  1. The Ravens could go 0-16 and Ozzie has a job next year. People are assuming a hot seat where there isn't one.
  2. I think you are vastly underestimating how, poorly Pittsburgh matches up against the Ravens. They barely won a game at home with the sole reason being a lack of secondary depth which has been addressed and early on in the, season when they are most likely to be healthy...no chance.
  3. I would think with the timing of his injury he will be full power around midway through the season so it is the best possible time to face him. Ideally the Ravens are either 3-2 or 4-1 after 5 though with 4 VERY winnable games in a row to put them in a perfect position to make the, playoffs.
  4. There are completely viable scenarios where the Ravens do not even draft an offensive player before their 4th pick so it's premature to assumecits going to be a WR.
  5. If Sidney Jones is available at 99 then 32 NFL teams (yes I am including the Ravens in that) have all gone crazy.
  6. You are still WAY too soon to judge Perriman but we will know after this year. As for the question, if they get Barnett I am ecstatic and everything else I am pretty meh on not because they are not worth the pick but because there are so many players worth the pick that I won't really mind most of them
  7. It's easy to state that on draft night (like everyone bashing the Stanley pick on these forums did) but,a year or two from now will you own the result if you are wrong.
  8. Indy is going to pick oline. I don't think the GM keeps his job thru the draft if they don't build an Oline to protect the QB they gave a mega deal to.
  9. Ross's scouting report is basically a copy paste of Perriman's so why draft Ross when you have Perriman who WILL be starting next year barring injury. The only thing the Ravens would do if they got yet another speed receiver is cut Wallace to save money. If Williams or Davis are there (and Barnett isn't) then by all means draft them but Ross is just a worse copy paste of what we already have.
  10. I don't think you know what depth is. Depth is what you have BEHIND the starters, as in the people who WON'T be on the field every play. Right now the two starters are Wallace and Perriman with the later finally getting the much needed off-season to grow what he needed, but yes BEHIND them there is not much. The people behind them are the depth.
  11. I mean unless I'm misreading your board I sprint up there to grab Barnett at 16 and am happier for it.
  12. It's cute that you think that it would have played out any different. Moving up that far for a player whose role was being reduced and who will be gone next year is a huge bonus to the Ravens.
  13. I don't think it'll move a QB up as the team's considering him puck after the Ravens.
  14. I am pretty sure if Indy does not go O-Line then Andrew Luck will fly to wherever the GM is and strangle him.
  15. First off, Mallet is not a better QB. Secondly, your plan is to go from a playoff level team to tanking the next 2 years when the Ravens already have a pretty young core of players? You plan things badly and should stop making plans.
  16. The Ravens are always good about finding some random player we have never heard of to be the 2nd ILB. They have been doing it for over a decade now after all so I am sure there is some player who takes his place who will look like a pro bowler.
  17. I honestly dont think you understand how NFL trades work. If they traded him it would be effectively be the same as cutting him for cap purposes and I believe that would give the Ravens cap hits of 46M this year and around 30M next year (someone can probably check those numbers I am less sure on them). I mean you could do it but the result is going to put you over the cap so a lot of talented players are going to have to be cut to get under the cap number for the year. and also next year you might as well forget about trying to sign anyone.
  18. You do not understand how bonuses work thats why when people say he is getting 6M this year that is what he is getting. his cap hit is 24M but thats because of those first 3 years you delayed the cap hits until now when its time to pay them up, there is no reason to delay them any further when there is nothing left to get in FA. The problem is the FA options are WORSE. The free agent options at RT at the moment all suffer from not being very good at RT. The Ravens have enough cap space to grab whoever they want they just are not good enough to be worth grabbing.
  19. Except the reason for that is that for the first 3 years of his post super bowl contract his cap hits were 6M 14M and 14M. The numbers that were being put off are finally owe for now which is why his actual salary this year is only 6M. Ignoring that, every option in FA at RT suffers from not being very good so your idea is flawed in multiple levels
  20. They are clearly buying Urschal or someone on the roster or they would not have made that hole themselves. They did not need the cap savings so it was purely done with the idea that they had an upgrade on the roster.
  21. Okay, the overwhelming majority of players selected in rounds 4 and onward are not big time playmakers. Yes there are exceptions but there is a reason the majority of 4th round picks are not picked in the first 3 rounds and yes i am sure there is a chance that 1 of the 150 players drafted after the 3rd round will turn into a playmaker but its going to be mostly luck that determines that because if you honestly think you have a high skill player they are not going to last that long.
  22. I mean basically in the NFL under this rule anytime you are about to give up a pass of 15 yards or more you are basically going to do all but tackle your guy to the ground. The thing about college is the WR and QBs are worse so to a reasonable degree there will be mistakes but in the NFL its a disaster waiting to happen.
  23. Because everyone saw that game for what it was...a letdown game where had the Ravens needed it tge probably win especially since the Bengals had no motivation to do so. In fact losing that meaningless game was good for the Ravens.
  24. O-linemen who are any good generally are not hitting free agency anymore. Look how bad the remaining options at RT are for instance. There has never been a greater emphasis on building a great OLine then there is right now in the NFL and since every team wants to do it those players are at a premium.
