Apparently there are a lot of folks with medical degrees posting on the Ravens board, and they have it all figured out. Somehow, through the snippets and conjecture they have read they have come to a conclusion that the that they know something that has completely slipped by the intensive background check firms employed by NFL teams (Perriman was scouted by multiple teams as a first rounder), medical history review, the combine physical, the actual physical performed by a physician that is required for any NFL player signing a contract AND the insurance underwriters for the contract. They have concluded that Perriman is damaged goods and a bust and The Ravens dropped the ball in drafting him!!!!!
Get a grip chicken littles. The kid got hurt on the first day of practice. It could have happened in a pre-season game or regular season game as well. It is taking longer to heal than anticipated. I work with injured people every day %u2013 young, old, in shape, and grossly out of shape. Some recover faster and regain functionality quicker than others in all those categories. Sometimes the simple explanation really is the actual reason and all there is. Thankfully this is not a season ender like it was for Jordy Nelson or Kevin White (the receiver taken ahead of Perriman) both of whom crumpled without ever getting touched. The Ravens are likely exercising an abundance of caution thinking of his long term impact rather than the short term desire of an impatient fanbase on talk radio and the internet demanding to see him on the field Now Now Now!!!!! The Ravens do not owe anyone any information about the severity of his injury %u2013 until they are forced by NFL Rules to disclose it. Full stop. I%u2019d rather that they be purposefully cautious about the information they give.
