  1. It appears flacco has been working out and doesn't realize his own strength
  2. Suggs clearly didn't want to play today
  3. I do really hope we wear that throwback uniform at some point this year, maybe I'm alone but i really like those helmet and shoulder logos.
  4. Nothing to freak out about yet. Excited to see Marlon play. Glad we'll get to see Myers most likely. No worries about the starters, preseason is more for the backups anyway. Ready to see more of Buck and the WR competition. Hope Perry gets more time, him vs. Trawick is shaping up to be a little battle of its own. Renner as well may get more time, hopefully Schaub doesn't keep throwing picks though.
  5. Then you'd be cut in the third second...
  6. I'm not too worried about Perriman still being out, I wasn't expecting him to be a starter anyway honestly. No need to rush him back, we have quite a lot invested in him, let him get his rest and get back to 100% before bringing him back to practice. I hope we get to see him at some point in the preseason but, like i said, no need to rush him back to the field.

Agreed, let him get ready. Those knee issues kind of worry me, I know he has them from his dad who was able to deal with them the older he got

  7. Is this the first day Marlon has practiced or has he just been quiet the past few days?
  8. We were all excited to see Elam try to prove himself this year but I hope he doesn't try to have a superhero come back, just sit the year out and try again next year, no need to risk re-tearing it in a come back. The biggest concern about Camp is still on the table, the injury issues, we've all known from the get go that he could be special...but he needs to be on the field to do it, we'll see if he can stay healthy.
  9. I really like him going forward. If any UDFA rookies is going to make the roster it's going to be him and it can definitely happen. After Trawick played so horribly last week the door is wide open for Perry, all he had to do is seize the opportunity.
  10. If Webb is healthy by week 1 I can't see Melvin taking his starting job (unless of course they try to rest him or something). Melvin played well in a starting role last year but he made his fair share of mistakes, especially with missed tackles. A healthy Webb is better than Melvin plain and simple, problem is: when is the last time Webb was fully healthy? A fully healthy Webb is one of the best all around corners in the NFL. I don't have a problem with the FO taking it slow with him even if it's a minor injury simply because of his history. As far as the mock roster goes: after the game last week I'd rather have a new rookie FA in Perry than Trawick, he was just plain awful in all phases of the game. Maybe he gets his act together this week. Hopefully Perry gets more playing time against the Eagles. And by the way, the surprise center battle between Jensen and Easton may get interesting if Easton plays so well again this week. I'd hate to lose a good lineman because he isn't as versatile.
  11. Tavon Austin is pretty darn good Patrick Peterson was
  12. Butler is still the star of practice but we need to see that translate to gameday this saturday. No doubt in my mind he can do it, he's got the tools he just needs to get over those gameday jitters.
  13. Because of the type of runner he is. He's a bruiser not an elusive speedster. He gets paid to lower his shoulder and grind out short yardage situations and he showed lots of improvement in that area.
  14. Another guy from the NO game that no one is talking about is KLM. I went back and rewatched the game and notice KLM played fantastic but he needs to do a far better job finishing the play. He was in position to get two sacks but whiffed on the QB both times, just makes me want to pull my hair out.

      pechillo

when he gets off the ball he stands straight up and doesn't explode from what i saw and on top of that he needs better footwork like you said he whiffs a couple times and he's gotta shed blocks quicker, he reads the plaits long before he reacts but he's still raw he's got the talent no doubt just a couple little tweaks and he could end up like arthur jones did for us, they are similar

I didn't think he played well at all. Granted it was his first game in over 2 years I'll cut him some slack but he got stood up a lot and not much in terms of a push. Like pechillo said he does a poor job getting off the ball, he needs to get lower and explode off the ball instead of trying to hand fight his way into the back field.

  15. Renner is a second year guy but still
  16. Nick Easton running with the 3's held his own on a pretty terrible group. Made some good decisions switching blocks. Jah Reid did impress me with the 2's. Like most people here, I'm not a big fan of his but he played well this game at RT, maybe he'll get his stuff together and realize his potential. Asa looked good fielding punts...up until he got injured again. But seriously he looks dangerous fielding punts. LT has stepped up pretty well. Butler did fine. The pick was more Schaub's fault than his, it was poorly thrown. Had he made that catch falling backwards early in the game we would be saying great things about him. 1st team D looked fantastic the 2 drives they were out there, granted it was against McCown it was still very good. Arthur Brown was a mixed bag, made a couple good plays but also missed a few. Orr is in the same boat. Trawick did very badly in my opinion. That taunting penalty really made me mad, so unnecessary. Hope Perry gets more snaps next game. Rookies: Williams did fantastic, that 4th and 20 was supremely impressive. Carl Davis did great, absolutely manhandled whoever they put in front of him. Very disruptive. Z Smith was a mixed bad, struggled mightily early but as the game went on he did better culminating in the sack Allen did good, like Z. Smith he didn't do well early but did better after a couple snaps he did better. Walker was impressive, wasn't expecting him to shine like he did. Doesn't shy away from contact and i odon't remember him making any bonehead plays. Boyle made some good catches, very strong hands. Wish he would get more after the catch but can't complain about his performance. Waller made a nice contested catch early, then did a good job drawing contact. Nothing overly impressive but i can't complain about his day.
  17. can't tell if you're joking or...
  18. I think Renner earned more time next game And where did Tom Nelson come from?
  19. well he made s'mores out of a camp body
  20. 3rd string line is just terrible, not that that's surprising
  21. Za'Darius has done better as the game has gone on, early on he was struggling
  22. Saints have committed a flag on literally every return
  23. So...not kick off returns so far, we have made 0 headway in that competition
  24. Brown is actually in now
