  1. A win is a win despite how well or how poorly you played. It should not be taken away after you've worked so hard for it.
  2. At the time of my post I was suggesting that while it may not be probable, it was not impossible. Weirder things have happened in sports. The Yankees coming back from a 14 game deficit half way through the 1978 season to take their division, the Buffalo Bills coming back from a 32 point deficit to beat the Oilers. Can you say 1980 U.S.A hockey; do you believe in miracles? Also as I had stated before, we're not the only team with a losing record. Not so much enthusiastic as before, but yes, at the time of my post I was stating that it was and perhaps is still possible.
  3. I remember seeing 3 zeros on the clock before the snap and thinking the game was over. But no whistle was blown so I thought perhaps the clock was off. Are you kidding me? No reason this shouldn't be overturned. If it was New England you better believe they would overturn it.
  4. Actually as much as I hate to say it, I think we're a dumb team. It's one thing for rookies to acclimate, or a WR who suddenly becomes the #1 receiver to get comfortable becoming the main target, but when our senior players start committing mistakes that give the game away, not to mention the HC making bone headed decisions early in the game...
  5. Have to disagree. We had the game won despite bad calls and poor decision making. That was on us. What really hurts is that the D was actually playing pretty well.
  6. We deserved to lose that game.
  7. Buck Allen plays like a Raven.
  8. So ticd off at refs for calling that earlier play dead. Should be 21 - 3.
  9. Coulda kept them deep down field. Why take a chance? Now they have great field position.
  10. Agreed. Season's only half over. Let's at least wait until we're about four games out from playoffs. Knowing the Ravens, and the way they hang in there, that might be enough time.
  11. As some of us have been saying, Sr was a crutch for Flacco. With him out, the other recievers should be seeing more opportunities. I said should. As far as Marlon goes, I don't think he has that many more drops than most receivers. He just needs more opportunities to get comfortable and it might help if they were mostly in his catch radius. Hopefully Joe will spread it around more for everybody now.
  12. After Ray left, Suggs took no time at all filling in his shoes and becoming the vocal leader of this defense. Plus the opposing qbs don't have the fear in their eyes as before when he was on the field and aren't as hurried which helps with their passing game. While not yet knowing how good a player Perriman is going to be; I'd say that losing Suggs for the year was just as bad if not worse. Definitley not 2 - 6. Suggs was a difference maker, more like 5 - 3.
  13. Of course after you've put up yards you still have to score and of course you still have to stop the other team from scoring as well, but that doesn't negate my point that if you can establish position early in the game by keeping the other team deep in their own territory by not consistently allowing short passing first downs, that then you should get better field position yourself from their necessary punt. This gives you a shorter field and a more advantageous chance of reaching the red zone and scoring a field goal or td. Even if you don't get to the red zone, then you still have the opportunity of putting them back deep in their own territory by kicking the ball out of bounds beyond the twenty. In other words you're creating a possible pattern; you're making it easier for yourself and more difficult for them to score. By giving up short passing yardage just to stop the deep pass still allows them to move downfield. Red zone defense is extremely important, however, it's best not to allow it to get that far in the first place.
  14. As I had stated a couple days ago, the AFC does not have that strong of a record except for a few teams. Especially the south and there's still half a season to go. A lot can happen. Hopefully things will start to turn our way. I realize that we'd be getting there partly through the failure of opposing teams, but that's how this works; the last team standing wins.
  15. I would shave my head bald. Wait, I already do that twice a week. And what do they mean by if?
  16. LOL! Love it.
  17. It all comes down to the doctors opinion. We already know he wants to play and I assume that his family is backing him up 100%. If the hip truly is healed and he does come back, I think he will make a difference for this team not just this season but for years to come. As far as our other TEs, which of them is better than a healthy Pitta? The only one I wouldn't trade him for is Gilmore. Not putting down Boyle or Max. Just saying we know what we have in Pitta which is a proven receiver who can get open. I'll respect his decision and wish him the best regardless.
  18. I am impressed.
  19. Okay, thanks.
  20. Then why does Pees insist on using so much zone coverage if we don't have the personnel to properly play such coverage? You have to use the scheme that fits your personnel. At least play some man to man and maybe crowd the receiver a bit instead of allowing a catch and then missing the tackle. In other words, if the other team wants the ball, then make them fight for it.
  21. I thought I remember Dr. Harbaugh suggesting he might return. Oh well, like I said, wishful thinking.
  22. Maybe, but how far off is too far? And if that's true then why aren't our dbs getting turnovers, or are they just not quick enough? Need to close the gap in more.
  23. And if I might add, I think there's a correlation to the lack of turnovers and the fact that we're playing so far off the receiver just as playing so far off is allowing so many yards to the opposing team. Frustrating.
  24. Disagree about yards allowed not being as important. What wasn't mentioned (unless I missed it) is field position. If you can establish a consistency of keeping the opposing team deep in their own side of the field by not allowing so many first downs, then you might get better field position yourself on the receiving end of the punt. This I believe can be the deciding factor or at least a big part of a win. JMO.
  25. I agree that being practical doesn't make you less of a fan, but then again being optimistic doesn't make a person necessarily less practical if they can give a decent reason for their optimism. 1: We might finally have a speedster in Givens who can stretch the field pulling the opposing secondary off the line of scrimmage. 2: Perriman may be returning in a few weeks (hopefully less) which would give us even more of a weapon down field. 3: Urban is back. (finally). 4: (Wishful thinking?) Suggs may return? 5: If you look at the standings, not many teams in the AFC have that good of a record especially the AFC south and there's still half the season to go yet. A lot can happen. Wild card? 6: Flacco. 7: I've said this before; I think having SSS out will actually help. These younger guys need to step up and I believe that they will now that they get more opportunities. 8: Rothlessburger is out hurt. At this point who knows how long. Sorry; I know that sounds terrible but it's football and it may or may not make a difference in helping us get closer to a wild card berth. The only serious down side I see is Pees' system. Not saying that we even make it to the playoffs or even finish with a winning season. Just not ready to be less than optimistic.
