  1. Its not so much that they are the best defense in the NFL so much as they are the best defense in the NFL against what the Ravens had. Offensively they had a good offensive guard play but an injured LT with a pretty good number 1 WR in Steve Smith with the rest of the weapons being average or inexperienced. Denver has a very good number 1 DB and a very solid pass rush to not allow the rest of the weapons time to get open. Not many teams can claim to have both of those this season so it was the worst possible matchup at the worst possible time.
  2. The problem is you really REALLY dont want your number 1 aging wide receiver being the kick returner especially when we saw in game 3 the difference the offense is with and without him on the field. Id rather almost every punt just be fair caught then risk the entire season with Steve Smith return.
  3. Well thats why Brown is on the bubble. You cant be bad on special teams and not expected to ever see the field in the regular season and expect to have a safe roster spot.
  4. The Ravens probably have it down to at least the final 55-56 players so the rest of the 75 roster spots are basically strictly to protect the starters for this game. Just because you were in the first 15 cut does not make you one of the worst 15 on the roster.
  5. He listed 2 players who have an injury history and said that if they are not injured that the offense will be fine but yet somehow our secondary which has exactly the same problem needs depth?
  6. This game basically reaffirmed that none of the receivers who are not Steve Smith can step up if he goes down so they 100% need Perriman to get healthy and on the field because everyone else is basically a good number 3 wideout or a below average 2 and you cant win games with that. Also really hoping none of the injuries are serious of course because the injury bug has sort of bit enough this offseason and it does not need to keep biting.
  7. Yanda and to a lesser extent KO are going to be taking much bigger contract numbers then I think you are expecting especially considering both are elite guards and Yanda is still probably the best guard in the league. Just at those 4 I would say you are looking at maybe 18-20M a year just ballparking it which is a lot of capspace.
  8. We all know he could get an extra first down or two a game if he were more willing to run for it but we also have to remember that the reason Joe Flacco has not missed a single game in his career is because he is smart enough to know that one or two first downs a game is not worth ending the season over. In the playoffs sure I want him to bite scratch and claw and do whatever it takes to win, and his playoff numbers speak to him doing just that, but in the regular season I dont want the franchise QB taking risks just to get a single first down because the goal of the regular season is just to get to the postseason healthy and if you have home field that is great but being healthy is more important.
  9. Super Bowl rings sort of fix that especially considering he is basically perfection come playoff time.
  10. Ya butler had a really bad game with the drop and basically causing the INT.
  11. Love how dominant the starters were but I really am worried how the backups played.
  12. I love Harbs you can see him mouthing "run it run it run it RUN IT"
  13. With how accurate he has been I think they were hoping to avoid having him throw it again.
  14. Maybe the official got something caught in his eye...
  15. Well its a good thing that the number 3 QB is never really relied on for anything.
  16. Butler is not having one of his better games with the drop and then failing to fight for the ball. With a tight battle for WR if he wants to see time he cant afford to keep making mistakes like those.
  17. So a potential concern could be depth on defense. The starters were dominant but any defense needs depth if they are going to win the super bowl and the backups are not playing well.
  18. I remember this defense. The Ravens either force a 3 and out or let you drive to the 20 before just stuffing you. The 2s are playing exactly how the 1s did last year.
  19. I am really liking the Ravens defense so far but I think the real test of if they can be as strong against the run without Ngata will come next week against Philly since they have both a great line and a great RB to test the Ravens.
  20. I guess having to practice against the Ravens defense certainly makes playing against the Saints a lot easier. Its like sparring Mike Tyson before your fight with a high schooler.
  21. Camp stay healthy please and you will be yet another awesome Ravens draft steal.
  22. It hit him the hands and it doesnt look like the DB got a hand on it so Butler has to make that catch.
  23. Suggs should start a weight loss program because I have no idea how he manages to so easily lose weight so quickly.
  24. Whelp I would say the new offense is working out.
  25. They are probably just being cautious and making sure it is 100%. There is no reason to rush someone back during training camp and risk giving them a nagging injury during the season especially as a rookie.
