  1. Weddle, Wallace, Watson. They were all signed to fairly healthy contracts this past off season.
  2. 2014: Mosley, Jernigan, Campanaro, Gilmore.... 2015: Perriman, Williams, Smith, Boyle, Waller 2016: Just about every draft pick is on the team. It's not that Ozzie and staff doesn't draft players as they choose quantity over quality. That's the rub. No superstars are being drafted. No one is afraid of anyone on the Ravens. No one. Correa (2nd round pick) and Kaufusi (3rd round pick) were not on the team. Well, Correa was for a little bit as an underwhemling special teamer before he went on IR. That should also tell you a great deal when 6th rounders, 7th rounders, and UDFA are getting a lot of reps for your team....they had to beat out somebody.
  3. No, but I can blame him for not preparing his team week in and week out, the absolutely terrible clock management, and not getting a handle on his coaches for completely fluffing away games. The offensive game plans didn't much improve after the OC change. It looked like more of the same. No running even though West and Dixon were running well. Stupid gimmick plays that often got snuffed out easily by the defense, and then would be run repeatedly throughout the game and still not work. Hello? He lost this team.
  4. Le'Veon Bell isn't a game breaker? Jamal Lewis wasn't a game breaker for us in our first ever Ravens Superbowl? You can only live on your past success for so long. There is also the whole living up to expectations thing. This team was much better talent-wise than they played this season. A lot of their losses were not earned by the other team, but given away by the Ravens. A lot of changes need to be made. We once fired Billick who won a Superbowl for us because he lost the team and failed to live up to expectations. This team was rudderless this year. Same old issues over and over again.
  5. All about roster manipulation. This is one thing the Ravens seem to do right. They know all the intricacies of roster management. By promoting him to the 53 man roster for one game they don't expose him to "Futures Contracts" that other teams could use on him. So they must have seen enough out of him to give him a chance next season, or at least put him on their PS again next year. I think we saw what Reynolds was capable off in the pre season. He just wasn't ready.
  6. To quote Ed McMahon, "YOU are correct, Sir!"
  7. 1) I am in Baltimore and I never for one second wondered if the Ravens would call Kubiak about a job. They only call they should make to him is to thank him for what he did for this organization and to wish him good health. Do you think the fans are a bunch of idiots? 2) No, the Ravens didn't play like I expected the team to play, they didn't play like that for most of the season. The players and coaching staff repeatedly said you can't use the Pittsburgh loss as an excuse and that's exactly what everyone is doing. You know what that shows? Weak will, no passion, and no heart. To lay that kind of a stinker against a team with that many issues was inexcusable. 3) A whole lot of changes should be made for sure and it should start with the coaching staff. Tired of hearing about all this potential. Where is it? Why isn't it developing? Is it all of the players not having the talent or are the coaches not teaching them well enough? 4) Bright spots need to include: Dennis Pitta being The Bionic Man, Micheal Pierce at DT, Zachary Orr at MLB, Ronnie Stanley at LT, Yanda at LG, Alex Lewis at G/T when he could play.
  8. 1) If the team isn't prepared to play and isn't playing up to expectations that is on the Head Coach. Harbaugh seems to be really good about saying what is wrong with the team, but seems awful at correcting all the glaringly obvious issues. 2) They keep saying you can't use the loss in Pittsburgh as an excuse to lay that stinker in Cincinnati, yet they mention that game a whole lot, don't they? Seems like they are definitely using that as an excuse. I'm tired of the excuses. 3) They weren't the only ones disappointed with the game, or the season. The Ravens toughest opponent this year was the Ravens. They beat themselves with stupid penalties, poor play calling, inexcusable play, and horrid clock management issues. 4) Suggs is right. Time for some brutal honesty and for a lot of changes to be made. The NFL is a what have you done for me lately league. I've seen the articles on here suggesting Harbaugh is virtually untouchable because of his past. Take a look at his recent track record after the Superbowl. This team has looked completely lost for years now and either that is on every single player on the team or it is on the coaching staff. Which is it?
  9. File this in the "Who Cares?" department.
  10. Haven't seen anyone else bring this up but one of the main issues I've been seeing for years now is the inability of our receivers to get open and make plays. One person that has remained a constant over the past few seasons and this one is WR Coach Bobby Engram. Apparently whatever he's teaching isn't working. We've got some talented (Supposedly) young receivers in Chris Moore, Breshard Perriman, Darren Waller (who moved to TE), and Keenan Reynolds. Why would we want them all learning under a guy that doesn't produce results?
  11. If that were the case, he would have been on the field.
  12. 1) Joe Flacco was certainly not a check-down Charlie QB until this season. Again, of course every team has some check down routes. In this ONE game in particular we are talking about, you are agreeing with me as well, that the game plan seemed to be checking down the whole game. This was never the Ravens offense. I've watched this team since the very first season and can't recall a game like that...other than Steve McNair's last season when he physically couldn't throw the ball 20 yards down the field. 2) I guess I should including "reading" because I did indeed define the term for you. 3) I proved my statement just within a year period. The Patriots flux in a lot of moving parts...and that was just on offense, I didn't even do the defense which I am sure would illustrate my point further. Sure, ever team has some stalwarts on a team as a nucleus. What I am proving is that the Patriots do what every other team in the NFL does, they rotate in parts around them. They just do a better job of it because of their coaching/systems they run. Also, in some parts the changes when back in 2014 as well because rookies made the roster, meaning they took a job from somebody else. 4) Albert Einstein was a genius, but a rock wouldn't find much meaning in anything he said.
