  1. Weren't the Ravens picked for the super bowl? Maybe refs as a group had money against us, or maybe they just don't like us.
  2. I don't think Jimmy Smith was ever fully healed. Defense is looking stronger, quicker. We just gotta stop making mistakes. Don't mind losing as much as handing them the win. Hope refs stop throwing so many flags on us. Ravens 7 penalties. Cards only 1. Does Flacco look slow coming off the line?
  3. Fair catch shoulda been called.
  4. My gut tells me upset, but my common sense tells me massacre. What the heck; I say we win.
  5. For all of the negative opinions on Pees and his schemes on this board (mine included), you have to wonder what the dbs are really thinking while they're talking to the press about how much better they themselves need to be. Like maybe; can we please get a new dc. Please? The only hope this game has is if we match them in points and somehow have a call or two go in our favor. Not likely, but would be nice.
  6. To me the worst part of this season is that there's still ten more games to go. For the last seven years we've been in the conversation near the end of each season as to whether we'll be in the playoffs. Always down to the wire, but it appears not to be this year. Will still root though. Still my team good or bad.
  7. Thank's pirate. I think it's the flu. I've had a history of bronchitis so I will be making a doctor's apt some time soon. Don't want to get off subject (Ravens) but appreciate your querry.
  8. Still lurking about. Was kinda numb after Cleveland game. Didn't have much to add to what was already being said. At this point just hoping for some wins and looking forward to seeing us get healthy again. GO RAVENS! Not to make excuses, but can't shake this cold for three weeks now. Not been in a posting mood much.
  9. One of the better good Samaritan stories I've heard in a while. Good story.
  10. If Joe wants to get to the post season then I think he pretty much has to trust them. Even if SSS comes back healthy, he's only going to be able to carry the WR load for so long. Joe needs to develop these guys now and yes I know Marlon and Kamar have been with the team awhile now, but they still need to be targeted more to get comfortable. This might be the perfect game for that. I want to think that Joe will spread the ball a bit more this game. I would also like to see Buck Allen get more playing time and maybe break out some high yardage plays as well as Waller. Looking forward to Sunday.
  11. See your point.
  12. I googled Givens at 194lbs. Maybe old info. Was actually talking close in height. 2" difference.
  13. Watching tape of Givens reminds me a lot of Tyler Lockett. Close to same size with quick burst of speed. Able to put separation between them and defender.
  14. Agree with everything said. However, QBs take whatever talent their given on the field, build chemistry, utilize that talent and lead their team the best and furthest they can. Perhaps some put too much on their own shoulders and count too much on themselves instead of becoming the general their team needs or just aren't made that way. I don't know. That was my point. His popularity comes a lot from being a cowboy. Not from being a great quarterback. Done, but feel free to respond. Sorry.
  15. If only stats won playoff games that would matter, but they don't. Past QBs that played for Dallas were known for getting their team to the playoffs or at the least be a consistent contender. As far as being on another team; well you could say that about other QBs as well. Who knows for sure how well he or they would've done, but considering how much attention he gets from the press, I don't think he's anything special. JMO.
  16. If he wasn't playing for the cowboys, he wouldn't even be notable. Guess being a quarterback for Dallas gives instant credibility no matter how mediocre you are.
  17. Agree with everything said. Just hope if SSS does come back that Joe doesn't fall back into the same habits of locking unto him so much.
  18. We now have the deep threat to pull off some defenders from the middle of the field. On the other hand, as I understand it, the Browns d-line isn't that great against the run, so that will bring their LBs closer to the line of scrimmage. So the middle of the field could be more open than it has been. With SSS, Gilmore and Campanao out, I think our current crew of recievers will get ample opportunities to show their worth. Find out Sunday.
  19. You are correct. Shouldn't have used the phrase 'abandon ship'. Either way, I will feel very bad for if he Torrey loses his bud so soon in a somewhat strange environment. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Was out all day and didn't get back til round midnight.
  20. Can't say I recall. Not trading for high end players is a strategy that's worked in the past. I mean look at how many times we've been to the playoffs in recent history. So much money goes out to some of these players and not too often do they pan out. Of course there's always the exceptions like Revis. Not that we couldn't use the help though.
  21. Steve smith. Steve Smith Sr.
  22. Hypothetical: Boldin supposedly entices Torrey to join him in frisco then abandons ship to go back to the team Torrey left in the first place to be in frisco with him?
  23. We can surmise forever. Is he not targeted because he isn't open? Drops balls? Gets tackled too easily? All the above? I don't like to give up on someone. Especially when I don't think they've had a fair enough shot. I think Joe tends to latch onto certain players like Sr to throw to and as I said, he dropped a lot of passes as well. Marlon may not be a #1 or even #2, but he has the kind of talent that could be worth cultivating. The only way to find out is to give him more shots at the ball. Maybe with Sr out, he'll be given the opportunity. We'll see.
  24. Ultimately, it's his responsibility, but the fact still remains that if you're not being targeted somewhat consistently, then you're going to have a harder time getting comfortable so your consistency will suffer as well. Could be wrong.
  25. Too early to give up on Marlon. Didn't SSS have a lot of drops last year. Season's still young. Just needs to get comfortable. In a way it might be good to have Sr out for now. Joe won't be able to use him as a crutch so often.
