  1. Gives him a second chance. If that doesn't work, Houston, we have a problem and you're getting called up from the PS, Stephen.
  2. Some team will be desperate enough. The people at a certain other website think Fisher has too many inside connections not only in the NFL but in the media as well and that's why he got the fancy interview and all and why they all but guarantee he will be coaching again in the very near future. There are some teams out there that would sell their souls to be 7-9.
  3. because Kubiak was the best OC we've had since then. I think Hue did a good job when he was here. He might have been very good for us had the Colts not plucked him away.
  4. Weddle is trying to make up for the talent around him and let's himself get exposed. I agree, I think the reason why he looked responsible for that bomb against NE is because he realized that Elam blew the play and he tried to make up for it. You can tell he was breaking another way. Thing is, if I am the defensive coach and I know what I got with Elam, why am I not giving him help over the top? Why do I let him cover ANYONE man to man? Weddle has played with a guy in Webb who is in his first season back at safety since playing it in college and then Elam. Then he's probably trying to help out the corners when Smith isn't on the field. Weddle is only one guy and he's been rated one of, if not the best, safety in the game by PFF. The problem isn't Weddle.
  5. That was a lot of respect Rosberg sent Hester's way and surely enough they may not have blocked well enough for him at times, but nobody was responsible for the bone-headed decision making of Hester on certain plays and he is ultimately responsible for ball security as well. The guy just didn't have it anymore. It was worth a shot and he showed that he still has a little bit of juice left, but not as electrifying as it was in the past to make up for some other things you might excuse while he's getting you points on special teams. Hopefully the return of Camp will make us all forget about it.
  6. Ryan "The Golden" Mallett? He beat Pittsburgh last year so you know he's the second coming of Otto Graham.
  7. At this point "Poison" Ivy would be an upgrade. Maybe we can coax Deion Sanders out of retirement again?
  8. Pass the ball 50-60 times when you're the Ravens and see how many games you win. Did you know that every game Flacco either tied Testeverde's record or then broke the record for most completions in a game we lost that game except for the very last time against Miami?
  9. And if you don't make the play, tear off your helmet, chuck it down the field 15 yards or so, kick something nearby like a stray football, then walk off the field and go cry about it in the corner. Because that's how you should handle adversity. Don't work on it to get better. Just go sulk about it after you throw a temper tantrum that would rival a three year old's.
  10. Too bad Fisher is retiring from coaching and switching to player because, "I want a chance to play against the Rams."
  11. The reasons: The Patriots were running a "confusing" zone defense and disguising their blitzes SO much that our OC couldn't make any in game adjustments and all of the "go to audibles" were all check down Charlie routes. Is it on Joe? Have we ever seen Joe do something like this before? I can't recall it. Then again he's having a funky year anyway that could be due to the leg and having 2 more OCs in the same season...again. What other team does that? I am hereby calling for a ban of any pass that involves hitting Juice while he's right at the line of scrimmage. You either hit him 3-4 yards down field or while he's swinging out of the backfield so he can get a little forward momentum going.
  12. You think so? Here's a quote from her on one of her articles she wrote before it appeared anywhere. I had to heavily edit it for all of the factual errors and the all too common "typo that isn't a typo because spellcheck didn't catch it." "From day one the Ravens were an offense first team under Billick and was one that could move the chairs." Perhaps she doesn't remember the Ravens days under Billick? You know, the one that could hardly score any points for itself unless Matt Stover was kicking FGs all day long and had a top ranked defense almost for the entire duration he was here. I know that "chairs" was a typo, but that just made it that much more hilarious.
  13. Well, right now I would settle for adequate. Too many stupid mistakes in the return game. We don't need the second coming of Devin Hester (literally and figuratively), we just need some competence there. There is another name the Ravens recently got back on the PS and that is Stephen Houston. He's next man up if anything happens to Camp.
