  1. OMG, I sat through The Last Airbender last night. Did MNS just dip a ladle in a cellulite port-a-pot or what? That was the worst movie I think I've ever seen. Its like they just pulled people at random off the street to act in it! Even the fighting choreography was beyond pathetic.

Gonna watch Monsters today/tonight based on BloodRavens review.

    Happy 4/20 movie lovers!

I refuse to call TLA a movie. It was a benchmark test to see how long it takes an absolutely horrendous excuse for a movie to drive people to either walk out of the theater or turn it off (depending on how you're watching it). Those who sat through it shall be as gods after enduring and inflicting such pain upon themselves to try to drive others away from it.

  2. I have no idea what TMZ has to do with Sports Entertainment, but apparently someone is complaining about R-Truth smoking during his heel turn segment and took it to TMZ.

    http://www.tmz.com/2011/04/19/patrick-reynolds-wwe-smoking-ron-killings-truth-monday-night-raw-tobacco-free-rj-reynolds-quit-evil-apologize-publicly/

WWE Responded with this: "The negative effect smoking has on one’s health and physical performance was a part of a storyline on last night’s Monday Night Raw. Negative depictions of tobacco use on television are not unusual and can be seen on other TV-PG shows."

People are WAY TOO SENSITIVE these days. I bet the kids see more people smoking every day than they see wrestlers smoking on screen. This dude needs to shut his mouth and leave the WWE alone... I mean it's a Soap Opera and don't people smoke on these Soap Opera shows but nobody is getting on them.

Yeah, I read this too. Good for the WWE in not giving in and apologizing for it.

  3. If anything, I hope Randy Orton gets drafted to Smackdown. Orton/Del Rio could be nice to see and SD could use a new face with star power since Edge left. Also maybe even HHH to Smackdown? It would make it easier for the HHH/Undertaker #2 for WM28. Plus doesn't HHH favor the Smackdown road schedule?

Unless the Orton/Punk feud is over, Orton won't be going unless Punk goes as well.

  4. I'm not a fan of Truth, but to say to say nobody wants to see him and he isn't over is anything but.

I don't think FF meant no one wants to see him period (although I'd love to never see Truth again). I think he just meant no one wants to see him in a WWE Title match, regardless of whether or not he's just fodder.

  5. The more I think about it, the more I realize that it doesn't matter whether or not Christian wins the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules. The important thing right now is that he's in the main event picture, but even more important than that, Christian has to stay in the main event picture or all of this build-up will have been for nothing. If Christian wins the title at the PPV, it validates his career, but it doesn't necessarily ensure that his push will be sustained once he drops the belt. Win or lose, SmackDown needs Christian to stay in that top tier as the top active face right now until another guy steps up.

While Rey Mysterio is immensely more popular than Christian, it's not the right time to bring Mysterio back up to that main event picture unless it also means bringing Cody Rhodes up with him to elevate their feud.

I never, ever want to see Mysterio in the main event picture again. His matches have become as predictable as Cena's.

  6. I still can't believe R-Truth is main eventing... very disappointed in the WWE for that choice. Doesn't really matter though since I won't be watching it anyway.

I believe JO said it before, but I hope it's now a way for Miz to retain, without Cena needing to be pinned. Personally, I could care less if Cena wins or loses, but the WWE does. So any chance for the Miz to win is better in my opinion.

  7. Everyone was worried HHH was just use his power to play politics and only push people who are on good terms with him and were only his friends, and not push people who he didn't like and now this info you guys talked about had them worried for nothing. This also confirms what I was saying about how most likely when HHH takes over he'll bring the WRESTLING back and get away from the Entertainment that Vince wants to be.

I'm also glad HHH prefers the old way of building up guys before they are thrown in the main event because he is right, Sheamus and Jack Swagger's characters have been hurt with their quick rise to the Main Event before they were ready so I'll welcome this change any day of the week.

Yeah, Sheamus never recovered since he started to fall back down the ladder. It's pathetic to see a two time WWE Champion lose to Santino. I never considered Swagger to be near the main event level to begin with, so I still cannot understand why he was thrown up there.

What irks me now is we have R-Truth in a WWE Title match, along with Cena, while guys like Punk just sit on the sidelines.

