  1. didn't see that coming, gamble
  2. There goes one of our targets
  3. he's monumentally overrated
  4. I have a feeling the Titans are going to steal Alexander, please no
  5. Sounds like maximum 20 people in the crowd
  6. I wish the crowd would just shut up for once, the booing is just annoying
  7. People hype up every pick regardless of who it is. If we take Spence people will compare him to any number of fantastic pass rushers - people around here have already kicked around a certain pass rusher from Denver - I never compared Alexander to anyone or said he'd be as good as insert-player-here, the fact that some people like one player isn't a knock on him, this Elam comparison is just a bad one. The "purple cool-aid" applies to all players, it's not fair to only apply it to the players that you don't personally like but you buy into it when it's a prospect that you do like. I'm not a big fan of Spence but I wouldn't say people are just buying empty hype, people watch what they watch and make a judgement. Have you ever seen any interview of his? competitiveness comes on a spectrum and isn't "either you have it or you don't" and Alexander has confidence in spades and his work ethic and studiousness show big time. He an extremely smart player and is always prepared. 5'10" is more than tall enough to be successful at CB, people get way too caught up in physical height when it's nowhere near as important as how you use it. The tired analogy is Steve Smith, he's short but he plays so much taller - as does Alexander, who is smart enough and athletic enough to make up for his lack of height. And let's not even start with the "some 'experts'" talk, I can literally find you an "expert" that'll assert any number of opinion on any given player.
  8. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2016/04/29/first-round-snap-reactions/83693736/ Dallas wanted him and made an offer for the pick, just got outbid
  9. Alexander is nothing like Elam, that's just ridiculous. You can't say two players are the same because they have similar height, weight, and speed. Their skill sets are entirely different and play completely different positions. they aren't the same size at all and Mackensie is fantastic in coverage - and isn't known as a hard hitter at all. You pulled that comparison out of left field...It's quite easy to compare Noah Spence who's 6'2" 250 to any bust ILB, many ILBs have that same size and comparable speed, must mean they're the same! - see how ridiculous that is?
  10. I can't tell if you're being serious or not...
  11. I disagree, everytime I watched him he was great in pass blocking a lack luster in run blocking
  12. What do you mean? Stanley struggles mightily in run blocking, that's his biggest knock.
  13. Right now West, Taliaferro, and Richardson are all power backs, maybe not at Henry's caliber but they are all more than adequate to get the job done. Nobody will get it 100% of the time.
  14. I think we'll snag Alexander in the 2nd and get the best OLB left in the 3rd - maybe Ngakoue or someone will fall
  15. I hate the Chiefs so much
  16. I'm watching a press conference from Alexander from the combine and he just seems like our type of guy, he's a winner
  17. Supreme competitor and successfully shut down Will Fuller and Sterling Shepard in college - as well as every other receiver he went toe to toe with. He doesn't have big numbers because QBs knew better than to try throwing it to his side of the field. His potential is through the roof.
  18. I think they'll go Spriggs, Thomas won't be around much longer, they need someone to develop and they lost their RT in FA
  19. What's up with this?
  20. Maybe they just feel that a good quality, high ceiling rusher can be had later. Suggs and Doom will be around for at least another year, probably 2, that's enough time to develop someone to some extent or we could explore taking someone next year.
  21. I love Alexander and want him to be the pick but he's not plug n' play, he's too aggressive and needs to work on his technique. I think if we take him he'll be backing up Wright from the start. He'll get plenty of playing time of course but I don't think he'll get starter snaps
  22. If Jack is available late 2nd (unlikely but possible) do you trade up for him? I don't think he should be #36 that knee of his scares me, there's no way to know how long it'll hold up.
  23. Basically I'm at the point where I want Alexander or Spence, if both are gone then trade back. My preferred is Alexander and wait for Ngakoue later, the CB class drops off drastically after Alexander and Fuller, but there are still guys with good potential after Spence.
  24. I think we probably will doubt dip on lineman but I seriously doubt we'd do it in back to back rounds, Henry and Davis are just plain reaches this high.
  25. I'm really pulling for Alexander, the swagger is infectious. Of course he's not a finished product and will benefit from taking a year to back up Wright but his ceiling is very high, stays clean off the field and talks mad trash on the field, for a CB I love that. But I wouldn't be opposed to a trade back or an edge rusher of course, I do really like Dodd. As far as the third rounder goes, I think we'll just take whoever falls to us like last year when Carl Davis fell into our lap. Who will it be? I'm not sure at this point.
