Here's a question no one has asked:
Who's the chick in the heels who got out of the limo? Hmmmmmmmmmm?
Even though it was The Rock, the intro to his music was entirely way too drawn out. I wish they would have toned it down and given him even more mic time. I also loved how everything PG was thrown out the window. When he was getting ready to tell the world about the Facebook picture he'd upload if Cole went over to the computer, I recited the entire "Shine it up real nice. . ." catch phrase, and was still shocked he got to say it all, curse words and all.
Even though he said he's back for good, I don't know. With WM in Miami next year, "for good" could mean one year. It could also mean he's really gone after this year's WM, or maybe, just maybe, he's really back for good. Who knows. Even though he said he really wouldn't wrestle anymore, I do hope he's changed his mind. Dwayne's only 38 and still in great shape. Hell, Shawn wrestled until he's 45 (with major back surgery no less), Taker's 45, Triple H is 41, Big Show is 39, and Jericho's 40. Only Hunter is in better shape (arguably) than Rocky. I know, the WWE's going for a youth movement, but if The Rock says he wants to come back, you'd be stupid to say no. I'm not giving my hopes up, nor am I getting my hopes up that he'll actually see a substantial return to ringwork, but I can hope.
The Rock was always my second favorite wrestler (only Shawn Michaels was higher), just above Jericho and Triple H.
So I went back and watched the Chris Jericho/Shawn Michaels match from Wrestlemania XIX... man, that was one of the greatest matches I have ever seen, between two of my all-time favorites.
So I've been on a... Fozzy kick (their last two albums, with original content, not the covers of when they "were stuck in Japan"). Jericho is truly a pure entertainer, no matter what he does. His books are top-notch, he was entertaining on Downfall (for the most part), and he's still one hell of a wrestler even in his forties. Chris isn't lying when he says he's the best in the world at what he does.
I just wish he never cut his hair
I miss goofy Jericho.
Yeah, Cole has taken his heel persona to a new level... and sadly it's not a good level. Lawler played a good heel to JR's face, at least he still called the matches. Cole just gets overly loud, completely off-topic, and seemingly blatantly irritating. You don't have to be loud and obnoxious to play a heel. Booker's almost forced to overplay the face just to offset Cole.
I've hated Vickie for a long, long time and every week it gets worse. The end of Smackdown last week, where she fired Kelly and told Edge about her being the guest ref... was terrible. She didn't need to yell every line, and that "menacing" laugh... *cringe* That "Excuse Me!" catch phrase is terrible too, mostly because it's completely out of context ninety-five percent of the time. Very rarely is it interrupting anyone, she just says it to say it. And you're right, JO, she waits too long, and always says it way too many times. Okay, once or twice... maybe three times, but she drags it on way too much. Also, you bring up a really good point, Franny, she has been in the same storyline for years. I feel almost stupid for not realizing it before.
Meh, I'd much rather have had an Undertaker/Barrett match then a Taker/Triple H match... if I had to endure another Old Man Taker match. The Taker/Barrett match would make much more sense to me, but I could see them playing it off as Hunter wants revenge for Shawn being "forced" into retirement.
I never realized there wasn't a PPV in March this year.
She's definitely not too shabby... IMDB says she going out with Jason Statham, that lucky dog.
I hate Statham, not because of who he's dating. But because he's so one dimensional. It's not because every movie he does is an action movie... but because every movie he does is basically the same movie with a different title.
Anyone else interested in "The Adjustment Bureau"?
Acting or not, I loved watching Miss Fox in the first two <.<; So yes, I'm slightly disappointed she wont be back. Her replacement though... wow.
Don't forget about his Oscar-worthy performance in 127 Hours.
I've yet to actually see it, sadly. So I haven't forgot it, I just can't comment on it
Although I've heard great things.
He and ATD have been arguing most of this thread and I have been trying to stop it and try to get back some wrestling talk and just ignore the little argument they were having to prevent this thread from being closed.
I'm saddened, JO. This thread is 111 pages long, that barely one and half page tiff isn't even a tenth of that =P
BR, I wouldn't try to quote anything from MC. He and ATD have been arguing most of this thread and I have been trying to stop it and try to get back some wrestling talk and just ignore the little argument they were having to prevent this thread from being closed.
I don't see the issue in anyone quoting what he brought up regarding Sting or The Undertaker. He brought up valid points in Sting and Taker's age, he just didn't want to hear any argument to validate the fact that Sting's age isn't an issue. Which it's not. Yes, Sting's 51, but it's not like he's out of shape and can't work a match. His lessened workload shouldn't be held against him, TNA's business decisions and workload are not his fault.
I went back and watched both of the 2.21.11 videos and I found something interesting. In the first video we saw 1 person walk to the cabin and go into the cabin. This second video, they show the guy standing outside the cabin and he disappears into the cabin when the door opens. Why would he go walk into the cabin in the first video yet in the second they make it seem like he just got to the front door and walked in for the first time, even though in the first video they showed him walking into the cabin already. Could this mean 2 people, could it be both Undertaker & Sting, as in a Tag Team?