  8. Well, now I can't wait for Triple H and Stephanie to have some more control over what goes on in the WWE. Apparently, Triple H is in favor of actually building up the anticipation for new talent before they appear, instead of just having them show up one day on television. The Sin Cara and Awesome Kong vignettes were his idea (as the first two wrestlers he's worked with since his new position). He also doesn't want to bring young talent up to the main event until, and this is a shocker, they're ready. He's seen too many young guys come up who are still learning and have their characters take too much flak to survive.

Sounds like it won't be so bad if Trips is in charge one day.

We already knew we had Triple H to thank for Sin Cara, but apparently, Triple H is also responsible for Awesome Kong's debut and the vignettes being used to introduce her. (LINK)

Basically, Triple H is using an old-school philosophy of introducing audiences to characters before they debut, and he is also adamant about NOT putting new talent on-camera before they're ready. I love it!!!

Triple H has already won me over, even though we haven't seen the fruits of his labor yet. I loved the slow build of the Y2J-HBK feud and I couldn't believe that there weren't more feuds built like that over the past couple of years.

We both posted the same information at the same time. :P

  9. Even though the term "action soap opera" is technically true in describing the nature of the product, that doesn't mean that it's an appealing way to market the product. That just alienates the male audience given the hypermasculine culture of pro wrestling.

That was exactly my thought. As a matter of fact, wrestling fans see the term "male soap opera" as something of a derogatory term to professional wrestling... and now you have a wrestling company saying it's going to make "action soap opera" as an appropriate term for his product?

  10. Really?.... Really? Vince has officially lost it. I'm starting to want HHH in charge now as I think with him and Stephanie we'll be able to get our wrestling back and be able to call it World Wrestling Entertainment again.

So... would we refer to Big Show as the "World's Largest Entertainer with tremendous athletic prowess"

I guess so, since he can't be called an athlete anymore. This whole "The WWE isn't a wrestling company, it's an entertainment company" ordeal is beyond ridiculous now.

  11. Vince McMahon and the WWE have officially gone insane. Seemingly, an article that's been sent to people who do voice-overs called "The Language of WWE" has been leaked. Apparently, it lists words that are forbidden to be used and what should be used instead. The following words are "forbidden":

~ Wrestling & catch (a term used in southern Europe) - Saying something like "Wrestling is seen across the world" is wrong, instead it should be "WWE is seen across the world"

~ Sports - WWE should be called "Entertainment" or... an "action soap opera". The WWE gave the following two examples of this "WWE is exciting entertainment" and "WWE is an exciting action soap opera".

~ Athletes & Sportsmen - The WWE gave the following example of the "proper" terminology "WWE Superstars are entertainers with tremendous athletic prowess".

~ Fight & Fighting - Only the terms matches and bouts are to be used in reference to WWE matches.

  12. The thing I loved most about Sin Cara's debut match was that it told a story along with all the acrobatics. It wasn't just a spotfest like many of the Americanized luchadore matches of the past few years. It reminds me of the old WCW cruiserweight division, where guys like Dean Malenko and Chris Jericho could mix it up with traditional luchadores and tell a proper story along with all the flashiness.

I don't think Sin Cara knows enough English to cut a quality promo. He'll likely need a manager if they plan on pushing him to the main event level, unless they choose to keep him mute. I can't wait until he puts on matches with Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio.

That's what boggles me about them wanting him to climb the ranks so quickly. We all know managers are going the way of the tag team division, albeit at a much faster rate. Since he came from Mexico, I figured he wasn't quite fluent or effective speaking english. I'd be curious to see who they'd line up for his manager... if they even do.

Man, I miss the Cruiserweight division from WCW.

  13. I'd be angry too... his entrance has looked pretty bad, and that mistake off the top rope was unacceptable, although I mostly blame the other guy.

I don't blame him on the entrance. That trampoline keeps getting placed too close to the ring. Obviously, it needs more practice or else it should just be cut out completely. Yeah, Primo was most likely at fault for the botch. Oh well, he's probably already on the chopping block with spring cleaning coming up.

All of that doesn't change the fact that Sin Cara has so much potential it isn't even funny, plus he's fun to watch to boot. If they want to make him a main event superstar, though, I think he'll have to get on the mic first.
