I believe that they used the words "no structural damage" with that.... I wouldn't put much into that. I am a firm believer that Harbs doesn't want to "reveal too much of his hand".
He's also stated that he wants to get out of the business of relaying injury info. With the knee issues Perriman had as a youth, he may heal a bit slower. Though, I've also read that it's likely not having any affect on his recovery. Regardless, it's been a good oppurtunity for the other WRs in camp.

It is on Rotoworld off of the PFT website. Jamison Hensley reported it on Twitter apparently. Nonetheless, it seems like it is inline with their "bone bruise/sprain" diagnosis from a little while ago. It just seems odd if it is true why Harbs said his MRI came back normal. He seems to be making progress so if he gets out there next week it wont matter anyways.
If he missed week 1, then I'll have some concern. Bone bruises are no joke, and neither is a PCL sprain, no matter what grade. I'd much rather him miss all of preseason, than to come back too early.
Anyone have a link to the reports of a sprained PCL for Perriman? I have not been able to find that.
Regardless, he'll be fine. No need to rush anyone back before week 1.
It's nice to hear Flacco state that he's already taken a big pay day, and that it no longer matters as much. The reality is that he knows the Ravens will offer him a generous extension, and he's probably not going to break the bank. He'll still be up there with the top 5 or so in average salary, but the cap hits will likely be a bit more friendly. With the rising cap -- Joe, the Ravens, and us fans should be in a great position for the next 5-7 years.
Sorry y'all, but I'm not buying Melvin as Webb's replacement. If Webby plays anything like he did at the end of last season, we'll be just fine. Sure, he might not start 16 games, but he's going to be the starter.
Joe Flacco is elite, and you will never tell me otherwise.
I bet it exploded.
Explosions take time to heal.
"Nothing serious. A couple days. Maybe a week."
Why all the Webb hate? Dude is nothing but a team player, and a solid one at that. Sure, maybe he's not the elite shutdown he once was close to obtaining, but he played pretty damn well at the end of last season.
If QBs are going to choose a weaker corner to pick on, I'd rather it be Webb than anyone else out there.
I think Odell was more polished then Breshad. But i do agree that Perriman could miss another week or so and still be ok for the 3 preseason game moving forward. I think this offense will be just fine without Perriman if he's forced to miss a little time. The way this offense appears to be ran it won't require much speed, but having Perriman will take the offense over the top.
He's not cleared to practice but listening to Harbs it sounds like he's still getting in plenty of work and i'm one of those guys whi believe it doesn't take Flacco long to get chemistry with guys. So i think as soon as he's ready to go he'll step into the offense and not miss a beat imo. Much like Odell did as you pointed out.
OBJ was certainly a bit more polished than Breshad. But, I think Breshad carries enough natural talent that missing reps, and a few preseason games, will mostly be forgotten once the season starts. A bone bruise is nothing to sneeze at, and in my experience can take many weeks to heal (without having access to the best medical care on the planet). Expectations for Perriman are probably a bit high in his rookie season, but I really do think he's going to be groomed as a number one for many years to come.
Whether things pan out that way or not, it should be fun to watch. I don't expect him to breakout this season, but I do expect him to have a solid rookie season. His timing may be the biggest issue after missing TC and preseason games. As Sfledgend above mentions, there's a good possibility that he will slowly build into a great WR, instead of taking the league by storm right away. That's fine by me.
Welcome to (being a member of) the forums!
I am a little bit more concerned about Breshad to be honest. The Ravens have a tendency to downplay all injuries, which is obviously strategic, but also misleads us fans. If we look back to last training camp, some of the injuries that were described as minor actually continued to linger during the season and were detrimental to how we played. Lardarius's back injury comes to mind immediately.
Hopefully they're just being extra cautious, but we really need Breshad out on the field learning the plays with everyone else. This is a critical time where he has the opportunity to mesh with Joe. Once the season starts, its hard to get everyone on the same page when you have some players that haven't been out on the field as much as others.
That being said, we are very deep at WR and I think we'll be able to make it work even if Breshad sits out for a few more days.
Could not agree more. It's really frustrating to have to hear "a few days" or "a week or two" and then lose one of our best players for the season. I take everything that Harbaugh states around injuries, with a grain of salt.
I think this is probably pretty minor, but Perriman needs to be back out there ASAP. Of course, I would much rather him mis a week or two of camp, than missing any time during the season.
I personally think they are fine, although breshads knee is taking a lot longer to heal then expected. By the way this is my first post, so hi guys!
Hey y'all, this is also my first post, but I've been lurking here for years.
I think they're being extra cautious with Perriman because they really expect him to take the reigns by season's end. There's no doubt in my mind that they drafted him to be Joe's counterpart for the rest of his career. He'll be just fine, but I think we all know that you can double or triple up when harbaugh says "a few days."

So, KO has an achilles injury (from being stepped on two weeks ago) and may not be ready for week 1. I really hope we're looking to extend Yanda, and have him reitre a Raven. I love KO, but the long term investment may be better spent elsewhere.
