What do you guys think about how Dixon perform in tonight's game? Could we see the changing the guard in our mini bye? Dixon the new #1 back? Or will twest still be heavily featured with Dixon in on passing downs.

I think it's still West. West has some polish that Dixon doesn't quite have yet, and they both have the ability to bowl over people. The 1-2 punch could be deadly if we learn to scheme it right. Still think Dixon could be a #1 in the coming years.

Not trying to boast but in the Next Up Browns thread I called Flacco 62% or better, 250 or more yds and 3 TDs with one to Perriman on a spectacular catch.

And that McCown would get in the game.

Proud of that one. Pretty specific and on point.

Pretty sure you're the real w1zard around here now. That is oddly specific.

Y'all loved to crucify Michael Oher when he got penalized, but I don't think he ever got flagged 4 times in one game like Stanley did yesterday, even when he was a rookie for us. We should have traded up for Ramsey or Elliott because Stanley doesn't know how to block without being penalized. When he can even make it on the field he hasn't had a game all year without a penalty. Bring on the negs for frying our golden boy future franchise cornerstone of a left tackle...

You do realize we'd have no LT right now, right? Like, we'd literally have Hurst out there every game.

The negs are because you don't seem to understand how hard LT is to pick up. The fact that Stanley is out there starting, with a rookie LG next to him is pretty much unheard of. The Ravens were the first team to start a rookie at LT and LG in 25 years. They aren't prefect? Whine harder, because otherwise you get Hurst as a permanent fixture. He also missed the last 4 games with an injury. Pretty sure an 80% Stanley is still better than Hurst.

  4. At this point, Flacco still seems pretty scared back there. He's tossing some errant throws, and he's pretty hesitant in general. I don't think that's a indictment of his final years here though. I think that's more an indictment on a poor OL and his new injury history.

People who want him gone better get over it. He's here for at least a few more seasons, so maybe start cheering for his resurgence, rather than his demise. Complaining will not change that.

We need an OC that will be here for a couple years, and we need the OL to gel. Run game + OL = better Flacco. This has been proven over and over.

Yeah but a lot of their better picks didn't necessarily come from early draft picks. They did well in the later rounds.

Look at 2012... Derek Wolfe at #36, Malik Jackson at #137, Danny Trevathan at #188 (absolutely crushed 5th and 6th round picks).

Their first round picks have been sort of hit or miss. They don't have any real "busts" in there, but some of those guys are just average players.

Sports radio out here was just saying that outside of Wolfe, Elway's day two picks have been almost all flops. Their late rounders are great though. and CHJ was a UDFA.

  6. My two cents;

Kubiak leaving had a crippling affect on our rebuild, and Joe's play. Joe doesn't get a pass on his poor play, but he does get a crutch this season coming back from a major injury, and for dealing with the Trestman carry over. He also has to deal terrible line play, and no run game.

That does not excuse his play under pressure, overall. It's been a disaster. But, I imagine he's pretty much done with getting hurried every single play, and having no time in the pocket. This leads to a huge drop in his usually steady confidence, and therefore we see his mechanics go out the door, and his demeanor drop like a rock. The dude is flat out rattled. He's playing scared.

How do we fix this? I think it's pretty clear --- OLine + Run game. We need an OC who will go this route, and Trestman was never it. I think Trestman was a slight desperation move, and Kubiak leaving crippled the organization last season, and again right now. It set our rebuild back by two years. If Joe is throwing 25-35x a game, I think he can be the guy who we know he can be. Until then, I don't know much changes.

This team has a ton of potential over the coming years, but it is going to take a solid scheme for Joe to get his play back on track.

Man it happens all the time. In fact it's happening right now in politics. There is no difference here. Harbaugh is done in Baltimore - just open your mind to the new and exciting possibilities if we can get Kyle Shanahan or Josh McDaniels  in here. A new and fresh start. Hit the reset button. Reboot the system. Change is good!

    No thanks.

I don't know about that- but resting him through Saturday wouldn't be a bad idea. John has already said he obviously doesnt have to practice at all this week to play Sunday. Sitting him through the bye is risky- considering at this point in the season this game is as close to a must win as your gonna get. If he can't go he can't go and I have faith in mallet to be serviceable, but we obviously need Joe out there if hes able to suit up. Here's a question.. If Joe doesn't go- do we keep him active as an emergency qb or do we bring up a backup from the p.s!? Can't go into the game with just Mallet active. And if joes good enough to be active then he's good enough to start. It would be interesting to see in practice how many reps or how involved David Fales  is since he's the qb on our practice squad. That would give a good indication on the status of Joe. Surprised nobody has asked that question to harbaugh. Hey Hester's still ailing- bring up Reynolds as the returner and emergency backup, kill 2 birds and what not....