I really think the whole Sting thing is most likely dead (he's apparently close to a new contract with TNA), unless the WWE is really hiding it well and using The Undertaker as a diversionary tactic. And if that is the case, then bravo to them, and props to you, JO, for calling it lol But I'm prepared for the very likely let down that the WWE is setting us up for.
That's cool, dude, whatever helps you sleep at night. It's really no skin off my back, as I'm fairly confident I can find more people who have the complete opposite opinion regarding me that you do. It's ridiculous that to say that I have a "complete lack of ability to participate in blah blah blah" when, quite frankly, I've been doing that in this thread since I made it. But like I said, whatever makes you feel better.
Anyways, I feel bad for Japanese children in the future, if this goes through:
Former WWE Women’s Champion Chyna stated last week to TMZ.com that she is taking night classes at UCLA and studying to teach English as a second language to children in Japan. She also indicated that she wants to move on from TV.Chyna clarified on Twitter that she’s “not retiring.” She added, “Working w/ Model House Talents agency. Learning Japanese to teach on the side. All my love. Health, happiness and love.”
She wants to move on from TV? What has she done recently to argue against that? Some VH1 reality and an episode of a TV Court Show where she won a whopping $4,000? I just cannot imagine this woman trying to teach the english language to japanese children. What happens if they mess up their spelling or grammar? Instead of a rap across the knuckles with a ruler, she body slams them though their desk?
In all honesty, I didn't want to see the movie because of Franco. I never really thought he was that good of an actor, but my opinion has changed after watching this movie.
Franco's really grown on me. Dude's got some range, can go from a stoner-commando in "Pineapple Express" to Harvey Milk's boyfriend in "Milk". Of course, there's the vengeful Harry Osborn in Spiderman, also.
Who's going to see Justin Beiber's movie? I know Jon, Nurps, and Wardy already have their tickets reserved.
Maybe this means we get to see Ryan destroy R-Truth again. I'd be down to see it again.
It's a shame that the last legit Tag Team was Miz & Morrison.
Does anyone think Dolph Ziggler will become the New World Heavyweight Champion on SD on Friday Night?
I'm half expecting the WWE to just do away with the Tag Titles soon. It's obvious that the tag division just isn't a priority to the company anymore.
I don't think Ziggler will be the new champion on SD. While the deck is certainly stacked, something will develop and Edge will be able to retain.
Has anyone seen 127 hours yet? One of the best movies this year IMO.
I haven't, not yet at least. I most likely will though, you can't go wrong with Franco.
That is so random. Paranormal Activity and POLICE ACADEMY?!? That movie came out in the 80's. How the hell did you let that one slip by.
Now you have to step up your game and watch all of the Police Academies. Get your Steve Guttenberg fill. Speaking of Steve Guttenberg. That movie "High Spirits" he was in was pretty good. Loved it as a kid.
Maybe he wanted to see two movies that could be abbreviated as "PA"?
Finally saw Police Academy and Paranormal Activity... I thought both were pretty good.
I'm looking forward to seeing Paranormal Activity 2.
I enjoyed the first Paranormal Activity myself, but that's not to say 2 is bad. If you liked the first, you'll definitely like the second. But be warned, it starts off much, much slower than the first.
I guess they could start another Dead Man character, but right now he's really the only super natural character in the WWE aside from perhaps Kane, and they both sure stand out from the rest of the roster. It's like when Tyler Black does debut it'll be similar to a Mason Ryan or a Daniel Bryan 2.0 debut.
First of all there is no need to be rude or hostile. Secondly that IS his background and it IS less impressive than Del Rio's. The fact is that when ADR debuted in the WWE everyone in Mexico was watching, and they continue to draw large mexican TV ratings. When Tyler Black debuts the IWC will be watching...it's just not comparable.
However, about things that matter, since when does a black trench coat automatically equal a dead man character? I can go out and buy a black trench coat, does that mean I'm the new "Dead Man"? Edge still wears his black trench coat, does that mean he's supernatural? Stop thinking of things in black and white.
Anyways, SEScoops is saying that the WWE is thinking about breaking up the Usos. Rikishi totally called that one. That's the one thing that really bothers me with the WWE, how much they ignore the tag team division. They had a great tag team in The Heart Dynasty, and what do they do? Split them up, David Hart-Smith is never heard from again, and Tyson Kidd gets a few appearance with a "big guy" who's also never heard from again. Now they have the Usos, who they hyped up when them debuted, laying waste to The Hart Dynasty, them they get dumped to Superstars and matches where they either always lose or have to dance instead. So who do we have as Tag Team Champions? Santino and Kozlov. It's pathetic, those two get slapped together hold the belt for months and the legitimate teams get ignore and later split up... dooming their careers.
What is this based on? I never saw him put on good matches in TNA. Also it's understandable for Undertaker to be more battered than Sting because for the last 10 years he's actually worked for a major wrestling federation. Sting has not.
