  1. Not saying you're wrong. I just disagree. I don't think our offense can really take a step back from this previous season. If it wasn't for the name on the jersey, I don't think many people would be impressed with Wallace this season, and given the same opportunity, I'm sure Perriman can give you the same production, stats, eye test, etc.
  2. You're falling in love with players man. That's the problem. Just because a player gives you 70 catches in a season where our offense was atrocious, doesn't mean he's the best option for you going forward. We've learned that already with Aiken. Who else was going to catch balls back there? Flacco was slinging that thing recklessly all season. Wallace was brought in to be a deep threat, but was catching all of Flaccos 8 yard throws short of the markers. Was Wallace a dynamic wideout out there? He has 2-3 really good games. Give Perriman 120 targets and he'll come down with 60% of them and 4 TD's.
  3. Yep. I'm going into the offseason with Perriman, Moore, Camp and our TE crew.... and looking to add from there. Wallace is a big name, sure. But we don't need him. There's a reason Wallace keeps jumping teams. He's a deep threat and not much else. We already have fast wideouts. We need better play calling and schemes to get those guys open. Look at what other teams are doing... The Pats come in and scheme up deep routes for players we never heard of before. You watch other teams play one another, and young players are going deep. It's more on the play calling and scheme, rather than recycling these big name vets like Wallace and DJax. You can fall in love with players like Wallace all you want... If I'm Harbs, I'm moving on from him and getting Perriman and Moore out there with Flacco and the new OC.
  4. Sometimes a new voice is needed. I'd remove Marty and Pees from their coordinator positions. Time for younger new minds on both sides of the ball. The main UFA's I'd try and work out a deal with are: Juice, Wagner and Guy. Players I'd move on from are: Wallace, Mallet, Doom, Wright, Webb and Powers. Some other stuff on my To-Do list: - I'd start thinking about new deals for Orr and Jernigan, pending they continue to develop next season. - Commit to Dixon being the feature back next season. - Focus my draft around the offensive line, pass rush and defensive backs. Ideally, the 16th pick is a top notch pass rusher, and the later rounds are focused around the offensive line and secondary. - Flacco needs to spend time this summer with Perriman, Camp, Moore and Maxx. He needs to be on the same pages with these guys. Their development is crucial and I believe in each one of them. - Speaking of the receiving core, I'd enter free agency looking to acquire a sure handed chain moving WR. I'm a Garcon fan, but that's just tossing a name out there. I don't think Mike Wallace is the guy this team needs. - Suggs should be allowed to end his career with Baltimore next season. Any ideas of playing beyond that, he'll have to take his talents elsewhere. Although, I don't want him to be depended on so heavily to get after the QB as he was this season. Hopefully with the new DC and draft class, this won't be the case. - I love Pitta and there's a spot for him on this team. But at the same time, I think we need more playmaking at the TE position. It's a big offseason for Maxx.
  5. I have hope for Perriman. He's young and can continue to develop. I'm not a fan of bringing Mike Wallace back. I'd rather give those deep routes to Perriman and Moore... and acquire a sure handed chain mover. Wallace is not going to fight for a first down catch in a critical moment of the game. If Flacco doesn't drop it perfectly in his lap, then it's an incomplete. And lately, that's asking a lot of Flacco.
  6. Tough one here. I think he is and can continue to be a really effective wideout when used properly. Really good possession receiver, can help move the chains, and more often than not he'll impress you with his strength and hands. But he's not much of a playmaker... not fast and doesn't get the best seperation (something Joe needs), some noticeable drops... and we have young guys who can probably be the same or better given the time.
