Guess who is not playing again? Jimmy Smith. I guess he'll be out until the season ends, and many of you will continue to think he's so great.![]()

Jimmy Smith is made of paper mache. He is hurt all the time. Some of you will, of course, continue drinking the Kool Aid. Calling people names does not change the fact. Grow up.![]()
The team needs to find a corner, or draft one next year, that actually plays and can cover the better receivers. As high as he was drafted, he has not been a good investment for this team. The team had chances to get corners in past drafts as well as receivers. Ozzie has failed at doing this. Accept it, and move on.![]()
I've never known a player that is hurt as much as this guy. Another atrocious Ozzie Newsome Pick. Jimmy Smith is not elite. He never was, so people should stop saying he is. Yeah he's elite. Elite at getting hurt whenever he goes against competition that will expose him for what he is. Our last great cover corner was Chris McAllister, but sadly he was a little bit crazy and wasn't heard from once let go from the Ravens. Jimmy Smith is slightly above average, but seldom plays because he's on the team to collect a pay check. Same goes for Joe Flacco, who plays but looks terrible most of the time.

Yes he should be. If Trestman isn't gone after this, the owner should make Harbaugh pack his bags along with Trestman and kick both out the door.

I THink Ozzie should go to. He continues to bring in lousy draft picks. But as someone already said, this is the stupidest moronic team that ever existed. Not only are they stupid, but they are lazy and Harbaugh is very weak and scared of his own players. We need someone like Bill Parcels to put his foot up some of these players butts. First of all, they need to fire Trestman like already. If he isn't gone after this game, then Harbaugh should be fired along with him.

This gives Wallace, a proven veteran more snaps and with Aiken, smith and Moore and Campanaro we have tremendous versatility.
Campanaro will soon be out because of a hamstring injury. I'm expecting it to happen anytime.

