  1. Thanks for that mcjack yeah so pretty much thinking we need to be dressing and playing Judon, Correa, Perriman, Moore, Henry, Waller A first and a 2nd round pick - these are the guys that we need to be counting on to carry us forward to our next SB We think we hit on Judon, pretty sure he's been a healthy scratch few times - dress him and get him out there, much as I love Steve Smith, he's not carrying us to a SB on his own - as much as he tries, know he came back for one last run but I don't think it's happening - if we think Moore can play get him and Perriman out there and let them play. Get rid of Hester and get Moore returning. lets give Willie Henry some snaps and see what we've got
  2. We went into the season with the intention of starting 2 rookies on the blind side. We balked at signing Long because he wouldn't sign a waiver. When Stanley was out there we looked OK and I think we might have held up ok if we had been able to slide Long in to cover while Stanley's out.
  3. Mods can you please change the title of the thread to - Time to play our kids / draft picks
  4. Cool let it play out, once were mathematically out of contention - play the kids. As for that run - How many HOF did we have on that side - we had a oline, we had a D, we had young guys working in tandem with old guys, we had guys who could make plays on offense, we had guys making plays on d we went 12 - 4 the prior season whilst winning the division. wake up, people need to be realistic Ill bump this thread at the end of the season when we're picking in the top 5 again We need a rebuild, sooner Harbs n Co realise the quicker we can begin the process
  5. Cool bud, see how we go after the bye - probably be on a 5 game losing streak and then we'll get the browns. i never said stop trying but even the biggest homer surely doesn't think we can make a playoff run from here. just play the kids and see what we've got or scratch and fight tooth and nail with guys who will retire at the end of the season and then wonder in the offseason what we have delaying the inevitable - need to start assessing our young players and just giving them experience if we lose by 10 with our old guys or by 20 with our kids - were still not doing jack if it's with our kids, we're giving them in game experience, build some fortitude and see what we have in the cupboard
  6. No that's a great point - we aren't doing much with our picks anyway maybe we do need a regime change wonder what bisciottis thinking
  7. Not calling for a flat out try to lose - if we put our young guys out and we win, go hard. We are where we are because we're hanging on to players and driving them into the ground whilst adding complementary pieces - thinking we're a couple players away from a SB we can't even beat a 1-5 side or the redskins at home guyd like Correa, Judon and ZDS are our future OLB - play them Moore and Perriman should be taking snaps over Aiken and Smith moore or even tavon young should be returning need to start looking forward and stop looking backwards - since our SB we don't look good i didn't say stop trying or lose on purpose - I suggested a youth movement and we live with the results good or bad - with an eye to developing our young guys so we are competing for a SB in 2 or 3 year window
  8. Think we need to just clean out the dead wood player wise and pretty much just play our draft picks from here on out win or lose Commit to getting younger and healthier - no more Hester's, Watson's,We're not a punt returner or a 35yr old tight end away from a super bowl- we can't even make the playoffs let Ozzie and Harbs oversee a rebuild - maintain stability - get rid of Pees and hire a legit coordinator or if Marty shows something - let's run with it time to clean house and rebuild if we see progress then keep Harbs, he just hasnt got the troops at the moment, he and Ozzie have to accept some responsibility for the fact a lot of our salary is tied up in guys who aren't on the field Ozzie needs to adapt to the new NFL- we need legit #1 receivers we need a juiced up secondary to slow down the AJ greens and obj not picking up the scraps and expecting different results - seriously we hear the same gash every preseason- oh this guy is around the ball, this guy is such a ball hawk, this guy has sooo many interceptions - Wright, Arrington, Lewis, Webb, Powers not going to cut it. I'd like to see if Harbs can develop a team as opposed to coach one he inherited
  9. Did a bit of search couldnt find anything. I know the front office discussion can merge into a lot of threads - hopefully this could be a place to discuss in detail - without hijacking other threads. I think this stage of the season is an appropriate time to discuss or at least voice opinions on what the Front Office is doing, direction we are taking, be it in regards to draft picks, roster moves, free agent signings. Given not a single competitive game has been played nobody's really right or wrong - see what the results and players show us when we look back on the season.
