  1. Id love to keep Wallace and sign Torrey but I don't think its realistic for two reasons: 1. The cap savings will be to tempting to let Wallace go if we are able to sign Torrey 2. While Torrey hasn't had a good run in San Fran I think he is still worth more than the Ravens might be willing to pay, especially with desperate teams out there in need of speed.
  2. this kind of reactive thinking is what kills a team. Don't you think the Patriots fans were saying the same thing when the drafted Jimmy G in the second round? The Ravens need to be pro active and draft with a eye on the future. The Pats drafted Jimmy G in the back of the second round (pick 62) and now are going to get a first rounder in return from some poor desperate team. On top of all that are you really comfortable putting the weight of the season on Flacco who turns 33 this year, plays behind a less than ideal line , and has had major knee surgery ? I don't want to repeat 2015 watching Schaub and Clausen waste a season
  3. You just proved my point with your own silly argument. With sub standard players at certain positions we were a divisional round team because you can scheme around weakness. You can't scheme around a bad Qb. You complain about 2014?? Take a look at 2015.... we need an insurance policy more
  4. Reynolds was a publicity signing , unless the Ravens move towards the option offense things will get ugly. Amazing kid and I enjoyed watching him play at Navy but he is a below average passer.
  5. Brad Kaaya -2nd Round Look what the Patriots did with Jimmy G ... the Ravens need to follow suit as Flacco is no spring chicken. Why not start grooming a guy now? Don't talk to me about other needs, without a reliable backup your season is over when the starter goes down. I'd rather not wait until round 7 to draft ball state college of technology keith Wenning
  6. Considering an NFL player is arrested on average every 7 days your team won't be very good if you refuse to sign anyone who has not only been arrested/charged but also someone with allegations whether true or false. I never said the team has to 100% or 0% percent. The ravens on the other hand are pretending to be 100% , and my original post was pointing out their hypocrisy in the past with arrest and what I believe would be continued hypocrisy had they contained the second video of rice that they knew about originally and the public did not. Basically I think the organization is full of it and all this "not signing because of domestic violence" or whatever issue is all them merely trying to back track because they got caught. But at the end of the day it hurts the team when you immediately say no to a player or prospect because your still busy trying to fix your imagine and reputation.
  7. If the Ravens can get over their domestic violence hypocrisy
  8. Nope. We always find scapegoat for Joe. Coordinator , coaching, WRs, line ...etc. Cameron was a solid football mind with players failing to execute.
  9. 1.Try using that logic with some of the family members who lost loved ones to a drunk driver. " Well this guys ok because he didn't actually kill anyone that time". I cant argue on the legal process because its just plain idiotic. I myself involved with the Marine Corps for some time advocated for the harshest punishment possible every time an incident occured. For whatever reason our society has adopted the "boys will be boys" mentality on the issue. I agree it is much more damning to be involved in a domestic abuse situation than DUI/DWI and that is complete nonsense. One continuously claims lives by the thousands annually while the other still terrible is simply not on that level. 2.Either you are missing my point or purposefully ignoring it. I understand players are treated differently, but the Ravens are the ultimate hypocrites for taking a harsh stance simply because they screwed up with the Ray Rice fiasco. You and I both know if they had stopped the release of the second video (like they were attempting to do ) he still would have been on the team. He would have been no different then all the other legal cases they allowed to stay on the team.
  10. Yes, Domestic Violence is actually worse than all of those things. I assumed that was common sense no? I would also point out, obviously, that most of the players you listed were already on the Ravens (or off the Ravens) by the time those transgressions took place. Our stance is not to bring in players who have a history of DV in their background. That's not to say that we wouldn't draft or sign somebody who eventually turns into a wife beater, because we would have no possible way of knowing that (see Rice, Ray). You're confusing the two things. They're not the same. I will try to help you understand. So lets use reason and logic. For instance the same year Ray Rice was arrested for aggravated assault, on his soon to be wife, 9,865 people were killed in traffic accidents involving alcohol alone. Roughly 40% of all US traffic deaths that year. From 2001-2012 and estimated 11,800(nearly 11,000 of those deaths were women) people were killed involving domestic abuse. Please don't be a sheep , facts> popular ideas ""I would also point out, obviously, that most of the players you listed were already on the Ravens (or off the Ravens) by the time those transgressions took place."" Exactly hence the hypocrisy , they kept almost every single player I listed that still had star potential in them. Just like they tried to keep Ray Rice, until the couldn't stop the second video from coming out......
  11. Is Ryan doing a weekly satire piece now?
  12. The ravens have become the ultimate hypocrites with staying away from players because of legal issues. Apparently Domestic violence is worse than DUI(McCalister, BJ sams, McNair, , obstruction of justice in a murder trial(lewis), cocaine with an intent to distribute(Jamal lewis), Felony assault(suggs), refusing to allow medical attention to a female and not cooperating with police( J smith). This organization and the NFL as a whole is littered with guys who are constantly putting themselves in stupid situations because of their egos , upbringing , and intelligence levels. If the Ravens want to be politically correct and win the hearts and minds of the people they will never win another championship.
