  1. one thought i continually have - looking at this years class of pass rushers - maybe ozzie and co were happy to ride sizzle, doom and whatever else they could assemble, whilst picking up those couple extra picks which turned into whoever - judon, moore?? look to grab a pass rusher in this years draft, from a stronger deeper group understand the approach but still could have traded back and grabbed somebody who's contributing hope you prove us wrong KC - don't turn out to be Arthur Brown 2.0
  2. other than guys out injured - jaylon smith and qb - hackenberg is there a more underwhelming 2nd round pick right now, on what we've seen this season than kc
  3. its not a sure thing - was a hypothetical - just saying he'll have those numbers and people will still be saying oh but he wouldnt have helped us or made us better anyway we'll see, no point crying over spilt milk - im just not a fan of the correa pick, Arthur Brown 2.0 - when we desperately needed some pass rush and still do
  4. i know one guys got 5.5 sacks and a few forced fumbles - so i take that as something and the other guy isnt even sniffing the field - so we can start with that i think we would be a better team with spence - his 5.5 sacks on the season would be good for second on our team behind suggs, suggs might have a few more if we had spence this whole time - our pretty pedestrian pass rush might look half decent come season end spence will have 10 or so sacks and half a dozen strips and people will still be saying i dont know if he would of helped our team
  5. Haven't watched the game yet - guessing our 2nd rd pick didn't see too much action. Bucs beat the Seahawks, Noah Spence showing up in the box score 1.5 sacks, forced fumble, Spence has really come on strong in recent weeks. He finished the game with five tackles (two solo).
  6. Bla bla bla we added 6 or 7 starters this last offseason need or no need as it stands, I'd like to think we can find a cb2, a centre, pass rusher and a wide receiver, might even find a new safety and a couple new lineman - don't think it's going to take 3 years
  7. I think most fans on offense are happy with Stanley - when he plays, Wallace, Lewis, West definitely happy with weddle & young, most people like pierce and Orr is doing a good job i don't see any of these guys leaving thats 8 guys we added this last offseason, nobody's calling for their heads or saying they need to be upgraded we're realistically looking to add less players this year than we did last offseason
  8. So this year we have a new LT, LG, WR, RB on offense - could of been a TE too if Watson didn't go down on D - new SS, 2 corners - young, powers, plus Orr, pierce not sure think that's about 6 or 7 no chance in the world we can get that done in one offseason hahaha
  9. I thought that was more a shot at the Front Office and saying something had to be done because it wasn't good enough because he cared for those guys, the qbs that we're getting killed i like it, he's speaking up, we need all the heart and fire we can get once Steve retires i remember Steve smith taking a shot at anybody who wasn't pulling their weight, when we lost to go 0-3 last year - saying 'some of them just like being on the team'
  10. Yes to Terrelle Pryor - exactly what Flacco needs as much love as I have for Steve Smith, we can't throw jump balls his way like we did with Boldin I really want to see that type of receiver again
  11. Pretty much this. one guy might be going to the hall the other had a couple good seasons and then Steve still blew out his Achilles - prob cos he's old and we put so much on his plate Given Gilmore & Maxx can't get healthy we prob should have grabbed somebody a bit younger, less likely to suffer injury. we're over here signing grandpas, patriots sent a 4th to the Bears for Bennett
  12. guy was 35 - that's asking for trouble
  13. Well the thread probably never going to go anywhere cos half of it is you bashing anything anybody says - but you're right , you're right about everything - always, let's not even entertain hypotheticals again bud it's sport, fun who cares if I say I'd like to see terrelle Pryor on my team or eric berry next to weddle you must be the life of the party, crack a cold one and chill out
  14. Talking about the thread is hypothetical would I like to see the Ravens spend 10 mil on season on a CB or a pass rusher, maybe whatever who cares your right, everything you said is right and makes complete sense - no way should we even entertain the thought of throwing some cash around - what was I thinking you know how to suck the fun out of a thread
  15. Exactly - they threw some cash at a pass rusher and a corner - oh hang on that sounds like a team I know.... whatever bud, it's all hypotheticals