  10. Hall of Fame not so sure, I think he rode a few Hofers to a SB and since then - not much to show, if he can generate a team that even gets close to our recent SB winning side then maybe we can be talking Hof. im just a bit dismayed with the identification and then generation of talent and the current makeup of our team - somethings gotta give Either guys start stepping up and we start winning or we keep losing and we pick high again - I'm not holding my breath for the winning part we may actually need a few losing seasons to build a core of Similar caliber to the last Ray & Ed side
  11. I still just feel if we had of upgraded shareece, and really stacked the pass rush in the draft, at the expense of - Watson, Wallace and KC - think we'd be sitting pretty as opposed to going into rd 7 facing a must win game with a patchwork defense
  12. Given our draft position this year we had a great chance to load up on high end talent, wouldn't have taken much to get back into the first - we added a lot of players - time will tell john might not be around to see our picks fulfill their potential though
  13. The Watson signing looks really stupid, how many teams give money to 35 year old guys - more money we could have saved
  14. Late round gems are nice but we're seriously looking at what 1 in 5 being meaningful contributors. They need to be complimentary not core. What are we looking at to move up from our position close to the top of the 2nd round to back into the first - we were receiving fourth round picks to move back. I'm looking at draft value chart and I think u could do it by packaging 4th n 5th or something close if all it takes is packaging up my 4 - 7th round picks to move up and get who I want - make it happen if I have to throw in my 3rd I think about it a bit more but let's start doing it - we need elite talent, we need pro bowlers, difference makers it's generally found in rounds 1 and 2 yeah we like having more picks but we're just getting more average, time to start turning quantity into quality ozzie good and picking up scraps and late round players but again they need to be complimentary not core - looking at you shareece wright agree a bit in regards to judon n Moore we'll see what type of careers they have but I thought right now we needed young stud pass rushers and corners and they were there for the taking we could have had Kevin Dodd out there paired up with Suggs, ZDS, kept somebody like Ochi around - could have just put Doom on IR come back fresh second half of the season we possibly still could have picked up judon well see what we got with our 2 for 1 when KC n Judon get playing time im against constantly using picks on RBs too, we're starting a guy we picked up off the scrap heap, prior to that Forsett just go all out n get a stud or just use those 4th rounders to move up or draft some corners or pass rushers - we can pick up a RB every day of the week
  15. Since the Super Bowl 2014 is the outlier. Harbs was pretty lucky with talent assembled when he arrived - Ray, Ed, Ngata, Suggs, lot of talent - like to think we could achieve something special with all that talent and we did. Other than 2014, we're a losing side - I honestly give Kubiak the credit for that season - our offense looked pretty awful to start last season when we went 2 - 6, we lost a couple players - torrey and Daniels but surely part of your job as hc is to make sure you've got the pieces you need to be successful - complete failure on a few levels we started a season with no legit deep threats - prob why we go 2 - 6 As for being decimated by injuries, that's due to the fact we're relying on 30+ guys to be our bread n butter n surprise surprise they're breaking down. why are we still relying on guys who should be winding down and backing up our younger players because since Harbs has come thru - we're not turning up or coaching up enough talent to replenish our team we can't keep using the injury excuse - were injured because we're ancient anyway see we are at the end of the season, the kids and the talent we have assembled under Harbs is about to get a run hopefully we're moving in the right direction and 2014 and the SB year aren't set to be distant memories
  16. Totally agree - interested how much input he has into the draft - if he's getting his guys and these are the results - ie no playoffs 3 of 4 years time for a change
  17. Given what we've been putting in the field last few years - thinking its time for a change but I'd prefer we change head coach and philosophy ie stop being scared of a little bit of nasty or character concerns when drafting or looking at free agents stop hoarding and valuing picks so highly we are the most average team at the moment just like our record - no pro bowlers, no young studs just average across the board something has to change regarding the talent the front office is assembling
  18. Not sure why we've waited so long should have been stocking that cupboard every year
  19. I'm sure I read somewhere we had about 10 mil in cap space at some stage this offseason - I was dreaming about Josh Norman. Guy would take our secondary to another level - definitely plays like a Raven Wouldnt bother with Watson or Hester, not sure if we could have still landed Wallace and Weddle- if we could squeeze in Weedle - would be ideal - could hopefully get by with a mix of SSR, Aiken, Pitta, Perriman, Moore, Williams, Gilmore and loaded up on receivers next draft Norman, Jimmy, Weedle - not sold on Webb - with Young in the slot loaded up on legit pass rushers in the second and 3rd round and 4th and 5th veteran secondary, nice solid front with jernigan, Williams and just let the young bucks loose on the QB weve tried to squeeze every last drop out of doom n Suggs - do t think there's much juice left
  20. http://www.espn.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id/89755/there-are-52-million-painful-reasons-why-ravens-could-lose-to-one-win-jets It's the second consecutive season the Ravens have dealt with widespread injuries, and Baltimore has to take some responsibility for it because it relies on older players. Six of the nine players who are sidelined are players who are over the age of 30.
