I think we had a pretty good draft considering we only had seven picks this year. We got a nice infusion of youth to go with our vets, now is the time to maximize the second and third year players.

Should have picked up Michael Floyd when he was available, now the Patriots got him. Stop dragging your feet when good veterans are available for cheap.

what's up with the play calling? The defense cannot keep going in the hole early in games and allowing 100 yards rushing. We have to get better because the second half of our schedule is brutal. The DC needs to be more aggressive with the rising young studs up front in the making.

I must say that I am excited about the up coming training camp and this year's draft class. I was a little disappointed at first, but after calming down I see the method to the madness of the player's that were picked.

After cooling down a bit, I am going to reserve judgment until training camp. The more I view film on our picks the less critical I am of these picks. I still say they got burnt by not picking Spence though.

So. you love the draft and in 3 years, if all goes well, you can tell everyone how you loved the draft, in spite of many others questioning it ... and if in 3 years the draft fails, you can tell everyone how this draft was ruined because our picks were driven by Harbs forcing the FO in selecting subservient players. Sounds like a rigged deck to me. I agree, we don't pick alpha males no more.

I'm of the opinion that Steve should be respected for maintaining a consistent contender while also trying to assemble a team of quality people. I think this was a priority prior to the RR thing, and it has became THE priority since. As mentioned before, in the end it's his money and he can spend it the way he likes. I don't care what spin Oz and the gang put on the draft, they got to pick happy and let Spence and jack slip through their hands. Some times you can out think yourself and they messed that one up being greedy. Stop being scared of these players and make Harb's coach those guys. You need some vocal players on the team and the coach should not be scare of the players opinion.

We've had 3 consecutive years of secondaries that have gotten shredded, years by the way in which, on aggregate, we have a losing record. In those years we've had no serious 2nd starting calibre CB and have stuck an undersized coverted safety with 2 torn acls as our 2nd corner in Webby. I wouldn't consider this "nailing everything so far." We haven't drafted this high in over a decade and what's the first inkling? Draft a LT and trade back twice to stockpile mediocre players. ( personal attack removed) qWhen I said nailing everything, I was talking about the draft so far. Not the IR lists of the past two years. But since you want to bring that up, the reason we've had problems with our secondary for the past two years is because almost the entire secondary has been out injured during that time. We've been sourcing DBs from local high school JV squads the past couple years, just so we could have enough warm bodies on the field to avoid a forfeit. I'm as irritated by the injuries as anyone, and I want the organization to get to the bottom of it. But what do you propose? We already have 7 CBs on the roster, and I believe 5 safeties. You want us to use early picks to draft even more!?! I realize that your knowledge of football is on par with your expertise in rocket sciences so let me clue you in....there's a maximum limit of 53 roster spots. We can't use 25 of them on DBs. Between Smith, Webb, and Weddle, and an assortment of decent B-list players, we're actually pretty well off in that department. We just have to keep them healthy. Our biggest weakness the past couple years has been the offensive line. Even two years ago, when we had 10th stringers plugged in as starters, we STILL did a pretty good job of shutting down even the Patriots in the playoffs. Or don't you remember that they had to pull out trick play after trick play in order to win that game? If we're going to have a $22 million QB, then we HAVE to have a line that can protect him. And since we couldn't afford to keep KO, getting Stanley was really the only acceptable option. not speaking for him but my interpretation is we have never had a problem drafting linemen in the later rounds certain position the FO really draft well I agree the FO could have gone a different direction all of our pics being good but none standing out, our players drafted was safe angelic choices if you want a team to get over the hump then you need certain players with certain traits I agree with the gentleman, for me I do not like the picks but only because of the character traits, killer instincts is desperately needed here we have no killer instincts on this team I agree we need players with that killer/junk yard dog instinct.

So far I am not feeling this draft at all, but I will reserved judgement until training camp.

What are we doing? We just let a good pass rusher get away from us for draft picks. How are we going to build a good defense if continuous let talent get by us. We traded back twice. Really!

Hey Oz we need to resign Courtney Upshaw before we lose him to the Patriots or another team. We cannot keep losing our good seasoned players year after year and maintain a playoff type team.

The Ravens tried focusing on defense without a good qb, and we went 7 years without winning a playoff game. That was with Ed Reed and Ray Lewis in their primes. With Flacco, we have been SB contenders 6 of 8 years and won more playoff games than anyone. The last time he had a reasonably healthy offense around him, he was once again the best qb in the playoffs, and he put us in a position to knock off the SB champs. The reason for our recent struggles has been the flukish amount of injuries, not Flacco. I agree.

Sometimes you got to just retire for the health reasons and walk away from something you love.
