  1. Wasn't it just last year the Ravens had to simply the defensive scheme because it was too complex for the, players and big plays were being given up? I get people want to blame everything on Pees but players play not the coaches.
  2. I mean of course its speculation but both years both teams were missing there best offensive and defensive weapons who were almost certainly playing at a top 5 level for there position and both games were a 1 score game. Are you honestly telling me that the Pats with Gronk and Talib or the Ravens with Pitta and Smith could not get 1 extra score or 1 less score from that. Especially for the Ravens when the ONLY reason the pats won that game is because they abused Jimmys replacement for almost 150 yards in one half which would NOT have happened to Jimmy.
  3. That was a let down game and EVERYONE who saw it knew that. SSS was the only one really playing hard out there and thats because it was his last game. Had that game had actual meaning everyone knows it goes far differently.
  4. Ive always said the year the Ravens beat them the Ravens would have lost if Pats had Gronk or Talib just as I think the Ravens would have won if they had either Pitta or Smith. In the playoffs the team with the healthiest top players typically wins when you get down to the top teams.
  5. You better believe we draft Jimmy again with what we know now. The only thing we better be only ones blessed with this clairvoyance or he wouldn't make it to us.
  6. Firstly ignore the cap number and ask is he worth or can you replace that production for 5.5 million? 5.5 million is the savings by cutting him and I think he is certainly worth that. Secondly last year they were competitive being 1 play and about a yard from winning the division which seems pretty competitiveto me so they just need a small boost to make it back to January.
  7. I can't see Indy passing on OLine after how bad it's been and how important Luck is to them especially when there chief competition has built a fearsome pass rush.
  8. You know they were 1 play and about 1 yard off winning the division right? How much closer to being a playoff team can you be than that.
  9. Why would Flacco have any motivation to agree to a payout cut. The only time players ever agree to one is when being released is an actual issue and that player will not make as much on the open market. Both of those are untrue here and before you quote his cap number to say he would make (if you were able to somehow make cutting him not automatically make the Ravens franchise a 1-2 win franchise for the next 2 years) his cap number is NOT his salary and he can double his salary on the open market easily.
  10. Before I say anything your tone here basically proves his point that you dont actually understand what you are talking about because when you act dismissively like that you look like the fool. To cement that point his cap hit is about what you get if you have one of the 15 starting QBs who can take a team to the Super Bowl. Only half the QBs in the league can do it they all command 20M annually or are on rookie deals and if you dont have one you ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT. Every year you look at the teams in the championships games and they always seem to have the guy. Every once in awhile you get a team like the Jets that can sneak that far without one but if you want to win a Super Bowl which only 1 team gets to do and 31 teams get to be disappointed that they didnt you have to have a guy who can take you there.
  11. They also picked Alex Lewis in round 4 so they were not exactly lying.
  12. There is a difference between speed and being able to get separation. Way too often our WR could not get separation from the corners and so it didn’t matter if they were 10 yards down field or 40.
  13. Based on what? All he had was a mediocre rookie season that was more talk than walk.
  14. Being essentially less than rookie with no training camp is just a reality not an excuse.
  15. On the field Ray was a liability the year they won the Super Bowl. If the Ravens were dumb enough to fire him he would have his pick of coaching vacancies to choose from because the league knows what a lot of people here miss and that is that John is a top 5 head coach who is a master at getting the most out of his players every week.
  16. Teams overpaying to move up because they want a guy would lend credence to my point that it'll be very costly to move up. Also a lot of pro bowl players are found in the middle rounds. Obviously less than the top but for example the Ravens are trying to sign there 3rd round pick in Williams who is a problem bowl level player AND Wagner, a 5th round pick, who is also a pro bowl level player.
  17. Apparently the division rankings dont know that the Ravens finished 3rd because the standings show that the Ravens finished 2nd. 2nd is higher than 3rd and only one step away from being champs (which is something that Ravens always seem to struggle with for some reason,)
  18. I do not think the Ravens are going to be putting Lewis at RT. If they thought he could play it than he would have been put there earlier in the year instead of Hurst. It's the main reason that losing Wagner is a huge deal because unless the current backup tackles have been holding back the depth at that position is weak.
  19. It's not like it's hard to know what it would cost to move back into the first round with the picks we have. There is a chart that has been around awhile that assigns point values to each pick and you can use that as a rough guideline for trades as most teams do. In regards to his estimate jumping 17-19 spots to get back into the 1st round would probably cost at least a 2nd 3rd and 4th. It's a huge jump and picks deprecate in value quickly so it's not exactly a move in would make in a draft this deep.
  20. You keep posting this same silliness in every news thread but you will never say how or why Joe or any QB who isn't Tom Brady would leave money on the table or even give it back as you are suggesting. Also coming off the leagues best draft and a wildly successful free agency last year you want ozzie to retire...I am really glad you don't get to make that choice
  21. 31 other starting QBs are not doing that but then again they also are not in position where they have nearly the sponsorship dollars he does and more importantly a wife bringing home 40 million per year so you don't need to worry about theextra million here or there.
  22. Being actually healthy instead of coming off an injury when you clearly are not healthy is the first big step. Flacco got that injury too late in the year to be fully recovered in time for the season and that was a big deal.
  23. They were great the entire playoffs and 2.5 quarters of the Super Bowl until SF realized Ray Lewis was actually a liability on the field and abused him the 1.5 quarters.
  24. Teams that draft for need (QB is always the exception) end up watching the playoffs whereas teams that draft BPA are participating in it. You can't be desperately trying to use the draft to plug the needs because you will never keep up and since you will only hit on 50% of picks and far less as rookies you are going to have these massive holes every year.
  25. He was graded as the 9th best center in the NFL so there is something that is happening in the plays that fans must be missing or the grading system itself has a fundamental flaw (or there are just not a lot of good centers in the NFL).
