  1. Not a fan of Pees by any means, but sheesh .. Some of our defenders are in perfect position to make a play .. And just can't
  2. I know it's one game at a time, but let's get to 4-6 heading to Cleveland
  3. Whatever the result may be, just go out there and play hard. Play with pride. Every team has a down season. It's all about how you respond the following season. Hopefully Trestman is around for a few years to allow Joe to master his offense. Towards the end of the season I'm hoping Perriman can get some games in and get comfortable. I'm a big fan of Buck Allen and our TE's. We just some WR depth. I expect Ozzie to draft all defensive players this offseason. Corner, Safety, Pass Rush, faster LB'ers ... All need to be addressed in a major way. Sadly, Pees may have to go. Sometimes the writing is just on the wall. We need some fresh new schemes.
  4. This is just annoying to watch.
  5. That missed 3rd and 1 was absolutely backbreaking
  6. A secondary that can't cover for long, and no pash rush to force the QB to get the ball out quick ... So the QB can literally pick apart the defense like target practice.
  7. Our biggest need offesively is another starting wideout aside Perriman. I know the criticism is harsh on Perriman, but I still see him being a really good starting WR soon. But time will tell. Keep Givens and give Aiken a lesser role. Crock and Maxx are the TE's of the future. We need to get better with how we use them though. We also need to make sure we properly replace KO on the o-line if he leaves this summer. The defense is another beast. Corner, pass rush, and a replacement for Daryl Smith all need to be addressed this offseason. We need another shut down caliber corner aside Jimmy. Webb and Arrington are both done. Will Hill can remain at safety but we need to see what we have in Terrence Brooks. Not sure what's happening with Suggs, but we need some young hungry players rushing the QB. Draft to address defensive needs. Free Agency/Trades to address offensive needs.
  8. Win on Monday, take care of home field during second half of the season and hope for the best. In a perfect world we will be 3-5 after the bye week with Perriman ready to play and the Jags and Rams coming into Maryland.
  9. I think you're ignoring the reasons as to why Kaep played such a bad game.
  10. Man do I think we are overcomplicating this. Baltimore has a leader. Several of them. Harbaugh, Flacco and Suggs are all leaders on the field and in the locker room. Yes Ray was the leader here for so many years. But also during those years we missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons, had a 5-11 season, had some not-so great defenses, lost 9 straight games etc etc.. Since Ray retired we've been.. 8-8 (with a chance to make the playoffs during the last week of the season) 10-6 (knocking off Pitt in the playoffs and taking New England to the very end) 1-5 It's a rebuilding season. Ozzie made some moves that backfired and we've had some injuries that we couldn't properly overcome. Every loss has been a close game. We aren't getting blown out week in and week out. Some changes need to be made and we'll be back. Flacco needs talent around him to take this team far, just like every QB does.
  11. Breathe everyone. Ozzie, Steve and most of us fans have been down this path before. It's 2007 all over again for us. This is Harbs first time and it's important he handles it well. With the playoffs out of reach, Harbs needs to keep this team together and avoid a total collapse in the locker room. We have a lot of cleaning out to do this summer. Clean sweep at almost every position. No more filling the depth charts with undrafted rookies.
  12. Changes definitely need to be made but they won't happen until after the season. Nothing you can possibly do now to stop bleeding. Just got to ride it out.
  13. Ed Reed and Ray Lewis had a close to .500 record playing together prior to Harbaugh's arrival. We had struggles with them building a title team, and we will have struggles without them as well. Every team not in New England goes through it.
  14. 1. Tyrod wanted a chance to play. Wasn't happening in Baltimore. 2. Perriman's injury is a healing issue. It's not healing like it should and no one is quite sure why. This was stated early on. Nothing anyone can do about it. Not much of a fiasco, more so frustration from us fans who want to see him play. The biggest mistake was going into the season without the proper depth at the WR and CB positions.
  15. We all need to breathe for a second. It's really our first season in 8 years where we probably won't be in a position to fight for a playoff spot. Last season we went toe to toe with the eventual super bowl champs on their home field. We aren't all of a sudden the Jaguars because we started the season 1-4. We've had losing seasons before with Ray and Ed in their primes. We've have a defense that looked pathetic with Rex calling the plays. This isn't new. Unless you're the Pats, these types of seasons happen. The Packers went 4-12 with Brett Favre. Steelers fans were freaking out after consecutive 8-8 seasons, including one where they started 0-4. We are a team dismantled by injuries and we don't have the depth to overcome it..... .... and thats where the topic shifts to Ozzie. I'm sure he knows this... An eye opener. I'm sure this will be his focus. We don't have depth at any position. We have talent on both sides of the ball. Players who will be big names soon. But we don't have enough talent spread across the roster and it shows. To inexperienced at key positions. Not enough discipline. Players who aren't burning inside to win. We lack heart. Going to be a critical offseason.
