  1. I have no doubt in my mind that SSS fully intends to play out his contract before retiring. Considering there's only two years on the contract there's no real reason to hang it up with only a year left.
  2. Is it just me or has Butler seemingly been in every OTA clip...It's quite early on but i gotta say I'm becoming a fan.

me too man, hes looking really good so far, I would love to see him on Sundays

  3. Pretty amazing that he has yet to make even a pro bowl. Considering just how great he's been over the years this is a shining example of how much of a popularity contest the pro bowl is nowadays and why fans should get no vote whatsoever, but i digress. At least he's been a PFF all pro twice...
  4. Tally is looking good, he looks like he wants that backup job. And if you ask me I believe he will be the #2 if only for this year. He showed flashes last year and looking at him right now it looks like he wants to take that next step. Actually it sorta looks like everyone wants that, just the other day we got an article about Jernigan shedding some lbs and putting in the work. It would seem this team is destined for great things this year.
  5. I believe a few years back a Broncos WR actually made it through the qualifying course only to get knocked out by his time. It was hilarious, he was so much more massive than any of the other guys there and just brute forced his way through lots of the obstacles
  6. Wasn't there an article earlier this offseason about him doing American Ninja Warrior training or something like that?
  7. Nice to finally get some recognition but I feel myself really missing the underdog role...seems we thrive in it. We'll see if Vaughn will make the final 53, looks like he's competing with Asa for a spot, it's a toss up between the two in my opinion, it'll be a tough battle to watch for the rest of the offseason.
  8. Don't know why you keep bringing up Camp, I don't think Camp will make the roster either, but if he does indeed get cut/IRed/PSed then I'll bet the FO will look to keep a slot guy in his place, i.e. Carter. "Let's be real" Aiken and Brown aren't going anywhere, both are proven targets, the FO won't throw them under the bus for an extra UDFA. Nobodies acting like Aiken is a legend, you're acting like he's a bum and is seriously in danger of being cut....he's not, don't know what you have against him but he's got everything you want out of a receiver and actually produces when on the field. Sure Brown had roughly the same stats as Doss last year, but how about before that? Brown's first year was far better than anything Doss ever did, not to mention Doss started two games his last year and Brown "started" only one last year. Doss is such a terrible comparison to both of them. Not enough history on Aiken to show he'll improve? are you serious? his career arc so far shows exponential growth going from a practice squader to competing for playing time
  9. I want to see Striker play next year. I was watching some of his tape and to be completely honest I wasn't too impressed, maybe a mid rounder to me.
  10. I don't know if there's room for him unfortunately. Reminds me of Aiken, much like Aiken i think he'll have to spend year 1 on the PS and give it another go next year.
  11. Crazy part is we're working with a 36 year old, 2 UDFAs, 2 rookies, and a competition involving a 7th rounder and a couple UDFA rookies. Ozzie may not have a shining record with drafting receivers but somehow he's given us a great corps with a bunch of nobodies + a 36 yo Steve Smith. If anyone still doesn't trust Ozzie then they need their head examined quickly...
  12. People give Schaub way too much beef. Is he great? no, but he's easily a top tier backup and I am way more comfortable with him coming in if Flacco were to get injured (knock on wood) than whoever else we have (I think the next two on the roster are Renner and Lovelocke...).

the last time garoppolo took a snap, he lost to towson, you cant say hes better than a long established nfl qb like schaub. and no, schaub is not a disaster, ill once again point out, he had injury plagued seasons playing for 2 god awful organizations, and has not gotten even a sliver of a fair chance since kubiak left houston, you are just being way too reactionary here.

would i want him as the starter? god no, but as a backup for the most durable qb in the nfl, yea ill take it.

Schaub has gotten a bad rap I think. We could do a lot worse if God forbid something happened to Flacco and we needed someone for a few games.