  13. Let's see you had an injured Campanaro or an undrafted rookie who kept fumbling the ball all the time, or you take a chance on a future Hall of Fame return man to see if he's still got any juice left. Tough choice. The Ravens did what they had to. Chris Moore is not the answer as he's made some real bone headed decisions on KO's. The Ravens just didn't have anyone else.
  14. Look around the NFL and find out what some absolutely trash QB's are getting paid (some more than Flacco mind you) and then get back to me on that. The only CB getting paid big money now is Jimmy Smith, Webb has redone is contract a couple of times.
  15. 1) You have to have a horrible record to draft that high to get players. Elliott 4th overall (The Ravens had the 6th pick and used it to get Ronnie Stanley), Hill 5th overall (Again, Ravens had the 6th pick), Rhodes was 25th overall in 2013 (the Ravens won the Superbowl and had the 32nd pick that year), and Peters was 18th overall (Ravens had the 26th pick that year). 2) Generally you have to give up a lot to trade from the very late picks in the first round to get to the very top picks in the first round meaning sacrificing picks that could turn into good players. The Ravens have made a franchise out of hitting a lot of good to star level players in the 3-5th rounds. 3) Xavier Rhodes just started a mutiny in Minnesota. This was the first season he's really done anything special. 4) Our OC is a coaching carousel because if we have a great one and a great season, other teams are picking off our talent to be head coaches. And we run A LOT of trick plays if you ask me, too many when we should be bread and butter pounding that ball down the other teams' throats before we play action pass (trick play BTW) deep instead of doing a 2-3 yard play action pass without running the ball at all.
  16. I'm not making this up, it is a direct quote from him and you can read the article yourself. "I want a chance to play the Rams." Jeff Fisher So this called to mind a certain memory I had on a certain late night comedy show, during a certain skit, in which a certain team from a certain town was coached by a certain team.......Da Bears! During one such skit the gang discussed Mike Ditka and what the results of a game would be if Mike Ditka took on the New York Giants. Then they went on to ask about a potential team of "mini Ditkas." So either Jeff Fisher is channeling some inner SNL or.... He can pick up a copy of Madden NFL 17, remain head coach of the Rams and then move them to LA in franchise mode. Possibly he can become the head coach of whatever other team he wants to and play the Rams as many times as he wants to. Maybe he will go in and edit all of the Rams players to 0 OVR ratings so he can really stick it to them? Of course I am not silly enough to take that quote literally. He obviously wants a chance to coach against his old team and lose to them so he can break the tie for most career losses by a head coach.
  17. Let's just compare NE's 2015 starters to 2016 starters. QB: 2015: Tom Brady 2016: Tom Brady RB: 2015: Nobody listed as starter, Dion Lewis and L. Blount both started 6 games: 2016: L. Blount WR: 2015: Julian Edelman/Keshawn Martin 2016: Julian Edeleman/Chris Hogan TE: 2015: Rob Gronkowski 2016: Martellus Bennett LT: 2015: Sebastian Vollmer 2016: Nate Solder LG: 2015: (rookie) Shaq Mason (meaning he replaced somebody) 2016: Shaq Mason C: 2015: (rookie) David Andrews (meaning he replaced somebody) 2016: David Andrews RG: 2015: (rookie) Tre' Jackson (meaning he replaced somebody) 2016: Joe Thuney RT: 2015: Cameron Flemming/Marcus Cannon 2016: Marcus Cannon That's just offensive starters in one year. Remember when you see the word "rookie" by a starter's name, that means they obviously weren't on the team the season before that, thus, a new player. I think that should go without saying, but since people seem to be pulling a Bill Clinton these days and asking what you mean by the word "is," I figure I should leave no doubt.
  18. I am sorry. I thought most people would understand that it means you focus on one thing. You don't try to reinvent the wheel every couple of seasons.
  19. Comprehension.... Yes of course he threw flat routes to Ray Rice and stick patterns to Pitta, but they weren't doing it 30 times a game. It was part of the game plan, not THE gameplan.
  20. Better than Ezra.
  21. IR and Left Out?
  22. Pound the rock. Repeatedly. Just do it. I want to see 30-35 carries split between Dixon and West. I want Flacco under 40 attempts unless this is just a laugher and things are just that wide open. I want to see the Ravens completely punish a QB. Relentless. Get to him, make him pay. Next idiot who blows simple coverage in the secondary gets cut immediately. Serioulsy, get a wacky inflatable flailing arms guy. They are cheaper, have better coverage skills, and won't throw a temper tantrum if things don't go their way.
  23. Give 'em all a hanky for feeling sad and cranky, if they play like crud again take 'em all behind the woodshed and give them a spanky.
  24. Rename this five things captain obvious could point out to you against the Eagles. Seriously? Hmm...the Eagles rely on the running game. You think? They got a rookie QB. Hey, Zach Ertz is a good player, guess we should watch out for him huh? Hey, the Ravens ran the ball a whopping 5 times in a half, will they do that again? Wentz throws interceptions. The Ravens sometimes get them. Will they this game? Hey, I just read an injury report saying that some OL's for the Eagles that start are banged up or ruled out for the game. How about some of this: Will the Ravens offense be handicapped by inane play calling again? Will the Ravens offense be befuddled by drop zone coverage again? Will the secondary completely collapse and make Wentz look like a budding super star thanks to the absence of Jimmy Smith and any time Matt Elam plays a down? Will the Ravens take timeouts at ridiculous times because for some reason they seem to forget about that whole play clock thing? Will Campanaro make a difference in the return game, or at least not shoot the Ravens in the foot with his decisions?
  25. He's been battling a toe injury, hopefully not a "turf toe" issue. He probably won't be active for the Eagles game.
