If we can get the Flock flying in the same direction we can start a stampede and put an end to this madness. because if we don't we will be mired in mediocrity for years to come. I don't want us to be an NFL laughingstock like the Browns, Jets, Bears and Jaguars. We are better than that!
Ah ok. So you're hoping you can create enough anger and outrage on this board through your posts to make ownership open their eyes and start listening to our wishes of change!!!
How long do you plan to attempt this before realizing it's silly and 95% of us just want to watch and talk Ravens football?
1 hour ago, wizard1 said:You know I'm right even if you would never admit it. We are a mediocre football team , with average players who are under-achievers. We are poorly coached and lack speed, talent and depth on our roster. We have 1 player in consideration for the pro bowl. Even tho we have a decent defense we are not winning games with the D anymore. That time has passed in the NFL.
If you think I enjoy posting these same lame predictions about my team you are wrong. But the nauseating part is they are almost always right.
I'm not here to blow smoke in the huddle I'm just here to do the Super Bowl Shuffle.
You may be 100% right... But that doesn't stop fans from rooting for this team to win and discussing ways to attack the upcoming opponent.
I don't quite get what you're trying to achieve here with your posts. You're free to post whatever you'd like of course, but are you trying to convince us that this team isn't elite? I mean, we are all watching the games so that's not needed. Or are you trying to get everyone to turn against the front office as if a forum revolt can bring change in some way? Or is that how you deal with the frustration of a lackluster team? Just curious.
Just now, Cillmatic said:We're one win from leading the division and people are STILL being downers...
Right. But I think it's because the team is trending downwards, instead of up. Still a lot of football yet to be played though.
1. Get the Oline healthy and commit to the run game. I can't stress that enough. Keep running even if we start the game off slow.
2. Joe needs to get the ball out of his hands quickly. Quick reads. Dink and dunk. Quick Slants. Screens. Be creative. We can't afford to let Joe sit in the pocket waiting to get destroyed.
3. The young pass rushers need to be aggressive. We are desperate for some resemblance of a pass rush. Blitz early and often.
4. And I repeat.... Start T.Young.
6 minutes ago, Ravensbest52 said:agreed. We need to change our thinking in which we let our guys that produce walk and keep those that don't. Resigning wright was a mistake and could have used that money else where.
Well I guess the question becomes... Which players did we let walk and have gone on to be as successful or more so with the next team?

The players executing, playing well and the coaches putting them in the best situation to succeed are the only things that will turn this season around.
He's had one losing season in his head coaching career. It's going to take a lot more than that to break him. I mean, Marvin Lewis is still smiling.

Sami does this to every thread and has been doing it for a long time, his glass isn't half full, his glass is on pieces on the kitchen floor while he tries to use cotton balls to put it back together. If he was open to having a decent discussion it would be different, hes not. Hit the ignore button and enjoy a little less negativity and over-reactions.
Nobody can argue against the fact that Joe isn't playing good, but the thing that's makes this hard to judge is the amount of issues overall. The OL, his health, no running game, whatever is going on with the OC position for the last two years. I never expected Joe to be a 4500 yard 45TD guy, I just want more consistency and in an offense where things have changed so much that's hard. I will still take Joe over guys like Ryan, Rivers, Romo because they do nothing in the playoffs and that's when Joe finally decides its time to change gears. Having realistic expectations in life is very important....in all aspects of life
Haha. Well, there are actually times I agree with him and he does make a valid point. I'm not one of those "see the good in everything" type of fans. But then there are times he's completely out of whack.
Joe is who he is. Surround him with the right pieces and he'll get the job done. He's not Drew Brees, where he can make something out of nothing. Sami's biggest issue is that Joe's contract is what prevents us from "putting pieces around him". But that subject has been debated to nausea.
23 minutes ago, Sami84 said:in that case we are a sorry franchise and the day ozzie and co leave might be a good day..
There is a ton of blame to go around for these past 1.5 seasons. But again, we are complaining about 1.5 seasons here..... There are teams complaining about 1.5 decades. Don't overreact. There is a lot of parity in football. The Steelers, Broncos, Giants and whatever top notch franchise you prefer, have all recently been through several consecutive playoff droughts and have recovered.... We haven't experienced that in the last 10 years... Perspective man.... Perspective...
15 minutes ago, Sami84 said:flacco in 2 years time on a random post game loss press conference '' yeah, we have to play better..just cut out the silly mistakes''.
harbaugh '' We really are close, we love joe, joe's the best..we just have to make plays in all phases. Joe's the franchise and that isn't changing no matter what happens. We're better than this. If we just focus on the fundamentals we'll be a winning football team, the talent is there, we have joe! It's up to all of us to turn this around..okay we've had 5 rough seasons but we're a good football team damnit''
flacco '' Yeah, how about another 150 dollar deal? you know I did go 11-0 in the post season in 2012...we'll just get a few bargains and draft well and things will be fine, im intending to have kid number 8 and 9 soon and i mean I've only got a few hundred million in the bank for them..''
harbs '' you got it joe, let me tell you all something, this is great. So many teams woud love to be in this position, with a superbowl winning QB. It's stability that any NFL team craves and I just feel blessed to be a part of this, it's special..isn't god great??''
