe Flacco, but these aspects are the one we usually invest here: we don't draft offensive playmakers withing the first three rounds frequently. That's just the way our team is usually built

  8. I don't mind losing seasons here and there - hey, they're bound to happen - I just hate that Steve Smith Sr. has to go out retiring on one. Especially after spending all those years losing in Carolina. Should have been a Raven from day 1. No one deserves a Super Bowl win more than SSS. Sigh.

Yeah, right? Look at this guy, 36 years, playing with broken bones and still being one of the top wide receivers on the league, and certainly our MVP alongside Yanda.

  9. It just feels our defense is getting worse and worse.. Last year I actually liked Pees with all the creative blitzes, getting sacks from different players. He still made dummy calls (Chykie Brown covering A.J. Green, etc...)

This year? we're making guys like Josh McCown and Colin Kaepernick throw for 300+ yards... Of course the injuries don't help either.

  10. I am SOOOO cheering for these guys to prove themselves. I don't think we'll throw a lot in this game, I think it's more likely that Flacco throws for around 200 yards and Forsett breaks the 100-yard mark again.

I'm a big fan of Marlon Brown and Kamar Aiken, they've broken the odds as undrafted players, stepped in nicely when had to in 2013 and 2014, they're just having a slow start. They're obviously not #1 receivers, but oh well..

  11. We would've had the money for Torrey Smith if we didn't keep SSS. Why wouldn't Ozzie want to keep a young, developing receiver and spend millions of dollars for a 36 year old receiver in SSS? We knew Steve Smith was going to retire at some point- he can't play much longer. I'm sure Ozzie realizes his huge mistake now, but it wouldn't been good to keep Torrey- Ozzie has to get this "rent a receiver" mentality out of his head. In regards to Torrey Smith's current performance with the 49ers, let's all please remember that he has Kapernick throwing to him (another RG3) and that the 49ers lost a ton of talent this year and aren't the same team (as we are now) a year or two ago. At least when Torrey was around, he would get huge gains off of PI calls- he lead the league last year for most PI yards gained- so let's not say his production was down last year- and he opened up everything for the other receivers- that's why Flacco posted career numbers last year with the passing game. Does this now make sense for everybody in realizing how valuable Torrey was? Ozzie, at the very least, we should have at least kept Jacoby, then we wouldn't have to even consider putting our only legitimate receiver, SSS, as our punt returner.

I think it's more about the amount of dead money that limits our cap, mainly because of Pitta and Rice contracts... Oh, and the amount of money we commit to Monroe and Webb. We couldn't predict Pitta's injury and Rice's troubles, but it still bothers everyone that our cap is shortened because of guys that aren't even playing. Monroe and Webb were considered very good when their contract was signed, but we've been very unlucky with the injuries.

I agree with you that Torrey is surely being missed, but I don't think the SSS signing was bad... if we could commit a bit more $$ to wide receivers we'd still have him

  12. I have confidence we can stuff their run game. People were pointing at Bell's injury as to why we beat the Steelers in the playoffs, but he never runs well against us.

We have a good run defense, I'm worried about containing Michael Vick when he decides to take off and run, pressuring him, and of course stopping Antonio Brown.

We gotta be able to give their QB no confidence with early interceptions and sacks, hope Jernigan and Carl Davis unleashes their full potential this game.

it'd be nice to finally be able to run the ball well, y'know.
