Don't get me wrong he's far from my first choice. But a few days ago I would've ranted over the pick, but if he happens to be the pick tomorrow, the way I see it after more film review, I would be on board with it 100%. You gotta be blind to not see this guys immense potential, which really shouldn't be that hard to develop into. High character and work ethic guys with this much raw talent don't come by often.

I mean hell Myles Garrett isn't exactly refined and he's touted as the next Julius peppers/jevon kearse.

Okay I feel you, I'd support any raven we pick with all the optimism in the world. (I'd still rather have Harris over takk)

I've been warming up to takk McKinley after watching more film. I love the way he just takes blockers on a ride against their will, like he just kidnaps dudes and says "you're coming with me boi" and drags them to the backfield. And he breaks free from blocks without even using any disengage tactics, he just violently shoves dudes off of him.

I would really have to hope that Suggs teaches this young man everything he can, he seems like a bright young man and obviously a workaholic, nobody with that effort level is gonna be slacking at any point. And the way he closes in and eats up ground is just amazing.

It's also loads of fun to watch him get turned around by blockers and see him recklessly flail to get squared back up without losing ground. When he got spun around against ASU and he just blindly leaped in the air with the slim hope that he could bat a pass I just laughed... hopefully he can harness that desire and turn it into something a little more thoughtful lol. With the likely bs rumors of takk being high on our board I can't say I'd be too disappointed after a second and third thought

I agree with you on all this but that doesn't equal pick 16 to me. He has too much work still and he's injured. I would like a more refined prospect at 16. I think he has all the potential in the world but that may all he be.

  3. Someone who I think other people would be upset with but I wouldn't is Malik McDowell. I'd much rather have him as a trade down target but dudes a freak. I don't think he'll be very productive day one and people might call him a bust but with our coaching staff and locker room I think year 2/3 he will be a pro bowler.

He he has a lot of boom bust potential I'll admit and he's not my favorite choice I just wouldn't hate it.

  4. I'm starting to really like Malik McDowell. If he falls to the second Ravens should trade up for him. Dude is really unrefined but probably the second biggest physically gifted freak after Garrett. Some question his motor but I think he was just pissed that he had to do everything.

I can buy your argument bout whether he's a good standup player but its absolutely not fair to say Taco cant get off of blocks. He'd be a great pickup for a 4-3 team like the Lions. You want a player that cant get off blocks take a close look at Charles Harris. Good initial move but then gets stonewalled if it doesn't work and is horrible at setting the edge. Harris is my upset pick at 16 or even 47,74 or 78.

Why the hate for Harris?  Whil he's not great in the run game when he just pins his ears back and rushes the QB he's for sure one of the best. He has a great first step and decent bend and hand fighting skill, but his spin move is amazing.

Behind Garrett and Barnett I'd say he's the third bust pure pass rusher.

  6. I'm not sure what tape people are watching with Barnett being slow. He has amazing get off. Even when he's not anticipating the snap dude still get off the ball very quick. Maybe he didn't run an amazing 40 but his 10 yard split was good and he had one of the best 3 cone drills of anyone. I believe he was 5th with being .04 second behind 2nd.

If Barnett is there at 16 it's a no brainer. He'll only get bigger stronger and faster. I wouldn't doubt he'll be the most productive pass rusher from this class. Dude has proved himself every year vs quality tackles. Broke Reggie Whites record. Watch the tape dude is constantly putting pressure on the qb. And he plays smart. Stays home in the run game and doesn't over pursue and squeezes the edge. (I'm a huge fan)

  7. Just watched the tape of Charles Harris vs Vandy again. Man I would love him at 16. I hated on him before but I've done a complete 180 on him and I'm 95 percent sure he'll be there at 16. Would be even more amazing if we can get in in the 2nd but I doubt that will happen.

the more i think about it the less likely i think it is that we get a pass rusher in round 1 without a trade back unless barnett somehow falls - i dont think harris or watt will be the top guy on the board at 16 and i think its safe to say williams is dropping on everyone's board - i have a feeling this is gonna be the kind of year where eric de costa nails the pick a week before the draft

I'm 90 percent sure we're gonna go DB then edge.

Haason Riddick who I mentioned earlier is tearing up the senior bowl so far. He can rush the passer and cover anywhere, his speed sets him apart. Can play outside and inside linebacker He's a first rounder and a possible target for the ravens.

Yes I mentioned him in the pass rusher thread a few weeks ago and no one said anything. I don't think he'll go first round and should be available for us in the second. He's tape vs Memphis is amazing.

Id argue that Dixon absolutely has the potential to be one of the best running backs in the league.

I completely agree. The few times he actually ran the ball he was constantly getting yards after contact. If he was lead back I can see him in top 10 total yards.

  11. I watched the Harris vs West Virginia tape. In his tape he played much better against the run and showed some power using his speed. Now he still didn't play "hard" on every down but what I saw made me change my mind on him. I think I'd rather have him than takk. Plus he could be a trade down candidate.