Sami in 2 years time...
"We aren't going to the playoffs until Flaccos contract is off the books!!!"
Sami in 4 years time...
"2 more years until Joe is off the books!!! No playoffs until then!!!!"
Sami in 2023...
"We aren't going to win anything until we get a veteran QB in here! Ozzie can't draft!!!!... Trade for Geno Smith! At least he has experience!"
Sami to his grandchildren....
"Gather around. Let me tell you about the last time the Ravens won a Super Bowl.... His name was Joe Flacco...."
4 hours ago, Sami84 said:we wont be making the playoffs until flacco is off the books.
Which won't happen for another 7-8 years. Which is the same amount of time you'll spend complaining about it.
1. Commit to the run. Don't panic when you lose a lead.
2. Start T.Young on the outside.
3. Rotate other safeties in to slowly phase out Webb.
4. Work with Joe on getting the ball out of his hands quicker.
5. Limit penalties.
... and the obvious.. GET EVERYONE BACK HEALTHY!
9 minutes ago, 443hurricane said:He is going to be a bust just like Arthur Brown. He doesn't have the dog in him. I watched the entire game on dvr and it's obvious even in his other games. He does not have that dog in him. Watch SSS he has that dog. Go watch AJ Green he has that dog in him.
Demaryius Thomas had that dog in him his rookie season?
10 minutes ago, RaRaRavens said:Guess you're right. It's just the decision part regarding players, including how some have regressed etc, is painfully evident at the moment. And this team meeting and the drill because of Jernigan's fumble makes it seem like Harbs is putting all the blame on players. Serious d!ck move!
Well, I think lack of discipline and simple football IQ is a reoccurring theme thus far this season. The Mosley play, the Jernigan play, the foolish penalties, Hester's decision making back there, some of the offensive play calling... I think he wants to clean all of that up.
Random rant... But one thing that frustrates me is when I hear "this team lacks leaders" .... "This wouldn't happen if we had players like Ray and Ed in the locker room" ...
We've had a 5-11 season before. We've had a season where we started 7-3 and lost 4 of the next 5 games to fall out of playoff contention while playing uninspired football. Stuff like this happens. The AFC North is going to be a fight. Bengals are 3-4 as well, and the Steelers are 4-3 and will be without Ben for a bit. One week at a time. The same as it's always been.
22 minutes ago, RaRaRavens said:I'd like Harbaugh and the FO to answer one question before they start grinding the players for the Crap we're in - who the heck do they think is responsible for why this team is in such a mess roster wise and depth wise?!
There is a lot of reasons. There is also enough blame to go around. Ozzie has made questionable decisions. Harbs and staff have put together questionable game plans. Players have not produced the way most had expected them to. Some players are regressing. Some players just can't stay healthy. Like I said, enough blame to go around.
Offense:
- Flacco is not on the same page with the wideouts. At all.
- Wideouts aren't making the tough catches even when Flacco puts the ball where it needs to be.
- Offensive line is in shambles and it's showing with our lack of a run game. Still think Marty needs to keep handing it off regardless.
Defense:
- Need more speed out there... and by that, I'm referring to Webb.
- No QB pressure whatsoever. Need more blitzes if the ends can't apply some type of pressure.
- Any QB, good or bad, can find an open WR if you give them all day to scan the field and allow them to finish their routes.
Special Teams
- Tucker is the man. That is all.
- Hester is starting to worry me. He needs to get his confidence back during the bye.
OK. Now that the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled, here's what needs to happen for week 9...
- Yanda, Wagner, Stanley, SSS, Mosley = All need to be ready to go vs. Pitt.
- Young needs to prepare as the starting CB alongside Jimmy.
- Judon and ZDS need to prepare as the starters.
- It's time to consider Plan B at Safety. Elam, Huff or Levine need to start seeing some more snaps at this position to slowly phase Webb out. Prepare them for this.
- Flacco and Marty need to get on the same page. The passing game needs to be the emphasis. Focusing on getting the ball out quick. Quick reads. Quick decisions. Get the ball to the wideouts with space to make plays. Be creative. Look at other offenses that work and understand what is working for them.
- Pees needs to figure out ways to apply pressure to the QB. Emphasis needs to be on working in different blitz packages.
- Get the RB's ready for a heavy work load. The commitment to the run game has to be expressed to the entire offense. This is a run team. It's built to be a running team. Yesterday was a wake up call. No reason to rush less than 20+ times each and every Sunday... NO MATTER THE SCORE.
Tanking and playing some of the younger guys over the veterans who aren't producing..... Are 2 different things.
Play Young over Wright.
Consider Elam over Webb
Stick with Judon/Smith over Doom
Just now, drillem said:if you got a crap team and wanna win, just play the ravens
Crap team vs crap team. Someone's got to win.
3-4 fellas. It's going to be a long 2 weeks with the bye.
I'm sure Weddle wishes he had went to Oakland instead right now
Game is going to get out of control quick. The Jets have wayyyy tooo much pep in their steps right now.
5 minutes ago, Zeus said:Who are we?
We are a tough gritty proud bunch, yet we play undisciplined and lack a second gear on offense.
This is a point in the game where the offense NEEDS a touchdown.
