The initial question asked why is Flacco inconsistent - I think the initial response has merit.
The rest of the commentary was a result of letting Ray, talk and talk and talk.
Flacco is inconsistent - why does Ray think he's inconsistent?
Ignoring the rest of Ray's diatribe - I accept what he says about Joes passion and drive.
Sighting Joe rehabbing his knee doesn't speak to passion for me, finishing the game after blowing up his knee isn't passion - that's toughness.
What seperates great from good and this is exactly what Ray initially refers to. Everybody in the NFL is talented but to be truly great and consistently head and shoulders above your competition requires another level of passion, drive, work.
This is what Ray is referring to.
Joe and any of his supporters brush it off as his personality but he truly strikes me as just a meh kind of person - if he wins, it's all good, if he loses its not the end of the world.
He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who after a loss, will be studying tape, putting in extra work, won't stop until he literally can't do anymore and then he wakes up and gets back to it again until it's better or you physically can't do anymore - guys like Smith, Lewis, Brady do and those guys will be going to the HOF
lot of talented people but to be at that next level takes something else and I don't think Joe has 'IT' Ray was just saying it, the rest of his comments whatever
weve seen what Joe can do in the perfect situation but we've also seen that he can't elevate mediocre talent and he needs guys around him to elevate the offence
is what it is - he's our QB, wish he just found another level of drive and passion - a locked in 120% over drive Flacco could be dangerous