I don't think Undertaker is exciting at all. I just know that Sting wouldn't be any better, and that those are the only two guys the promo could be. Unless Tyler Black has a black trench coat gimmick going for him. It's possible, I don't watch ROH because it isn't on TV. Still, it seems unlikely they'd hype a young guy who's never been in the WWE with such a promo.
As for Alberto Del Rio, all he had was a MMA background? That is false. He wrestled for a major mexican professional wrestling federation in which he held their world heavyweight title for 533 days. Del Rio is a huge star in Mexico and was so long before he came to the WWE. There is a significant difference between being a country's top wrestling star (which Del Rio was) and being a guy that a lot of the people on the internet really like because he's wrestled in some indy promotions.
Again, either you're not reading everything I say, or you're misunderstanding what I said. I said he wasn't anymore successful wrestling outside of the WWE (Del Rio: 1 Time World Champion. Black: 2 Time World Champion, 3 Time Tag Champion. That's both men's pre-WWE career), and the only thing he had over Black was an MMA career in addition to his wrestling career.
Who knows what Black's gimmick would be in the WWE. It's not like once you come up with your first gimmick when you start wrestling, you're stuck to it for the rest of your career.
Get over yourself, people don't just like someone just because "he's wrestled in some indy promotions".
Less than a year ago Undertaker had an incredible match against Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania. What is the last match Sting has had that anyone has talked about? What was it...Starrcade 98? Something like that? All of your criticisms of Undertaker are doubly so of Sting, except Sting refused to be in the WWE 10 years ago. His loss. Well, our loss really. Doesn't make him someone I want to see wrestle now though. 10 years ago definitely. Now...no thanks. Saw him on TNA. It was terrible.
Neither Tyler Black nor Seth Rollins deserve a special commercial promoting their WWE debut.
This commercial was going to be 1 of 2 things. Sting debuting in the WWE, or Undertaker returning for Wrestlemania, which we all knew he was going to do. It turned out to be the latter. The WWE gave no reason to suspect the former, it was just internet hype.
Okay, great, so once a year Undertaker puts on a good match. I'm sorry, you're right, he's very exciting... once a year. Too bad for the other 364 days, he's still the tired, out of shape, old man trying to pull off the gimmick of a Dead Man.
Secondly, apparently you're either not reading, or not understanding what I'm saying. Age isn't even the factor why another hyped Taker return is disappointing. I want something new, something exciting, who cares if it's a 51 year old Sting? Can you imagine the type of pop he would garner walking down to a WWE Ring? Who cares if it's for one match. But I digress, the fact is I was expecting something new, something different from this promo... not the same old, same old.
Lastly, Tyler Black and Seth Rollins are the same guy. When Black signed with WWE, he was renamed Seth Rollins in the FCW
However, I was just throwing names out there. However, you want to say that Black (who was rather successful in ROH) doesn't deserve a commercial? Did Del Rio deserve a commercial announcing his debut? He wasn't anymore successful than Black was prior to WWE. All Del Rio really has was a MMA background.
The fact of the matter is, if the WWE sees talent in a wrestler, they can and will hype their debut, especially a young talent.
Sting is 51... Who else did you think it may be that you are so disappointed?
So what if Sting is 51? It'd be someone new to the WWE, that'd be the draw factor, the proper usage of the hype. However, the age is not the problem, it's the fact that it's the same old, same old. There's absolutely no need to hype yet another Undertaker return, the dude's been returning nearly every year because he cannot stay healthy. That's the root the of the issue, that's where the disappointment lies. The Undertaker has been around for 20 plus years, he's no longer as exciting as he once was. Therefore, it's a wasted opportunity.
It could have been anyone else, anyone else new to the WWE, and I would of been happy. Sting, Tyler Black (or Seth Rollins, whatever), or someone completely unforeseen, I wouldn't have cared.
Johnny Cash...and the lyrics were saying "ain't no grave can keep my body down".
It's going to be the Undertaker.
Yay for hyping up a 45 year old who cannot stay healthy, is no longer the least bit intimidating, and goes overboard on the Just For Men. What a giant waste of a promising promo. The man has been wrestling since '90, he does not need a promo for his, what, eighth (I'm just throwing out a number) return.
I'm begging you, Mr. Calaway, call it a career soon. I'm tired of you, and it pains me to say it. You're not "The Phenom" anymore, you're not "The Deadman", you're just an aging old man. You just no longer entertain me.
New 2.21.11 Promo.... this time it zooms on the house, shows the door, the door opens and the camera goes to an view from inside, the guy appears and as he walks in he fades out and it ends with 2.21.11 appearing on the wood of the house with some song playing.
After that song playing in the latest promo... I have a sinking feeling we're all going to be disappointed and it'll be the Undertaker.
He might do something with Nexus or Corre. You just don't return something like a Nexus beat down and then act like it never happened.
I don't think it has anything to do with either. It'd make no sense for him to come on to comment on the Nexus, as no one currently in the Nexus was even involved in his attack. If he was going to address The Corre, he wouldn't be on Raw to do it, he'd be on Smackdown.

I'm surprised you're still breathing right now, Franny lol
