  1. Agree, but after what you said about Wright last week, you can put a positive spin on just about anything.
  2. Yes. I would have felt better seeing the Tucker kick come up short than that nonsense from Aiken.
  3. It's just so mentally draining for us to score a TD. And the Carr marches down the field like it's nothing for the game winner. Ugh.
  4. Thats 5 TD's in the past 3 weeks he's given up!!!!
  5. IT IS TIME to get Wright out of there. Offenses keep attacking his side. He's not a playmaker. He's not a good cover corner. Enough is enough. Also, the offense needs to figure it out quick. Flacco was under pressure, but even when he's not, he's still not making the best decisions back there.
  6. I don't know how Carr literally marched down the field in less than a minute for a TD... smh
  7. That's 4 TD's over his head in the last 3 weeks. I know a lot of people defend him, but something's going to have to change
  8. I don't think he NEEDS to guard Crabtree, but last year Crabtree did have his best game of the season against us. He can be a difference maker is we allow him to.
  9. 1. *sighs* My very first point was around us needing to make adjustments with Wright. 2. Cool. Those may be your areas of concern, so we will have to agree to disagree. When it comes to the defensive side of the ball, the secondary is high on my list. And these past 2 games I have felt Wright has struggled and been the weak link. I'm not calling for his benching, I'm just concerned it will be even more visible going forward. Hopefully not.
  10. 1. My point with the Belicheck reference was in regards to making the necessary adjustments when something isn't working. 2. Still makes no sense me. It's a forum. You watch the games, and point out players strengths and their weaknesses. You point out things that are going well, and areas we can improve on going forward. We aren't working in the front office to determine who gets cut or re-signed (apologies if you actually do)..You keep mentioning Allen Robinson. Coleman also got the best of him. I expect this to be a continuing theme until it's addressed. Teams will keep attacking him.
  11. I hear you. I just disagree. There are a ton of stats you can go by for every position to paint any story you'd like. With every player, you examine their strengths, as well as areas of concern. For example, some QB's might not throw a ton of picks, but they do during key moments in the game. Some RB's might not get the most yards, but they're known to break off the big runs and get the tough yards. When you look at Wright, it's less about stats and the amount of catches he allows, and more about the amount of big plays he's apart of. And I guess 'big plays' is where we differ and that's cool.. I consider allowing your man to catch a ball that leads to points on the scoreboard a big play. Especially when it changes momentum of the game. When its 3rd and 10 and you give up a 31 yd touchdown.... Same as being up 16-7 in the 3rd and giving up a redzone TD to cut the lead to 2. All players have flaws, it's not the end of the world to point some of them out. It's why the Pats are good. Belicheck's focus is eliminating the big plays. He doesn't trot out a bunch of Deion's in the secondary. I don't really buy the whole "he gets average money so we expect him to be average" theory. That just sounds.... eh, I don't even know what to call that.
  12. I'm very aware. And that top 5 duo scored 2 TD's on Wright. You can switch a player off of Wright, but he still has to deal with the other one in front of him. Not entirely sure your point. No one is expecting Wright to shut down anyone. Because he can't... Not many Corners can. But I consider a TD to be a big play.... whether its a 40 yard deep ball, or a 5 yard route. So far during his time in purple, he's been a player known to give up the big play fairly easily. Just my opinion.
  13. 15 pts a game on defense is crucial when your offense is scoring 19 pts a game. And everything about this post is lazy. There was nothing average about him yesterday. He's given up 3 TD's in the last 2 games ... against 2 very average QB's. The schedule and QB talent only gets tougher from here. No one is calling Wright a scrub... or a bad corner. But he has a knack at giving up the big plays. You can't argue that. Even stemming from last season. Same story. It's the same stuff we saw with Webb before the Safety switch.
  14. Here's my point... I like Wright as a corner. He's a good tackler and decent cover man. But since he's been here, he has a knack at giving up the big plays. Whether that's getting beat on the long ball, or in the redzone for a TD. He reminds me much of Webb when he started going downhill. I'm not asking Wright to shut down a wideout. Heck, I don't even ask that from Jimmy. But if he keeps getting beat for those game changing plays, then Pees needs to address that. And that doesn't mean benching him. Maybe it means not leaving him out on an island as much or giving him more help. But simply taking him off "good receivers" is not the answer. Teams will scheme up mismatches. And some teams have a really talented number 2.
  15. So Wright is excused from giving up big plays on a consistent basis to all wideouts who are starters, first rd picks, or deemed 'very talented'? Its football man. Offenses will design plays to cause matchup problems with Wright. You can't hide him all game. Jimmy is not Revis. What happens when the Jets come with Decker and Marshall? Or the Raiders come to town with a 6'2 Crabtree as the #2 receiver?
  16. Robinson isn't the first WR to burn Wright. Number 2 wideouts are also beating Wright for big plays consistently. The rookie Coleman did just that last game. Wright has shown the ability to make nice tackles around the line of scrimmage. But his man coverage is tough to watch. It doesn't take a Julio Jones to beat him. He's having trouble defending simple routes by basic receivers. I'm not sure Tavon is the answer right now, but hopefully we can find ways to clean this up as the season goes on.
  17. Or the worst super bowl champion.
  18. 1. Defense looks fast and aggressive. I love it. We really need to do something about Wright though. QB's will continue to exploit him. Adjustments need to be considered. 2. Tucker is a stud. No more needs to be said. 3. Forsett seems done. Can't break tackles. Seems to have lost his burst. 4. Not worried about Perriman. It's only his third game. I think his hands will improve. 5. Mosley and Orr are refreshing to watch. Fast and athletic. 6. Not overly worried about the offensive line. Young players who will continue to get better. Rookie mishaps are expected. Flacco needs to get the ball out much quicker. 7. We are finding ways to win.... and after last season, thats HUGE.
  19. There's got to come a point in time where we can't just allow teams to do whatever they want on Wright. It's too easy for them.
  20. We were "fired up" last year coming home at 0-2 to face the Bengals with our "season on the line"... Then AJ Green decided to end our season.
  21. Not to mention Brandon Williams will be 28 next season.
  22. A lot of talk about Jimmy but I think he's played well the first 2 weeks. Any numbers on yards and catches he's allowed so far?
  23. I don't think there is anything wrong with dinking and dunking if you are executing properly. The Pats will dink and dunk you to death, which opens up their shots down field. It makes Edelman so dangerous for them. Our dinks are checkdowns to Forsett for a loss of yards.
  24. The same thing they always do to us.