  16. Our secondary is exactly what the doctor ordered for Kaep. A secondary that made Mccown look like Aaron Rodgers out there. The question becomes whether our players are just that bad ... Or our schemes aren't putting them in the best positions to succeed. I think it's a little bit of both. The offense had a chance to put the game away in that first half but ended drives with some questionable play calls. The defense applied pressure but Mccown was able to step up into the pocket and hit his targets consistently. No words can describe how awful the secondary and linebacker coverage was yesterday. That seems to be the theme since last year. Sooner or later we have to get that addressed. Too much focus on Comp picks, undrafted rookies, and other teams trash. You can strike gold once and awhile but sooner or later it'll catch up to you. With that said, I know Pitta and Rice were unfortunate situations. So it's not as black and white. Ugh. My head hurts.
  17. Good: Run game looked solid Bad: We had a chance to blow this game open in the first half and didn't. Ugly: That secondary. Ugh. The Pats lost a lot of players on that defense and they're still playing with discipline and heart out there. There is enough blame to go around. Ozzie underestimated the importance of a few of his former players and put too much faith in these scubs. Pees just needs to go. Nothing more to be said there. But the offense isn't any better. That 3 and out to start OT is unacceptable. I don't care who your wideouts are. It's a rebuilding year. That's fine. I expect us to clean house this summer. Harbaugh needs to switch things up a bit as well.
  18. Waller is unknown potential. Marlon is proven mediocre. So most would take the unknown over the mediocre. But I'm not as high on Waller, at least right now. We aren't in a position to spend time developing such a raw player. Give me Marlon this season and we can revisit this in the offseason.
  19. Offense: - Lean heavily on the run game - Joe needs to take care of the football. No careless interceptions Defense: - Pin your ears back and attack McCown! Blitzes galore. - Limit penalties
  20. Baffles me. The kids hurt and not cleared to play. What more can you do.
  21. I truly feel it's more about the playcalling and execution than the players themselves. We need to put our wideouts in the best positions to succeed and make plays. And that's on Trestman. I know he's working hard to do so. Kamar needs to keep improving each week. There is definitely some potential there. He just needs that fire. He needs that edge. Marlon is who he is at this point. He's just WR depth. Can make a nice play here and there but isn't a player to depend on. Givens can easily take over Camp's spot in the offense. We have some beastly TE's that need to be used more. Crock and Maxx need more snaps together. Especially in the red zone. Take care of the ball. Use better schemes to get our wideouts open. RUN RUN and RUN more.
  22. Good A: The run game came alive. Forsett had some pep in his step. I loved everything about it. We need more of this moving forward. Good B: Aiken needs to build off of this game. I think he played solid and actually looked like he wanted the football at times. Good C: Win next week at home and we are 2-3 and back in business for the wild card race. Bad: Joe really needs to limit those head scratching interceptions. It's what separates the good QB's from the great ones. I think Joe has everything it takes to be great. Just needs to take better care of that ball. Especially in games like that. Ugly: The injury bug is all over the team this season.
  23. Right. I think they've explained what the injury is. It just seems to be healing a lot slower than doctors anticipated. Nothing can happen until the injury is healed properly. Coaches and doctors are probably just as confused as we are and can't to anything but wait. I'm not sure why everyone thinks there is a big secret being kept behind doors. He was practicing last week to test it out. Football may not be as much of a soap opera as we think all the time.
  24. My problem with Aiken and Brown is that they just don't seem like they want the ball... they don't seem like they are dying to make a big play. They run routes like its a friendly game of flag football with coworkers. Everyone kept saying "don't judge the preseason games" ... And that's right to an extent. You don't judge preseason wins and losses. Because teams aren't necessarily playing to win. 0-4 means nothing, same as 4-0. But when unproven players don't do much in preseason games when they are fighting for a roster spot... that's telling. Of course they looked great in practice. Anyone can look great against our DB's. J.Butler looked like Dez until he came across real corners and remembered why he was undrafted.
