  1. That list gives a pretty good indication that we want DBs and pass rushers, not that anyone would guess much differently. Also not to say we wouldn't stray from those for BPA elsewhere, but it's a good look into the FO's needs assessment too.
  2. Actions speak louder than words.
  3. Easily. Frazier could replace him if need be. Pees will have a short leash this year.
  4. The contender comments are hilarious. Also, some of the people on the Ravens subreddit are delusional. Oh, and don't bother with PFT. You probably already know that though.
  5. I read 9 million this year, but with 0 detail on how it's allocated, 13 GTD. We will see.
  6. Seems savvy to me. Basically gives us two years to find the next best thing, while also giving us the chance at retaining him through his twilight if his play holds up. Smart, better than backloading it.
  7. I think we'd still take him if given the chance. He's the future, Weddle is the now.
  8. True, but with all the restructures Webb has been given, he has the leverage unless someone else is signed. But, yeah there's no way he plays up to his current contract. Dude deserves a pay cut, but he's smart enough to know he doesn't have to take one.
  9. May not be so much decline as just staying healthy. Could add up though. I certainly wouldn't be upset if we signed him, just cautiously optimistic that he can play 12-16+ games over the next few years. There's a decent chance Webb is gone if this happens. I imagine Weddle has a better chance at playing a full season than Webb does.
  10. I'm not 100% sold on Weddle. He'd be a good addition, but I think he's also a liability due to recent injuries. At 32, he's right on the line between solid vet and potential baggage.
  11. That seems to be the speculation on twitter, not that it's worth much.
  12. Didn't think about this but you're right. Mallet would have gotten paid on the open market this year. He would probably have some trade potential if we had anyone behind him.
  13. That's freaking interesting. Assume he'd be a better pass catcher than blocker, but I don't really know his skill set.
  14. True on Wagner. Williams is going to get a boat load of money if we don't lock him up before FA next season. I would be thrilled if they were able to do this. The money that was handed out yesterday is insane, as usual, and will only get worse next year.
  15. Could that mean they're possibly clearing space to sign their own? Brandon Williams/Wager?
  16. Think so? I have a feeling that unless it's Tunsil, they will skip Stanley. Seems like they are comfortable enough with developing later round OL picks. At least, that's my hope.
  17. I think he's more valuable to us for the coming season. At $2+mil, he's a steal, and it it gives us another year to see what he really has. On the flip side, he's probably worth about $4 mil more than we're paying him in this crazy market... So...
  18. Cap space is still pretty limited. I think maybe Wallace and Beachum are possible. However, there will need to be some additional cuts if we're signing anyone else in the near future. http://overthecap.com/salary-cap/baltimore-ravens
  19. Agree on Arrington, but pretty interested to see what happens with Webb if a FS is signed. Seems obvious they'd ask him to take a pay cut.
  20. Over the cap has it updated already. He basically goes from a 8+- mil/yr to 10ish mil/yr over the duration. Not sure how that compares to others in the NFL, but it's not the end of the world. http://overthecap.com/salary-cap/baltimore-ravens
  21. Ozzie was quoted recently as saying that he expects Maxx to make the 2nd year leap. I can't see this signing impeding any progress. In fact, it may help him.
  22. http://overthecap.com/salary-cap/baltimore-ravens Updated post-D. Smith cut.
  23. Ya know, I was gonna say it. I didn't though. He has a couple holding companies I believe, so it wouldn't surprise me at all.
  24. So, a couple things here. In the presser, OZ stated that the reason this deal got done was because both Joe and Steve wanted it to happen. It had less to do with cap space, and Oz reinforced that they were prepared to go either route. The cap savings is great, it helps both sides, but it wasn't the end-all be-all for the contract. As for Brady. Well, his wife is worth 3-4x as much as he is. He can afford to take these extensions every year or two and he's still getting GTD monies with the lower cap hits. He has also had a couple sizable contracts, and will be playing into his 40s. He's a poor example. Guys like Cutler, Wilson, Rodgers, etc are better examples of the market value.
