just sayin, hes gonna have to push it at some point, whether he gets hurt now or in week 1 when he really does push it against a top flight WR like bebe.
if he cant run full speed without worries of an injury, his NFL days may be numbered
I completly agree with you. I think thats a first for me. Lol kidding
Just sayin... don't think Webby is gonna push it with his history of leg injuries.
I honestly hope your right, still nervous though.
I hear ya, but then again a wrist injury and a hamstring injury are kinda different.
True, that was just example though.
He's had a little of a hamstring... that would be why to not push it.
CJ Mosley is coming off of wrist surgery, but its been said multiple times that he isnt letting up at all.
I've seen quite a few ppl bring this play up as evidence that Waller is playing well in practice, even to the extent that he's our best receiver right now...
People are making it sound like Waller did something exceptional to beat Webb or that it's impressive bc Webb is a starter.
Reads to me like Webb turned to run with him and immediately pulled up bc of his hamstring locking up on him.
Essentially Waller runs uncovered up the field and makes the wide open grab to walk into the endzone. Nothing but a simple pitch and catch with no defense.
not trying to be a wise guy, but did it really say that? i dont remember that at all. might have forgot.
He's not going to push it. It's training camp, and he isn't competing for a roster spot. Why would he risk it? He'll make an effort, sure, but he's not going to hurt himself.
That doesnt mean he couldnt try to keep up with waller. The post said the pass went well over his head. But everyone has a bad play sometimes. But there are other sure to be starters who have haad great camps this year.
apparantly webb hasn't been impressive in camp.
i don't trust him. I think he's done.
I'd pull a trade with mid round pick for another corner.
Im not sure which way to go on this one. I think he is still good, but i noticed he gave up a 60 yard TD bomb to waller, which is a bit odd.
Just got the alert that SSS will be retiring at the end of the season.
sad news. but remember, he plays best when trying to prove something, and im sure he wants to go out with a splash.
Rookie receiver Darren Waller beat Webb on a seam route down the sideline that went for about a 60-yard touchdown. Quarterback Joe Flacco hit Waller perfectly in stride and the big receiver cruised into the end zone. If you didn't know better you'd think Darren Waller was our 1st round pick.
Lol true. I think this was a huge moment for waller, showing he can make plays deep and not just in the RZ. And he beat one of our starting corners in the process.
7 shoulder injuries & their back up QB gets hurt... wow
Didn't see ur post Skoal. Great minds think alike lol
Lol i can agree with that.
I posted this about a week ago, and haven't updated this, but our injury situation doesn't seen nearly as bad when compared to what the Steelers have gone through:
Senquez Golson CB: shoulder
Mike Mitchell FS: ankle
Shamarko Thomas SS: shoulder
Martavis Bryant WR: elbow infection
Maurkice Pouncey C: leg
Ryan Shazier ILB: shoulder
Gerod Holliman S: leg
Ross Ventrone S: ankle
Cortez Allen CB: shoulder
Jarvis Jones OLB: bicep
Bruce Gradkowski QB: back
Josh Harris RB: shoulder
Steve Mclendon DT: shoulder
DeAngelo Williams RB: shoulder
Mike Adams OT: back
Wow, whats with all of the steelers getting shoulder injuries? Its happening on offense and defense too. Lol not that im complaining.
Agreed. People holding out hope that we will get a glimpse at Perriman in the first preseason game, I'm going to disappoint you right now instead, he ain't playing.
Now that that's out of the way and you aren't expecting him to play, there is an outside shot he plays lol. Especially if he can get back in practice early next week. I just don't want people expecting him to play and ending up disappointed. Count on him not playing and that way it will be a pleasant surprise if he does play instead of an unexpected disappointment if he sits that game out.
Lol thought you were trying to be a downer at first. Thanks.
this is bad news. in addition to the fact that he looked to be an impact player we really need depth on the line after losing nghata. its a tough life being a football player. here is a 4th round draft choice with great promise and in his first two years he hasn't even made it to a preseason game without a season ending injury. its a good thing we resigned cant.