  16. I'm sorry - who won the Super Bowl last year??
  17. everybody always so pessimistic about high priced free agents what about denver - did they win a superbowl after they brought in ward, ware, talib, sanders, what about the pats - pretty sure they won 1 the year they brought in revis?? is that money well spent or were they just throwing cash around for the sake of it, pretty sure the panthers would stump up the cash for norman if they had their time over right now im pessimistic about our chances of drafting and developing enough talent to truly elevate this team beyond mediocre, our first 3 picks from the previous year arent making any contribution perriman, maxx, davis - MIA, this year one out of 3 giving us some help - so with that track record - im not holding my breathe to just start hitting it out of the park and get 3 or 4 starters in this next draft - where i actually need them - its nice we hit on some guys - a slot corner, dlineman, , tackle, maybe a half decent pass rusher - we havent added anything i would consider a difference maker from our last 2 drafts im also pessimistic about signing castoffs, cheap guys, old guys and hoping they elevate their play and play above their salary ie - watson, hester, arrington, powers, lewis?? so with that in mind - id be open to seeing what ozzie could do with a bit of cash can always dream, pretty much the point of the thread
  18. or lack of talent - jimmy doesnt play - the secondary gets torched by odell and then dez we had guys where they needed to be andthey couldnt stop them, thats not execution that horses - we dont have them, im pretty sure the guys trying to get to the qb are following pees game plan - its not happening, i think thats a talent thing again - just dont have the horses do we roll our dice and hope to bring them in the draft when were whiffing on all our early picks or do we just pony up and bring them in FA, clear out all the dead wood and let kids learn behind some proven talent
  19. We are no longer consistently good - we are consistently mediocre. Results are there for all to see. Might be time to change it up. Be interested to know what Harbaughs thinking on the matter is - we know Ozzies mantras, philosophies and style - but as a coach whose seat is seemingly growing warmer with every loss - does Harbaugh want the team to be a more active player in high end FA.
  20. just the talk of all that cap space had me dreaming talk and sums saying we could possibly have 20 mil floating around, when was the last time we were in that position - if harbaugh makes it through this season, id be campaigning hard to bring in some big free agent pieces - not the usual on the cheap kind of signings we're used to tom coughlin and the giants spring to mind - spend up big after your head coach gets shown the door, or maybe theres more than meets the eye going on in the background - are these harbaughs guys or ozzies
  21. not getting too down here - we were never winning this without jimmy offense needs to do whatever the hell it needs to do to get rolling, we need steve smith back again next year im hoping this was / is ozzies master plan - 2 year process, whatever we achieve this year is a bonus - we're not winning a sb so.... enjoy each win and success of individual players draft is deep at pass rusher and cb this year - we spend early picks on both and our reasonably stout defense gets an upgrade, where its sorely required and then we beef up the line and hopefully thats the key to our offensive woes, get the run game on track - steady production, hopefully we can see something on that side of the ball - another game in the books - when required - our offense is doo doo, no where to be found, be nice to actually see something when called upon
  22. This game hinges on whether or not Jimmy plays. Weve beaten the Browns (still not sure why they pulled their young QB) and Big Ben coming off surgery - our pass rush isn't blowing anybody away with their line and our lack of rush, really need our secondary at full strength
  23. We're staring at the tough part of our schedule kicking off with the Cowboys we may be looking for some passion and inspiration from now to the end of the season, I hope we have it in the building, particularly on offense. If we sputter down the stretch - particularly on offense, particularly Joe, I think this would give some credence to rays opinions If we miss the playoffs again, we have to look at everybody's performance and ask the hard questions
  24. In the back of my mind, I'm also thinking Ray might have done this to well and truly light a fire under Flacco. If he had said something to him in private, would it truly motivate him - Ray might be playing at something here - for the betterment of his beloved Ravens - he knows our defence is on track. Who knows maybe we see a Fired Up Flacco for the second half of the season?
  25. Since Ray n Ed left we've been a pretty mediocre team, with not a lot to get excited about. We all love Steve Smith and he frankly seems to be the heart of the offence, we lost the heart and emotion of our defence last year and we all know how that ended. I still think Ray has a point, lot of good teams and players around but to get you to the top and over the hump - takes some emotion and juice and a bit of fire. im worried what the offence looks like without Steve Smith, hopefully the defence holds up without Suggs too - it's at least pointing in the right direction
