Bottomline is that Mallett is a jerk but decent QB. The Pats let him go because he didn't get along with Billichick. I compare him to Cutler. I say let him back up Flacco next year and maybe draft the QB of the future 2016.

I dread to watch the next 2 games. What I saw from the Raiders game was abysmal. Big Ben and Dalton are going to come out throwing and never stop. We are going to get embarrassed in Pittsburgh if the defense looks even close to the way it looked in Oakland. They have to get bodies ready to rush the passer and do it on a consistent basis. Stunts, blitzes whatever. The season is over if we fall to Cincinnati on Sunday, the schedule is too tough to come back from 0-3. Perriman is our only deep threat and we can't get him on the field. If they were going to trade for something they should have traded for a receiver. If we can't stop anybody, let's try to outscore them.

Steve Smith holds onto the ball against Denver we win, Flacco throws the ball normally to a wide open Smith against Oakland we win and we are 2-0. We are 0-2 and are serious trouble. Teams starting out 0-2 have about a 13% chance of making the playoffs and we are in arguably the best division in the NFL. If the Raiders put up 37 points on our defense, the Bengals will put up 50, and the Steelers get LeVeon Bell back and they'll put up 60. The Bengals game at home next week IS the season. We go 0-3, they will be 3-0 and it will be next to impossible to get back into it. It doesn't help that we have no deep threat at all at receiver. Even when Perriman is cleared to play, he is a rookie with no experience and we have no idea how effective he will be. I try to remain optimistic because I trust Ozzie and Harbaugh, but what I saw today was pretty shocking. I haven't seen a Ravens defense play that bad since the first 2 seasons in Baltimore.

Adam Gase is the best option with Kyle Shanihan going to Atlanta. Lane Kiffin may leave Alabama for SF. Tom Herman from Ohio State would be great but he is the new U. of Houston coach. It's not helping Joe to have a new staff every year and yet he keeps winning. He played much better against New England than Luck did.
