  1. Gotta agree with a lot of what is being said here. The Broncos didn't scheme anything flashy, they just have a wealth of talent on the D. A lot of those guys are geting paid after this. Trevathan, Jackson, Ware are probably hitting FA. But, maybe they retain Jackson. Vonn is obviously getting paid. Talib is a [profanity deleted], but he's solid. CHJ was an UFA iirc. Stewart was able to focus entirely on his own game because of the talent around him.
  2. Denver has a fine play-caller on the defensive side, and they are just loaded with talent. Why do you think Stewart has been so good there? It's because he can focus solely on his position, and doesn't need to be worried about the players around him. Remember that this Denver D was not healthy in the SB two years ago, so that's another factor. I can't stand Elway or the Broncos, but credit is due here for building an absolute bully on D. They are rushing four most of the time, and Vonn is just perfect on his timing. Ware is a beast too. This comes from very good coaching and genuine talent. Ravens need to get a couple playmakers, stay healthy, and play to their talents. Denver has done that all season.
  3. True, and I doubt they really want to wait anyway. The only rationale I can see behind it would be health issues, and from what we've heard Joe is ahead of schedule. Or, the FO playing games with Linta to drive a bargain (obviously they won't). It would certainly be in everyone's favor to just get it done now.
  4. I'm sure it's tempting for them to sit on the contract this coming season, especially considering the Ravens have more leverage after, but I have a feeling they will get something done soon.
  5. Flacco isn't up for debate as far as being a franchise QB. Some people need to their eyes checked.
  6. No, I gave him credit for much more than that. But, you refused to touch any of that because it's true. Who you rather be the coach of this team? What's your solution? Name that coach. Also, what evidence do you have of Reed being a good coach outside of his time on the field? I'm glad I haven't lived in MD for 12 years and can see things a little more objectively. Some people on this board do nothing but complain about having one of the best coaches/franchises in the NFL. And everyone outside of the local area knows it. Ask Broncos/Pats fans what they think of Harbaugh, and no, not the internet trolls. Real fans.
  7. Can't tell if sarcasm... or...? Harbaugh is one of the reasons we won the super bowl. He's the person who brought the team back from their mutiny, and coached this team on a wave of emotion to a Lombardi. He's the person who shifted the OL going into the playoffs, who called the safety to end it all. He's also out-coached Tomlin 8-3 in the last 11 meetings, made a run at NE with 19 starters on IR last year, and kept this team from going 2-14 this year. The homerism over Reed is insane. I love the guy, but who knows if he'll be any good as a coach, and personally I couldn't care less to find out w/the Ravens on his first try.
  8. Seriously. It's not a big deal. If the Ravens decide they want Reed back as a coach in a few years, then that is great. Otherwise, there's not reason to reach on him as a coach right now. Rex is against the wall and needs to do everything he can to retain a job up there. I hope Ed does great, and I wish him well, but I don't think having him back as a coach would be a smart move anytime soon. Nostalgia isn't the way to win games.
  9. Same here. The freak out over this is a bit much. Who knows how he'll do, but I hope he does great.
  10. We swept the Steelers, and came within a few plays of splitting w/the Bengals. No need to panic. Cinci has been a thorn in the side for years now, and if we can find a way to cover AJ Green more consistently, I'm not scared of the bungles.
  11. For real, figured he'd be a hot commodity as an offensive coordinator.
  12. I'd like to see it happen for continuity purposes. There's a question of health with KO too, though. It would certainly be nice to have his versatility, and allow Jensen to step up as well. That could leave Urschel as depth, but I guess they'll have to battle it out in TC. Not a bad problem to have.
  13. So it's not out of the question entirely. But almost entirely rides on Joe getting an extension and other moves being made. Or, just signing KO and pretty much no one else.
  14. What about KO? In theory, if we signed him to a deal... What do you think the structure would look like over the course of it?
  15. Personally, I think you keep Zuttah. He's not a world beater, but he's really solid and didn't have many injuries before this season. The more continuity on the line, the better.
  16. This was posted right before; Flacco said that he hasn't talked to anybody about contract. But with a 28.5 mill cap hit next year, he knows it likely will be addressed https://twitter.com/jeffzrebiecsun/status/684102242144776196 I wouldn't put much thought into the other comment. It's out of context.
  17. I would like to believe that Flacco/Linta feel a sense of urgency as well. Getting that extension done before FA would be a huge deal for the coming season.
  18. Lol, thanks. I had to think long and hard to find any reason, and those reasons are not great.
  19. I'll give three reason for the sake of argument. I'll preface this by saying I believe we should make a change, and move on from Pees... 1.) Continuity — When Pees has had a full squad, he's been ok. Average overall. His best year was 2013 and towards the end of this year he had a few solid game plans. 2.) Suggs — Probably the biggest problem this season was losing Suggs. Without Suggs, the scheme changes, there's much less pass rush and the secondary is hung out to dry. They aren't good, but they could be better. 3.) Playmakers — If we had a couple more, especially in the secondary, maybe Pees D can work better. Ok, that was a stretch, and honestly, I was reaching on the last point. Again, I think we should move on, but for argument's sake... there you have it.
  20. It's pretty obvious that some here are not watching the same Ravens the rest of us are. Anyone who thinks Mallet is better, more confident, or poised than Joe, is simply not paying attention. Ask Patriots' fans what they think of Joe.
  21. Let's give Trestman his fair shake at a healthy offense. I wasn't a fan of his hire, but I'm pretty excited to see how well he performs with a healthy Perriman/Flacco/SSS and 2-3 solid RBs.
  22. Regardless of what happens with KO, it speaks volumes about the FO being able to see his potential across the line. He's either coming back, or netting us a sweet comp pick. The FO has been under the gun this season, rightfully so in some aspects, but they still know the system better than most.
  23. I agree with this. Many franchise QBs have come back better after ACL injuries. It's speculative, but I read somewhere that for most of these guys, it's the first time they are really focused on watching the games instead of preparing/playing them. It gives them a chance to reevaluate their mental game and pick out their mistakes. Flacco's best seasons are ahead of him, barring any health concerns for him or the team.