Is he available. If so, then I say yes grab him.
ANother Ozzie bust. He keeps getting these players that are made of glass. He must go if this draft fails again.
Steelers lost to us. They were swept for the season, losing the second in our stadium. That was a good late Christmas present for Raven's fans at the stadium and at home. ANother gift was seeing the Patriots go down today. I know that the Patriots loss doesn't mean that much because they are in, but it's wonderful seeing Brady and Bellicheick (sp) lose.
We are a bad team. Some people choose not to believe it and throw out excuses and reasons of why we should be better (injuries, schedule) and things along those lines. The Raiders are not a playoff team. Just because they beat us is not reason enough to make them a playoff team. We beat the Steelers, and for every intent and purpose should have lost, will their third string QB in the game.
Like someone stated before, one of the major problems on this team is that almost every player with big contracts seem to be regressing instead of progressing.
And who gave those players the big contracts?
I agree with firing Pees because something has to be done, but I don't think our defensive players should get off easy either. THey seem talentless, and could not stop even the worse receivers in the NFL. Webb needs to be gone after this season, as well as any other players with one year contracts for this season. I'd say get rid of Monroe, worthless and soft, but it would be too much dead money against the cap. The front office needs to stop giving out these silly contracts to players who aren't any good. Also, can the team please find someone else that can actually discover talent in the 2016 draft, and I mean talented players with no injury issues. Is there anyone out there? The Ravens need you.
GOOD = we did play a decent game today
BAD = mat schaub is done, season is done let clausen play
UGLY = refs, there is no excuse for the amount of bad calls, the bad calls are game changers.
National Fixed League.
I'll say it again:
The chickens have come to roost. All the years of neglecting our QB. Flacco's Demise was having no weapons and no O-line. Looks like Schuab's demise is gonna be the same thing. Front office doesn't learn. They stopped learning long ago.
THank you.
THe officials and the National fixed league. THey have blown so many calls on different teams which have cost these teams games. You can't tell me it isn't fixed. Too many blown calls, and they get worse every year.
Please, will people stop blaming our problems on Flacco's contract. As of right now, he does not hold much against the cap, and he will restructure next year when the contract inflates. The real problem lies with all the dead money from other stupid contracts, which OZZIE NEWSOME gave out to players who are really not worth it. Webb sucks, Smith sucks, Monroe is a waste, Ngata is no longer on the team, and neither is Ray Rice. Lets not forget Pitta, whom our front office, NEWSOME AGAIN, decided to give a new contract too after he broke his hip. OZZIE NEWSOME needs to retire NOW!!! He's lost it, or else he just stopped caring. His recent draft picks have been real head scratchers.
Yep. Blame Flacco when Schaub continues to be pick 6 Schaub. What is up with that. Of course, the real blame lies in lack of talent on the team thanks to our GM. I know, I keep beating that to death, but it's because many people on the forum don't seem to see how bad he's been drafting for a few years now. Heck, he never did manage to find a number one receiver, even when he had better drafts. Seattle is going to kill us next week. Wilson will have another 5 or possible 6 touchdown day. And their defense may return two pick 6s.
Talent and undisciplined played are major issues with this team, but I think a lot of this could be improved with better practices in the off season. I don't think this team ever really practices. THey are always hot and cold, mostly cold, and that is signs of a team not gelling because the practices are pathetic. Flacco should be getting his receivers together in the offseason. A friend of mine once said that when Flacco plays he is not fluid enough, and that is obvious with his hot and cold ways. THe entire offense always seems out of synch. At the end of lost games, reporters question if there are other options, and Flacco always seems to draw a blank. Two weeks ago when Urschel stepped in as the center and had several bad snaps, Flacco was asked if he ever practice snaps with him, Flacco's answer was he didn't. I believe this team is very lazy, and Harbaugh has no control over them whatsoever. True, a lot of the talent is bad, and you can blame Ozzie for that, but lack of talent can be improved with practice. Look at New England for instance. Besides Gronk, Brady does it with unknowns and does well. He does so because he practices with his receivers in the off season. Flacco needs to start doing this to prove that he wants to be better and wants to win. If not, well if he doesn't restructure, he should be let go. He is not an elite QB, and he shouldn't be paid like one, but his contract is not the only one that needs to be changed. Webb, J SMith, also need to restructure because they are not worth the money they are paid, and neither is Dumervil. A lot of money comes off the books this year, but I think this team should find more money anyway they can. THey are going to have to go the free agent route if they want to be better next year, and that takes lots of cash.
I don't think Harbaugh is our problem. What we are experiencing is a long period of sub standard drafting...Too long for Today's NFL. You can't blow your top picks like we've been butchering them the last five years. We haven't drafted any phenoms.
That said, I don't believe the team is responding to Harbaugh any longer. 8 years is a long gig in the NFL and we are at a complete rebuild juncture. Still, we need to address the root problem. We have a very old front office that has been entitled. Its time to address that.
Agreed about the draft. BUt some people just don't want to believe it, even though the proof is there, and has been clear as day since 2009. On your other note, penalties have cost us in the end too many times this year, and that does fall on the head coach. So in essence, I agree with you on that second as well.
Yup
Injuries on top of a lack of depth thanks to a ton of dead money in contracts.. It happens
Get rid of pitta this offseason get healthy have a good draft and next year will be completely different
Yeah but we've seen what our drafts have been like since 2009. What bothers me also is why they gave Pitta a new contract after he busted his hip. That really makes no sense.
I don't care how many games Harbaugh has been involved with winning for us since 2008, he needs to be fired and a good disciplinarian needs to be brought in as head coach. Too many dumb penalties this year have lost us games, and that is based solely on the crappy coach that is Harbaugh who does nothing to punish stupid behavior. He didn't want any challengers to his authority on the team, and this is what we get. Ray Lewis was the disciplinarian Harbaugh's first five years, along with Ed Reed. Harbaugh needs to go back to special teams. He is a lousy coach. We also need to get rid of Newsome, who forgot how to draft decently back in 2009, when his string of bad drafts began in overwhelming fashion. I know I am going to be criticized, but come on. THis team is the WORST TEAM IN RAVENS HISTORY. They are even worse than the 1996 team, and I never thought that could be possible. However, that team did have a great offense. This 2015 team really has neither. THis team needs a restart. TIme to blow it up and begin again.
Flacco absolutely DOES recognize the blitz. But his passing numbers against the blitz are bad because we don't have good weapons for beating the blitz. There are two pieces to the puzzle, the guy throwing the ball and the guy catching it. Joe isn't the league's best at quick release short field accurate passing, but he's not bad at it, the bigger issue is that he doesn't have great receivers to get the ball to. Outside of one injured 36-year old (and even he is not good with some of these things right now), our receivers aren't good at hot reads, they aren't good route runners, they aren't fast, they aren't physical, they don't have good hands, and they lack focus. Marlon Brown looks lost out there, he doesn't have a clue what he's doing. Aiken isn't much better, he doesn't have a focus issue but he isn't fast, doesn't run routes well, and has bad hands. Crockett is physical, but he isn't a good route runner, isn't fast, and doesn't always have the best awareness. It's really difficult to beat a blitz when you don't have all your pieces working in sync and making plays when they need to be made, and running the routes so they've got some separation and they wind up where they're EXPECTED to be, and playing the ball and going and getting it, and completing difficult catches. Those things are the hallmark of a good blitz-beating playmaker, and we don't have them, and without them, we are failing to beat the blitz, which is totally unsurprising. But Flacco is trying! He saw the blitz, he knows it's there, he knows what needs to be done to beat it... but it's not always that easy because you're not the only guy on the field, you rely on 10 other players to be in sync with you. What we really need is not a QB, but a serious investment in playmakers.
I agree with this 100%.
And who was it that drafted him again? I know, beating a dead horse, but I can't help it because some people still refuse to blame the real man responsible for so many bad drafts and the 1-6 record.
Yes the Ref looked right at Urshel as he reported as an eligible receiver. HE LOOKED DIRECTLY AT HIM. I don't wanna hear any more BS. THis has now become the National Fixed League. THere are way too many bad calls on too many teams too many times for this to be coincidental. You notice the Patriots rarely, if ever, have calls go against them. I guess that's what happens when the Pats owner is in bed with the commissioner of the NFL.
But it was all Joe Flacco's fault because the defense is just so awesome
Bad drafts are why this team is 1-6. THis team needs to clean house. Starting at the top and working right on down. I am done for tonight. Need to get up real early tomorrow to go to work.

Joe wasn't great, but the defense loss this game as they have many games this season when they had a lead. Some people say the defense was tired, but that is bull. THe Ravens offense owned time of possesion. THis defense is simply not that good when it comes to facing good offensive teams. There is also not enough playmakers on this team, or is it that they are just not being utilized as they should. This team had a lot of problems all around, and they really haven't been a really good team for a while.