  7. QB RB LT RG ILB DT FS ... every other position needs to be closely examined and addressed this summer.
  8. Ray retired. Reed proved to be done. Ellerbe, Kruger and Cary all priced themselves out of Baltimore. Pollard and Boldin were both questionable releases looking back at it. But Pollard seemed to clash with Harbs, and with Boldin not taking a paycut, Ozzie put too much trust in Pitta and Torrey. I didn't hate either move at the time. But hindsight is 20/20. Adding Huff was a disaster. We did manage to sign Doom who had a good year or 2 before hitting a wall. And Daryl Smith was really solid. You couldn't have predicted what happened to Ray Rice. Torrey eventually priced himself out of Baltimore as well. Pitta got hurt. Jimmy can't stay healthy. We never added good young corners since the super bowl. We thought we had something in Melvin, until Brady showed otherwise. Forsett had a big year thanks to Kubiak. Speaking of him, Kubiak added a great dimension to our offense. But of course that leads to him getting the Broncos job. We did draft 2 time Pro Bowler CJ Mosley. Brandon Williams is a monster. Basically... there is a lot to the story of the Ravens since our super bowl. But it's been 4 years since then, and it's been 3 missed playoff apparences. If there were ever a time for bold changes to be made, it would be this summer. Clean up the roster. Players like Doom, Wright and Webb all need to be upgraded for faster younger talent. Perriman needs to spend all summer on the Juggs and be ready to be the top WR we drafted him to be. Maxx Williams needs to step up. Dixon needs to be ready to be the feature back. Spend money on cleaning up the offensive line. Draft pass rushers..... ... and last but not least... bring in some coordinators with new ideas to shake things up a bit. Pees and Marty have both run their course. A change doesn't mean you've been awful... it means we have peaked as a team with you. And it's time to try something new.
  9. At some point you need to put more of this on the players and less on the coaches.
  10. Marty being brought back? You think we bring in a new coordinator next season? .... nvm .. somehow missed your other posts.
  11. Wallace SSS (retire) Wright Webb Suggs (retire or cut) Doom ... all need to be gone. Time to rebuild the WR, secondary and pass rushing group. You have pieces to start building the o-line. I love the LB'er tandem in Orr and Mosley. You need a ball hawker beside Weddle. Completely rebuild the wideout group. Wallace provides little if he's not catching deep balls. We need sure handed chain movers. Dixon needs to be the feature back. Enough of this 2 back rotation. You can't count on Jimmy to play a full season or suit up for big games, so corners are a huge need.
  12. Some pretty weak offensive play calling in the redzone is what did us in. Tough.
  13. Yes! And that's my problem. Harbaugh is quick to point out the awful playcall.... but ignores the ridiculously awful throw there by our veteran QB.
  14. Ok.. Now that the dust has settled and the emotion has leveled out.... 1. We won the game. We came in knowing that we needed to win out in order to make the playoffs. 1 down, 2 to go. 2. Beautiful throw by Flacco to end the first half, finding SSR for 6. That's the Flacco we all know and love.... and miss. 3. Too many rookie mistakes from Joe. Sounds like a broken record each and every week, but sheesh. I knew coming into the season we had to be patient with him coming off his injury (even Brady took a bit to find his groove after the injury) but we are 14 games in now. It's all between the ears at this point. 4. I wish Harbaugh would have said "Worst play call AND worst throw of all time" regarding that redzone INT. Would be nice to hold the 120 million man accountable as well.... like he does with other players and coaches. 5. As said in every post, the run defense was awful. The play calls seemed to be geared towards attacking the QB rather than stuffing the run. Not a good sign with L.Bell up next. 6. Whenever we have a 7 or 10 point lead, we always fail to put the nail in the coffin and score to put teams away. It's always a punt or turnover which allows teams to stick around and make it go down to the wire. It's frustrating. 7. Nice to see the run game get going. Keep handing it off!! 8. Next week without Jimmy is going to be super tough. Like super duper tough. 9. SSR looks worn out and unhappy out there. Hate to see his career end like this. Hopefully he does retire though. Next season won't be any easier. 10. I.Love.Tucker.
  15. I'm cool with check downs. I know what happens when Joe slings the ball.......
  16. Eagles show little respect for our offense right there by going for it.
  17. Then throw it at someones feet or check it down. Can't just sit back there and take the sack leaving us out of FG range.
  18. Flacco has to throw the ball quick. He can't just sit back there as the pocket collapses around him.
  19. One thing we've struggled with is expanding on leads... A TD would be huge.
  20. When it's all said and done... Flacco will have 20+ TD's and 4,000+ yards. Maybe one of his better statistical seasons. Weird eh.
  21. 60 minutes hasn't been enough usually this season.
  22. Better than a 13 yard attempt getting picked off.
  23. The offensive nightmare continues...
  24. Whoa.
  25. Right. I edited my post to include " And maybe their replacements don't produce just as much, but the team doesn't take a hit because of it.... That's probably a better way of stating it "
