Cheers mate, I know Kaufusi got injured. Shouldn't have mentioned him, that's hypocritical since I've had Perriman's back through his injury.
But Correa however is legit imo. We needed pass rush last year as well, and we draft a project in the second - his production taken into account he should have been acquired 1-2 rounds later. Also, most rumors seem to project him at ILB.

Btw, I'm not an Ozzie hater at all. Actually really like our FO, but sometimes I just wish they would address need over BPA - just once in a while at anemic positions. We really have no speed off the edge, no one jumps into the backfield.

The trade downs the Ravens did got them a 5th round pick who matched the production.  Basically the Ravens have great players for years at 9 of the 11 starting positions on defense, would I like it be 11? Of course but I can't complain about where the defense is right now.

Agreed on yesterday's pick. What a waste and Harbaugh will be the one to get the axe, not the FO. The best DB in football is only as good as the ability of the DL to get to the QB. The Steelers sure aren't quaking in their boots at that pick. Big Ben still looks to have all day when the chips are down.

Coverage sacks are and will continue to be a thing in the NFL.

Prisco said scouts saw serious deficiencies. And when he talked to his Bama mates younger cornerbacks outplayed him. And QBs actually picked on him because the younger cornerbacks were better in deep coverage. And that is fact. He gave up 19 ypc and was picked on after the younger guys held up better in coverage. GMs send out smoke screens all the time. But the Bama coaches do not have a reason to. One of those guys put Corey Davis late round1!! Since his college coaches see the action close up I'm going with what those sources said about Humphrey.

And yet despite knowing that he was still the second highest rated CB on most teams boards.  If he had no flaws he would have been top 5.

Sorta like last year's pot of pash rusher: Correa and Kaufusi? Correa was a crazy reach imo.
We desperately need some speed outside. One of Williams/Lawson/Bowser/Willis should be available at 47 and we need to pull the triggah.

You mean the guy we knew would need a year and the guy who happened to get an injury that ended his season.  I mean I get that since Ozzie hit on pretty much every other pick you have to find something to complain about but still that's a massive reach.

jimmy is a solid player but i think we may have seen the best of him. He's almost 30! Time flies eh? I just wish we had an all pro type of talent at corner for once..the only guy we've ever had that could be considered elite was C-Mac. Webb had his 1 season but thats not enough for me.

The Ravens use Jimmy in such a way that he can not be going for interceptions.  He is too often left on his own with no help and the opponents still won't try him.  ONLY an all-pro CB could pull that off.

If you want more INTs get a 2nd corner who doesn't require the entire defense to baby him and then they will bappen.

How is it hindsight WHEN they hadnt played? Also perriman and elam for the millionth time was NOT HINDSIGHT.

i hate denial of someone being right just because the outcome wasnt great.

First off you are judging Perriman WAY too early.  Let the guy have an actual off-season before we start judging of his weaknesses from college can be coached away.  It's kinda hard to do that though when freak injuries (which were NOT part of equation when drafting him because he wasn't an injury risk) detail first few seasons.

Second didn't someone already note in your publicly viewable post history that you didn't even mention Perriman until AFTER we drafted him.  Since you were right on Elam and wrong on Williams i will give you 50 percent accuracy which is not bad I guess.

Again, best player available.  Weddle at 32 isn't going to factor into me passing on a potential transcendent talent.

So if Green Bay had the power to draft Luck a few years ago they should have done it?  BPA does require they actually see the field.  I am not advocating for drafting purely based on need because teams that do that lose.  I am advocating against blindly following a board and ignoring what players you actually have.  Going from Weddler to Hooker is a small upgrade at best, but grabbing Reddick or Barnett or even trading back to grab great 2nd round picks is a MUCH bigger upgrade to the roster overall.

The goal of the draft is to make your roster stronger and I would rather go from a 3 to an 8 at a major impact position then an 9 to a 9.5.

Where do you get a 20% chance?  That's just adding numbers to state your case.  My case is this.  If Hooker is as high on the Ravens board as he is mine, you take him.

Look at the top 5 picks for the past 10 years.  Tell me how many are top 5 players at there position.  I am GIVING you the fact that he pans out.  Is that small of an upgrade worth giving up a MASSIVE upgrade at pass rush.  I would rather trade back and take an O-Line and grab an extra 2 then make that pick because this draft is so deep.

And?  He's a top talent that would have a spot here, despite your insistence that he wouldn't.  You aren't relegated to 2 safeties maximum on the field.

Lets assume that he pans out (realistically 20% chance of this) to his potential and is a top 3 NFL safety.  Is that a bigger upgrade then picking one of the top pass rushers or trading back and grabbing a second and building more weapons?  I love BPA but you balance that against how much an upgrade over the current position are they.

You do realize Webb is likely a 1 year deal and Weddle isn't exactly young, right?  You don't draft based on 2017 only.

I wasnt talking about Webb.  Webb was a very good safety but you are forgetting about Jefferson and as "old" as Weddle was he was the top safety in the NFL last year.  Even if he starts showing his age now thats still 2 more full seasons before Hooker catches up to him and Jefferson is in his prime.

Because he's a great talent.  I'm not reaching for need when I have a guy rated as highly as him on the board.  He's in my "elite" category so that's just me.  You can easily put Jefferson or Weddle into more of a dime role though.

Right now you KNOW you have 2 of the top 5 safeties in the league and likely the best combo in the NFL.  IF he turns out to be everything you think he is how big of an upgrade is that versus the upgrade you are looking at pass rusher or even grabbing Lattimore (who i love but thought was impossible)

I don't really care about right away, for what it's worth.  If you have a shot at a potential transcendent talent, you take him.

He isnt going to be beating them out until his 3rd year...maybe.  You have possibly the top safety combo in the NFL.  Why take a player who will likely not contribute for several years.