  14. The one time TO didn't seem crazy is when he flat out refused to be traded to the Ravens.
  15. This just in: Aldon Smith is ticked off about the NFL not answering him about his reinstatement. You actually have to read all of that article because several things will become clear. First of all Mr. Smith, who is to blame for you being in your current situation? Secondly, the NFL doesn't owe you anything or an answer to your question on your timetable. They can chose to reinstate you or not whenever they want to. Got a problem with that, blame your player reps for not asking for more clarity in the CBA. It seems pretty clear that they have "broken him" because of his outlandish comments. Also, how great of an image are you portraying when you are "so mad he can't even talk, he'd be yelling," to say that you've completely reformed and you're ready to play. Then his trainer says he's mentally stronger now than he was before and this is how he's acting? Somebody doesn't seem like they are quite ready to return to this game.
  16. I remember him getting bashed for not having off season workouts with his receivers like a lot of other QB's do, especially in a season when he had a whole lot of new faces coming in to be presumptive starters.
  17. I know exactly how Gruden meant it but it works both ways. It gives off an sense that you just don't really care and nothing really matters to you. I've seen Joe celebrating plenty this year when things go right, so he's not as even keel as the myth has spread.
  18. No, but it does show poor decision making ability and the penchant for not always being able to be on the field. Not a good way to build up confidence in the people that are paying you millions of dollars.
  19. Who would have thought that a former Special Teams guru would have so much trouble finding a return specialist after all these years. One of the best ones we had wasn't even one we drafted, it was Jacoby Jones.
  20. Or some pretty faces that have absolutely no clue as to what they are talking about. I was witness to this at a former place of employment. Amber Theo-Harris is an absolute idiot and knows nothing about the sport other than what somebody else writes for her.
  21. I agree with you. Since Flacco has been the QB they've gone from a run first smash mouth, twin TE offense to a trying to be a 3 wide/spread offense to a zone running west coast offense. Meanwhile Flacco is not a good fit for a west coast style. He's not extremely mobile and he's not exactly laser point accurate. He's at his best when the running game has beaten up on the defense and doing play action. The offense needs to get a singular focus. Bring in somebody that is a guru and then bring in a disciple behind him to be an offensive position coach or something so he can learn the offense as well. You know darn right well if the Ravens have a winning season and a decent to good offense that guy is head coaching material. Then you have that guy's replacement waiting in the wings. Perhaps this is what happens when you have a ST coach as your head coach. Then again Billick was a superstar OC in Minnesota and during his run we were a defensive powerhouse. Go figure.
  22. Jeff Fisher will be looking for a new job....totally kidding.
  23. Josh McCown and the woeful Browns ring any bells? Never forget the ability for the Ravens secondary missing its starters to make the average or below average QB look like a budding super star. It is a winnable game. The Ravens can shut down the run and hopefully they can confuse a rookie QB enough to get to him for sacks.
  24. I hate to say this about my home team and the only NFL team I've supported, but I am selling this for a number of reasons. 1) Jimmy Smith's health. He's been up and down all season and when he's out, the Ravens pass defense becomes inept. 2) The play calling. I can literally call the offensive plays of the Ravens before they snap the ball. If I can guess this correctly without studying film like mad, I am sure other teams DC's can. 3) The Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde offense and defense. The team just goes into comas on offense and defense for halves at a time. 4) Stupid mistakes, poor clock management. How many dumb penalties, how many blown timeouts, how many issues with taking too much time to get to the line and call a play with time running out at the end of a game? This team could easily have double digit wins if not for some of the stupidity shown by the players and coaching staff this season and that is what is so frustrating. The team has enough talent to win.
  25. I am glad they're confident. I'm not and the stats tend to back up my skepticism. I doubt anyone thought that Josh McCown could chuck on us for 450 yards one time, and then almost do it a second time had he not gotten knocked out of the game with an injury. Never doubt any QB with a speedy WR against our depleted secondary. Matt Elam has a huge target on him whenever he's in the game. He can't cover and everybody knows it.