Its awful this happened to someone with potential like him, but the dline will have to do without him, maybe later in the season he will come back and make plays.
it appears to me he is still clicking with joe at practice. reports of him being pretty reliable in the redzone along with some videos of him highpointing the ball in traffic, i dont think its that hes not doing well at practice...
he is buried on the depth chart because hes a rookie with which we gave up little for in terms of investment. if he were to take a spot on the depth chart ahead of aiken or brown or camp who have all seen solid game action with us, or if he were to take a spot over butler who has had raving reviews at camp for 2 years straight, it would cause a bit of an uproar from the semi-vets. for a guy like waller to take a spot over a guy like marlon, aiken, campanaro, or butler this early, he would have to look like a clear cut top 2 receiver on this team.
I agree with you, i even said before that he had good potential, i probably should have considered that he is a late round rookie, and this is expected. But he did struggle the past day or two, which could just be good play by our defenders. Joe even put the ball down and showed waller and the others how he wanted the routes ran, which i thought was a great move. Eigther way, the receivers (hopefully waller as well) will do pretty good.
From all the reports that reporters have been dispensing you'd think that Darren Waller was our 1st round pick and starter.
Seems like those days are almost over. Not only is he at the bottom of the depth chart, but he hasnt done hardly anything the past couple practices.
Damn, the Giants have Chykie listed as a starting CB..ouch
Lol i guess they must be pretty thin at corner.
Oh whoops. Don't know why I thought he was 6"6". My apologies...
You probobly got him mixed up with waller, who is 6"6". Either way, we still have some pretty big targets.
I thought Arrington wasn't practicing today? Was this injury from yesterday's practice or something ? And are there any updates on what these injurys are and how serious?
I wouldnt be freaking out right now, most of these "injuries" are nothing. Maxx got sent home for being poked in the eye, if thst tells you anything.
Marlon Brown has turned himself into a well rounded football player. Good blocker who is very good on teams. Better than average hands ( can't think of a single drop) and he shows up in pressure situations.
Oh, and Campanaro is definitely making this team and getting lots of reps this year if healty.
i completly agree with you on camponaro, i think he might even be the next wes welker, if he can keep healthy.
Welcome skoal
Thanks!
Brown has been playing the slot. The outside guys have been
LWR 1. Smith 2. Butler
RWR 1. Periman 2. Aiken
Slot 1.Brown 2. Camp
So if Brown misses significant time Camp gets the bump to #1 Slot. Which is where he was in the Cincy game before the hammy so chances are that was the plan anyway. He is by far our best Slot.
If it were me i dont think i wouldnt even put marlon im the slot.
Not sure that ABrown is really trade bait. We know that DSmith isn't exactly young and may not have a ton of years left. It would be smart to keep Brown ... a young talent who knows the system.... ready to step in if there should be an injury or in another year or so... we will keep him for cheap and not sure what his trade value is at this point. I really believe that he is more valuable in BMORE then anywhere else right now. I think McClellan will be gone before the end of camp!
Man, i hope your wrong about mcClellan, ive always been a fan of his. Besides, hes made a name for himself as a good special teamer.
Everyone on this board that is so high on Waller is ridiculous. I would put money down on him being inactive on almost every game day this year.
you have a solid point, if he does make the team, he will probably be at the bottom of the depth chart, but i think he could still be a solid redzone option, with some improvement.
Agreed. I'm a huge Marlon Brown fan. I just like his whole demeanor. Even though he didn't produce the same numbers last year he improved as a WR and i think Engram had a ton to do with it. I think he'll definitely make a big impact if healthy and i agree with Harbs expecting it.
However this team can't afford to wait on him to get healthy. If Aiken and Butler contunue to impress, while Perriman comes back ready and Camp can work the slot then those are the guys who need to be helping this team at the WR position with Smitty. If this injury lingers, Brown could find himself in the same position as Aiken last year being forced to produce with limited opportunities as the 5th WR.
That is very true, but if that was to happen, i wouldnt be too worried about relying on kamar. I really think he could do just as well if given a chance.

exactly what im saying. that last drive was intense. i dont get the tv broadcast so i had to listen on my phone. lol not being able to see any of it made it a lot moire nerve racking then it should have been.