    I'm kidding.

I hope he plays. I just hope it doesn't create any longer term issues. I'm sure he's going to want to though, but I do think Mallet can get it done this week. If Mallet does play, I just hope it's the last time this year.

You can tell who watched all 20 years and who hasn't.

So true. This place is somewhat more rational than some other forums, but we added a lot of fans in the 2011-2012 seasons, who clearly weren't around when things were really bad.

People complain about Jimmy, or Wright, but do they remember Frank Walker? People complain about Flacco, but were they here when our coveted QB was actually a bust? People complain about our offense still, but do they remember when the D was tasked with actually having to win our games? In hindsight, while I do miss the defensive dominance, I still think we're a better team when balanced. We're not great this year, and we haven't been great since 2012, but we weren't great (for a long stretch) then either. Not until it mattered most.

We wont see much of a drop-off with Doom being out, since he hasn't been himself in these past couple weeks, however, given the fact that it seems more likely that we're not going to see the old Doom back at any time this year is a major concern. Mosely out is not good - but McClellan should fill in OK.

Its the totality of the injuries along the offensive line that may kill us (and Joe). Losing Yanda is a disaster. Its starting to look like the secondary from a couple years back, where the thinnest unit on the team to start the season is getting ravaged with injuries.

All of that said, I'm done with injuries being an excuse for poor play. Back ups have to be better than they've been for us in recent years and coaches are going to have to do a better job of scheming to hide weaknesses. Find a way to win ... rather than the last 2 weeks where we found a way to lose - at home ... and in the case of the Skins ... against a pretty bad team.

Other teams are handling their losses ok. I mean, the Vikes are ... well that's an outlier, but you're absolutely right that our depth needs to step it up. Even with the 2014 secondary, we won 10 games and almost 2 playoffs games. The line is a serious issue, but if they can hold on the next two weeks, I think the bye comes at a perfect time.

also if you dig deep into my mock drafts you'll see who i really wanted.

players who are doing really well now. I've got a lot more right than the FO did with their picks.

Well, you should probably send your resumé over to 1 Winning Dr.

I get annoyed with Flacco bashing sometimes but I still love this forum, better than Reddit and RSR, and that includes @wizard1 and @Sami84Wizard is pretty funny honestly

Reddit is full of whiny kids. There's some bashers over here, but they can mostly form opinions, and have a little bit more perspective than on /r/ravens

    Rodgers - No questions here

    Brady - Still no questions

    Luck - Nope. Poor decisions.

    Newton - No, doesn't fit our system/team

Ben - I can see this argument

    Rivers - No

Brees - Maybe 7 years ago

    Carr - What?

    A.smith - Are you joking?

    Prescott - What is this?

    Manning - Which one?

Ryan - Eh, he's... Joe. Just not as elitey

    Bradford - Huh?

I definitely think its time to show Harbaugh the door. Yes, I do think Josh McDaniels is an ideal replacement and yes I did suggest before the draft that we let Flacco go, we keep Kelechi Oselmele, we trade our first and second round pick, ( which turns out to be to be Stanley and Correa ) and move up in the draft and select Carson Wentz and save ourselves about $80 mil. But as always my suggestion was met with a few guffaws. I might add the exact same people who were laughing at that idea are the same ones who had their pom poms out for Marc Trestman and even Ray Rice.

Is this a joke? You must be trollin...

Your suggestion was met with a few guffaws because it's a poor suggestion.

he was on course for interception madness last year until his injuries. Flaccos seasons are as follows

    2008: C

    2009: B-

    2010: B+

    2011: C-

    2012: C-

    2013: F

    2014: B+

    2015: D

    2016: C-

he's an average QB with a big arm that has a spurt here or there. His spurt game in the post season in 2012. We also had to rely on some amazing plays from boldin and jones. Flacco should still be paying those guys some..

Blah blah blah. Get over it. He's our QB, he's gonna be our QB, and you're in the extreme minority of those who think he should go.

What's your answer to replacing Joe? I've asked before, but you seem to be in short supply of actual solutions.