  13. I at no point referred to him as a bum, i said plenty of bums have played with great CB talent, i never said he was. Don't rely on numbers, stats lie big time, go actually watch him play and you'll see, guy's ok, nothing more. He'll grab you a pick then turn around and give up a big play. It's good that he picks to play with contenders but the fact that he's played for 3 separate teams over 5 years isn't because he's a priority FA. And take second look at the three teams he's been on, all 3 are known for sub par secondaries... I'm not saying the guy is bad or a "bum," I'm not saying he can't make the roster or won't be any good, all I'm saying is that acting like he's some sort of god send and is "amazing" is naive
  14. and, unfortunately for him, you have to push him down another spot because it's unlikely we'll let Walker go
  15. As far as coaching staffs go its hard to say, we've got a new offensive coordinator, steelers have a new defensive coordinator, Browns have a new offensive coordinator, and i don't have faith in the Bengals defensive coordinator at all. I think its a race between us and (surprisingly) the Browns, but i think pretty much making Shanahan go was a mistake (guy is directly responsible for making Hoyer a serviceable QB and the Browns a [brief] contender before their collapse). Since their new OC is an unknown I'm going to give it to us for now
  16. I have to say Harbaugh by quite a large margin. Marvin Lewis is good and all but those playoff appearances hurt him considering how long he's been there and plenty of times he's had really good teams overall. Its too early to even consider Pettine as better but he's doing a really good job so far, give him a QB and that Browns team is pretty scary. Tomlin has to be the closest but even Steelers fans are getting fed up with him and say most of his success comes from Cowher's left overs. That paired with the Steelers' past few years - lost in the first playoff game last year and 2 8-8 seasons before that - i think shows Harbaugh is the best in the division. And I'm still not over him stepping on the field (clearly on purpose - he's been a coach in the NFL since 2001 and somehow he doesn't know where to stand, and how convenient he forgot during a clear touchdown return...).
  17. How about Josh Gordon? I think he could easily be the best wideout in the division if he ever played but we're talking pure playing ability here not playing time so i think Gordon should be on these lists
  18. That's debatable. He's ok, saying he's "amazing in sub packages" is a stretch. I'd easily put Melvin above him in the pecking order so he'll be competing with Asa for a spot and between the two its a toss up. And saying he's played with some good corners doesn't say much about him, there's lots of bums that have played with great corners. He's got a decent shot of making the roster but his spot is far from guaranteed, Asa will be tough competition if he can stay healthy
  19. he's not healthy yet, he's still got quite a ways to go and is flirting with missing next season if he gets IRed
  20. I agree, i think Williams was just taking a play off because, well, he couldn't do much and Urschel just took advantage. We shouldn't look too much into that.
  21. But there is a difference here between Camp and KLM. Camp's spot, regardless of the injury, was never guaranteed to begin with considering how loaded with young talent our receiving corps is. The big difference here is that, yes KLM has yet to play a snap outside preseason but the "good" thing about that is we haven't had to sacrifice a roster spot to keep him yet so we have been able to stash him and get a good look at his skill the following year. In that regard having a season ending injury is "better" from a team point of view, Camp hasn't had a season ending injury yet but he has had constant nagging injuries that cause him to miss time but not enough to place him on IR, thus we are sacrificing a roster spot to keep him. This injury doesn't bode well for him making the final 53, The WR battle is already shaping up to be one for the ages and many are very high on DeAndre Carter which also puts Camp's slot role in jeopardy. Plus many have been clamoring for KLM to be cut as well, which i think would be a mistake because we are not as deep at DE as at WR.
  22. I really miss those Ed Reed laterals, always so fun to watch unselfish football. Seems like no secondary plays like that anymore.

      Announcer: Interception, Ed Reed!

Me: Yes! .....keep running...keep running...no, fon't do it Ed, for the love of...no, NO, NO N-YES! YES YES YES!!!!

I'm just happy that one of the only two times I was lucky enough to go see Reed play live, it was the game @ Carolina in '10 where his infamous lateral actually worked and payed dividends!

What's funny about that one is he almost could have ran it in himself, but instead lateraled it.

  23. I seriously doubt it had anything to do with sacks, he's an ILB. It has more to do with the fact that he was never particularly good in the first place, sure he could do a little against the run (as long as the runner was going between the tackles) but he's not an athlete and was beyond terrible in coverage.
  24. Out of the two it seems Bose has the better special teams potential, probably why he's being brought back.
  25. I guess Jernigan is the obvious choice with B. Williams as the #2, but i chose KLM to mix things up because why not?
