  1. Just bring him back gently, unlike last year, oz n co smartened up and realised when our greatest weapon is the deep throw, we might be best served to have several options - instead of banking on a kid who's never played a down in the league. We really have wasted a couple of years of joes careers and I really don't think it's good enough from our FO. When half the league is still scratching around for quality Qb's and we have a sb winning qb, who only put together the greatest sb run - you get that guy weapons and let him go to work. Trying to trot out Marlon brown and Tandon doss in 13 and going with one deep threat last year - inexcusable.
  2. if its not there dont force it is my opinion here, i understand what we're seeking but im comfortable with what we have and what we can acheive with what we have. if it was critical to our success i imagine we'd be throwing more bodies at the role and not 6th and 7th round picks we won a SB with nobody really filling that shifty slot prototype looking back on our superbowl run - id much rather we just nail down a solid return guy that provides us with some nice field position and a bit of a boost of energy, instead of just hoping theyre not going to muff the catch - be nice to add this dimension to our game again - jacoby was dangerous
  3. After watching our first preseason game, I'm not fretting over Reynolds or camp- they either show something, getting and staying healthy in camps case and being a sure handed dynamic returner, playmaker in Reynolds case. Otherwise we let Dixon return, it's not like we're sending out our only elite receiver in the case of smith or one of our healthy cbs- in the case of Webb. If we're going to carry 4 backs, let's use them and Dixon looked fine returning to me. We literally could have 9 or 10 short to intermediate targets, playmakers - sss, Aiken, Wallace, pitta, Watson, Gilmore, Forsett, buck, Dixon, do we really need another body there?? Make room for the defensive side of the ball ill b interested to see if Dixon returns more sorry grabbed wrong quote - was somebody talking bout Reynolds
  4. I'm more worried about the Giants d, they looked good against Miami, they were getting to tannehill in their stadium with crowd behind them - that could b a long day that could b a brutal stretch - raiders, Giants, jets
  5. After watching the game again - I'm encouraged by our offensive schemes, play calling - particularly regarding our short to intermediate stuff - given that we were fairly successful with no deep threats or deep shots and the only receiver that shows up on the stat sheet is butler, we were able to effectively move the chains today, mostly targeting our tight ends and backs. Obviously it's preseason and all that but from what we showed today - with tight ends and receivers who may not even make the team - throw some legitimate receivers and deep threats in - we should have a nice balance across all 3 levels. from what I saw today I'm not even concerned with camp, if he doesn't show he can get on the field consistently just move on, we should be fine for short to intermediate targets
  6. Interested to see how our secondary looks in this game, should be a good test
  7. Jags offense looks dynamic against a solid jets defense - Just looking at the early games, hope we have a couple wins on the board heading there
  8. agreed, in regards to next offseason. cant see our defense winning us any games this year - contain, bend dont break looks like the best we can hope for, this season - that seemed to be on full display on the opening drive
  9. its only one preseason game but we're not having much luck with these cast off secondary players - arrington, lewis, powers looked slow today - all been heralded as such shrewd signings by oz, get talked up all training camp, n do nothing and i know its only one drive but powers looked horrible hopefully some of our kids, young, canady, can start to develop, rather than having to waste money on guys that are on their way out, or werent much to begin with or now that we got some cap space stop being bargain bin hunters and go out and spend some cash on a top tier corner to pair with jimmy (fingers crossed gets healthy)
  10. dixon to return?? looked great on the return i saw
  11. agreed thought davis looked good, powers looked ugly - starting corners jimmy n davis, young in the slot??
  12. thought our first defensive effort was pretty ugly, our depth for the rest of the game was good. we're going to have the best 2nd and 3rd stringers going around but our 1st team defense won't be stopping anybody
  13. not too enthused from our first defensive effort of the season
  14. Sorry to keep going on - can a coach or assistant work with a player individually while they're on PUP, so for instance teams practicing and the player is on the inside track, doing some stuff with an assistant?
  15. Cheers for the help, one last question - sorry to bug u - what is the definition of practice and how much do they police it? Like can the player do weights, rehab, running routes away from the team or on his own
  16. Are you not able to practice if you're on Pup?
  17. I think perriman may definitely be a candidate for PUP, let's just take it easy on his knees - we know what happened last time we tried to rush him back. At this stage we just want to get him on the field, we hopefully don't need to rely on him for the depth threat, if Wallace has it still and Moore performs as advertised.
  18. posted this question against an article about the depth chart - im still new to the intricacies of nfl rosters, ir, ps, pup etc im not familiar with how the pup works - can we stash guys there to activate later in the season?? i believe they have to miss the first 6 weeks if theyre on pup to start season so in theory have smith & perriman stay on PUP - take their time to come back - enabling us to carry 4 backs, 4 TEs and 6 or 7 receivers not named smith or perriman we may have some injuries in the first 6 weeks, like campanaro, one of the backs, pitta (touch wood) - can we free up 2 spots initially by doing this??
  19. guy im still new to the intricacies of the system - if guys start the season on PUP - say smith, perriman, they dont count against the active 53 man roster?? what happens if theyre on PUP - they have to sit first 6 weeks? can we take all our receivers into the season then - with smith and perriman on PUP - see how it shakes out, active them after 6 weeks and cut or place on IR whoever is injured or hasnt cut it
  20. agreed, lets just move forward, we can look for a slot guy in the next draft if our 6th round project doesnt work out
  21. ok cool, thanks for the info, lets hope he can get back to full speed for the start of the season
  22. not having a go, i've just broken my ankle before and had one of those massive walking boots that basically comes all the way up to your knee - this is what i imagined moore was wearing - hence the comment is he in something a little more nimble? in which case - hopefully its not a huge issue
  23. haha - how well can you move in a walking boot? walking boot doesn't fill me with confidence - is that achilles, tendon, plantar fiaschiyyy whatever have we ever been told what this injury actually is? i dont care about time frames or what harbs did or didnt say - just want to know if theyve said what it was
  24. get over it bro, who cares - clogging up the thread with bs - can we just talk about training camp and players not he said she said bs
  25. is there any news on Chris Moore, is he still in a walking boot? would like to start the season with a couple of healthy deep threats - we are at our most dangerous when we have multiple deep threats