  21. 6 weeks into the season and a few things are starting to shape up, play out for mine we came out of last season and entered this season knowing we needed to bolster our pass rush and secondary - endless discussion about it and now 6 games in our aging pass rushers cant stay on the field, no surprise and we cant blame the players themselves. We cant honestly expect 30 something guys to be and stay healthy, im not overly enthused about whos waiting in the wings but we're about to find out what we've got we were in prime position to really add a young stud - no ifs but or maybe - we could have been really aggressive and moved back up into the first and had our pick of pass rushers but ozzie wanted picks on picks on picks - about to see if our offseason work be it draft or (lack of)free agents - if trading back for kc and getting judon in the process, will be enough to at a bare minimum keep us competitive this season. i personally think its a complete waste of a pick in relation to this year - guy might pan out in a few years but if mosley, suggs and doom arent playing and our coaching staff cant find room for KC - i just have huge questions, particularly given our draft position. our secondary - we needed to bring in a corner to pair with jimmy - either high in the draft or free agency - we didnt - we trot out wright is the answer, no he's not - guy is contributing to the problem, just giving away touchdowns for fun - we could fairly say he was a major factor in our loss to oakland at home, weak secondary, corner play - cost us against giants too - not once but twice - we can sit and watch a game and see the results squarely in front of our faces - we need better corners, our corners are getting burnt, yet the fo just crosses their fingers and hopes the best - our pass rush will be better which weill alllow our secondary to better - yeah neither is better and guess what - in the same boat as last season some of our other signings or non signings arent looking great now - watson, hester - really dont see the benefit in bringing these guys in in the first instance - let moore and webb return - moore can grow with the role and webby can fair catch when we need sure hands - instead we are wasting money on somebody who hasnt shown much and isnt really helping our team, whos 50 and now banged up - eating up cap, why are we spending money on a 35 year old TE - never saw a snap, eating up cap, taking snaps away from our 2nd round pick from the previous year, i know maxx is injured now but we pick somebody in the second last year and then the following year we almost contradict our pick and bring in somebody who plays the exact same position - but hes 50 years old, why stunt a 2nd round picks development, ok max gets injured we have gilmore and give dan brown snaps - this thinking that pitta wont even play, grab some ps guys - surely we can find and assemble a decent TE group between max, gilmore, brown, waller, boyle but a vet who might have actually, realistically been the difference between a W or L against oakland and possibly washington - in jake long - we let walk!! all we needed out of long is maybe 3 or 4 games for the season - that signing i feel could have been the difference between us being 3-3 or 4-2, 5-1 i have no problem with bringing vets in for depth - to back up our young guys in a pinch because we know injuries happen even too our kids but they seem to occur more for guys over the age of 30 - just feels like 6 games into this season we have pretty much the same questions as we had at the end of last season - no pass rush, inconsistent secondary, inconsistent offence add a banged up patchwork offensive line to the equation anyhow if what our FO has assembled doesnt pan out - we'll probably be picking high again in the coming draft - maybe ozzie can stop trying to be so cute - trade up instead of down for a change and if we have a need - just draft it and maybe double dip and dont try and get cute and thinking we're smarter than everybody else and convert people or play them out of position - just identify the best guy and dont be scared to package up some late round picks and go get our man - i dont think a 4-7th rounder will be the difference between being a superbowl contender but going up a few spots and picking your guy or guys as opposed to trading back and getting an afterthought might be team just feels like a leaky boat, sticking fingers in holes but the holes just getting bigger and then other holes are appearing - might be time to take the boat out of the water, strip it right back and rebuild it