  13. I'd take Charles on a little more than a Vet Minimum prove it deal. The others simply aren't worth it
  14. Continued Focus on player safety will not speed up a game , in fact just the opposite. Egregious and BS calls due to player safety concerns are drawing flags and 15 yards at every turn slowing the game down. We are forcing the officials to make every call at real time regardless wether they are right or wrong because no body wants to be the official getting ragged on ESPN that didn't make that personal foul call.(remember Suggs and Tom Brady's knee, how about cam Newton every time he runs) If its borderline they call it and its ruining the game. The players know the risk and get paid an awful lot to compensate. There are far more dangerous, important, and lightly compensated jobs in the world like the ones who fight for our country,EMT, police etc ... so give it a rest
  15. It ALL depends on the QBs. I don't think teams are brave enough to wait until the second round like they should to get guys like Deshaun Watson, Mitch Trubisky, or even Patrick Mahomes. Four offseason moves that will have a big influence on this draft are 1. the Skins getting a deal done with Cousins 2. Do the Pats trade or keep Garrapolo(SP?) 3. Bills bringing back Tyrod 4. Jay Cutlers release In a perfect world the Skins sign or franchise Cousins, the Pats Keep Jimmy G, the Bills let Taylor go, and Cutler signs with a team as a back up. In turn it forces the Browns, 49ers, bears, jets, and Bills to select a QB. Otherwise they are throwing a season away rolling the dice with guys like Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Hoyer, Blaine Gabbert, Ryan Mallett, EJ Manuel, Matt Schaub etc etc . There is no way the Jets or 49ers will pass on a QB unless they get Jimmy G, so atleast two Qbs will go in the top 6. Assuming the Browns take Garrett with their first pick and select a QB with their 12th pick, theres likely to be 4 qbs gone already so things could get interesting for the Ravens with the talent available.
  16. Agreed, this is such a tough draft to figure out for two reasons. 1. The ravens have 7 legitimate ways to go with this pick: RB,CB,OL,DL,S,WR,LB 2. Each of the above positions has a quality player that could fall to the ravens RB: Dalvin Cook, Christian McCafferrey CB: Sidney Jones (wash),Marlon, Humphrey(bama) OL: Cam Robinson(bama), Forrest Lamp(WKU) DL: Solomon Thomas(stan), Jonathan Allen(bama) S: Jamal adams(LSU), Jabrill peppers (mich) WR: Corey Davis(WMU), John Ross(wash) LB; Reuben Foster(bama), Haason Reddick(temple) Seriously there isn't a player listed above I wouldn't be thrilled with if the ravens selected at 16. You know there will be a run at QBs, there always is which just pushes these guys further down the board. Depending on how it plays out 49ers, browns, jets, bears will all be selecting Qb out of desperation. You could also throw in the Bills if things go south with Tyrod. My hope for the pick: Jamal Adams (LSU) , Who better to learn the position from then Weddle. They will make a great duo.
  17. There is exactly 0% chance this will happen. It's not even worth speculating. I disagree , the Skins could be in series desperation mode and their only options will be to franchise Cousins which they clearly don't want to do or find someone in trade or the open market. Don't forget the skins are an organization dumb enough to let a 5000 yard passer go over a few million dollars. I don't want Cousins in return id rather start fresh with a rookie on a rookie contract. Would be interesting if it happened, unlikely of course but something fun to think about. I just don't think Joe Flacco is ever going to be the answer again. Imagine what kind of team we could build if we find a quality QB and they are on a rookie contract. Of course thats easier said then done
  18. Curious if we could make something work with the Skins as far as trading Flacco if their arrangement(or lack there of ) with Cousins falls through. Joe's contract is beyond absurd, cant wait until we are no longer held hostage by it and captain back foot lob pass.
  19. joe jus need's to stop throwing the ball for us...Trade him or cut him(if we can find a trade victim)is the only was we're going to be successful......and take harby with you please............need to get fresh for the future...this duo is Toast! a possible trade with the skins if cousins falls through ???
  20. Am I the only one ok with letting Jusczcyk go unless he resigns on an extremely team friendly deal? I love his athleticism but I'm still not sold on his lead blocking abilities.
  21. Corner has to be the top pick right ? or do we have decent corners that got exposed because our pass rush was so terrible? So pass rush is the round 1 pick right ? Decisions Decisions
  22. Love to bring Aiken back at a fair price. I feel good about Wallace, Perrimen, Aiken, and Moore in that order
  23. 1. Cap hit and what he's actually get paid are two different things. 2. Joe's locked in as the starter through at least 2018. No point in discussing it until then, because his contract dictates that much. He holds 100% of the leverage until 2019. That being said, compensation really has nothing to do with how you perform at the position in a given year. Actually pretty rare on an annual basis for the highest paid person to be the best at that position. With everybody knowing that he needs to play better (himself included), I'm also not sure why anybody would think a change would happen. You could argue either side of the "he hasn't lived up to his contract" argument ever since 2013, and yet he's been the starter out there every year since. And for the next two years, barring injury, that's exactly what will happen, pretty much regardless of where he "ranks" among QBs. I know the two are different hence why I added both instead of lumping into one $ amount although the two numbers are almost the same(scary). Money does not lock Joe into the starting spot, this is the NFL where losses and fan pressure will cause desperation even with the most lucrative contracts.(Texans 2016, Broncos 2015) Joe could easily be let go if he continues his down hill trend its just depends on the team thinks it is worth a 20+ mil in dead money (year depending).
  24. The fact that 21 other safeties are getting paid more than Weddle is amazing, absolute steal for the birds...... until you see one of those safeties is Webb haha. #1stepforward3stepsbackwards
  25. Joe's salary and cap hit is an embarrassment. The second highest paid QB in the NFL....... A slightly above average starter that can be solid when given a lot of help. Yet he gets paid like the best at the position. Can you imagine what will happen if he doesn't come out and produce this season like a top 5 QB should......Could make for a very interesting offseason next year. We don't need Joe to restructure and push the money down the road, we need him to straight up take a pay cut in an effort to better that team.