  22. our pass rush is non existent at present and we have a high 2nd round pick tabbed as a pass rusher not even sniffing the field - i know we traded back and picked up a few other guys but there was a whole host of pass rushers available - i just wish we'd get aggressive some time and go after guys we like, rather than let them go else where and we go oh well lets trade back and trade back again - teams must be lining up to take our call so they can move up - whilst we hoard late round picks like theres never going to be another draft ozzie knows how to handle his business but i really wish we'd step up our draft game and be aggressive, damn decosta saying it was like having 2 first round picks this year because we were picking so high - what have we got to show for it right now - stanley and what else - a ST'er I know we all gushed over moore, dixon and judon but they arent helping us - i wish we'd be a bit more NOW focused and be aggressive in grabbing high end talent and not scared to double dip and load up at positions of need could have grabbed stanley, turned around and packaged some picks, gone and got dodd and double dipped and gone after another pass rusher - know kaufasi got injured id rather start packaging up my abundance of late round picks to move up and start getting high end talent that is going to help this team cos right now we have a whole heap of guys who are promising but arent making a difference - i think this is is starting to show with our team - we got burnt by high end talent today and we couldnt answer back because we dont have our own high end talent
  23. might be looking for more than just an OC if MM doesnt work out, prob a few jobs on the line on the back of the rest of this season pretty sure harbs is on the hot seat and has a lot riding on this season, hence why he wasnt shy pulling the plug on trestman why did we hire trestman to begin with??
  24. im in australia and have to get up at 1am to watch the game and its just rubbish!! just feel disgusted with harbaugh and trestman at the moment cant believe harbaugh is saying we have to play better, the play calling was absolutely atrocious - i knew it was only a matter of time before the skins hit the front after the fake punt and the useless playcalling in the backend of the 1st half - a big part of me wanted the skins to takeover and get the lead because hopefully we would wake up and get a rocket up our OC i hope biscotti is on the phone to ozzie laying down the law - its not like we just lost b2b home games to the bengals and patriots next man up, get rid of this bum already - harbs better smarten up and realise he'll be on the hot seat too, if he doesn't get this rubbish sorted. we go no playoffs 3 of 4 years - shake it up we have more weapons than we've ever had and we cant put A SINGLE POINT ON THE BOARD AT HOME in a second half of a winnable game, against one of the weakest defences in the league defense must be so demoralized at the moment, force the fumble on the 20, dont get a single thing to show for it, that affects a human being, get stops, force quick outs, offense gives you nothing, not only are they having to battle the opposition, they have the offense and ST giving them horrible field position continuously and absolutely no rest - they can only do so much maybe trestman should take some notes from what the redskins were doing, quick passes, just get the ball out of joes hands pick up 4 or 5 yards and then hit them with some run, sprinkle in some shots downfield and down the seams the players can only do so much when you are not put in a position to succeed and you are playing with one hand tied behind your back hopefully this is the 2 game skid / wake up call we need to sort this calamity we call an offense out - get rid of this joker already - coaching staff could hide behind injuries last year - there are no excuses for losing this game if harbaugh doesnt man up and do whats best for the team and this franchise - happily see him get his marching orders too - this coaching is a disgrace right now
  25. How do we get shut out for a half by one of worst defences arounded?
