  1. Anyone who isn't excited about Bowser is going to be pleasantly surprised.

Last season he had 47 tackles, 12 TFL, 8.5 sacks, 1 FF. He missed five games though. Averaging/crunching those numbers if he had played in those last five games he would have finished the season with 77 tackles, 19.5 TFL, 14 sacks...give or take.

That is unreal production and it's not like Houston had a bunch of cupcakes on their schedule. They played some legit schools so he went up against legit lineman.

He has game ready size, long arms, elite athleticism, quick twitch fiber, instincts, etc, etc. He tested extremely well at the combine. This will be a player.

  2. Barnett was never going to wow the scouts with his combine numbers, but the tape and collegiate career production doesn't lie. He is a gamer and his motor does not shut off. Honestly, he is very much in the Suggs mold. Their combine numbers and size measurables are eerily similar. So was their collegiate production.

Obviously Suggs had a season for the ages in '02, but you have to take into consideration he was facing P12 tackles and in a very blitz, rush happy ASU defense. Put Barnett on the Sun Devils and his numbers go up. His numbers against SEC OLmen are impressive in themselves. I think Barnett has the make-up to be a stud. Please let him slide to us at 16.

As much as I love Corey Davis and Reuben Foster, I'd have a hard time passing on Barnett. Those are my three top wants(realistic wants) and I'd be happy with either one of them, but we need Suggs replacement and I'm just not sure we currently have that guy on the roster.

A smokescreen on Minks part? Who is he smoke screening... fans? Decosta isn't going to show his hand to Mink. We aren't going to take him at 16. It would be interesting if he was there in the second but, I dont think he will make it. Jaylon Smith got picked with in the first few picks in the second round last year and there was no guarantee that he would even be able to play again. I havent really followed up on that guy but it will be interesting to see if hes going to be ready to go. Luckily, Jones doesn't have to worry about nerve damage with his injury. I guess the other (unlikely) scenario is that we trade back to the end of the first or the beginning of the second, take Jones, and pick up some other picks.

You never know how it will play out with guys coming of injuries. Ifo Ekpre-Olomo was a 1st rd lock at one point and ended up dropping to the last round. Forgive my ignorance, but is an achilles injury considered a tough one to come back from or do people ususlly come back as strong? I'm sure there are some doctors on the board.

  4. Let's take a guy who likes to carry weed and guns around with him...in college. Sounds logical. A guy with a gun cruising around Baltimore sounds like a great plan. There is no denying his talent and he would be an excellent fit on the right bookend, but I think he is too risky of a pick at 16.

In today's pass happy game an 84 QB rating is below average. Flacco has been a below average Regular season QB with stacked talent around him. He somehow always plays his best ball in January.

I still believe that we don't have the right offensive system for Flacco. It all started with the SB run where we somehow thought he would turn into Tom Brady because he had some stupid numbers in the 2012 postseason. We need a run heavy attack. Kubiak was awesome. We need someone like Kubiak or Shanahan to run our offense. Problem is, these guys get HC gigs fast.

You lost me at "stacked talent." Joe has never had a true #1 receiver who could just take a game over. SSS, Q, etc, etc were all serviceable, but their best years were behind them regardless of the stats they put up at Baltimore. It's time for the FO to get Joe an OBJ, Jones, Brown, AJG, Megatron type receiver. Joe isn't elite, but he is definitely not a bad QB.

The FO needs to get Joe a real #1 target to go with the pieces already in place and they need to make sure the have a line that can protect him. Joe isn't overly mobile so he doesn't do well when he is pressured. If he has a line that can give him time, a true #1 receiver, a guy who can stretch the field(Perriman) and a solid RB, Joe can carve defenses up.

The defense is almost set. We just need a pass rusher, another corner and another LB. If Ozzie nails this draft, then we can make a post-season run. Ozzie has to hit this draft out of the park.

Are you being serious Frank ? Cmon man this is just not a realistic assessment here. Why in the world would he commit to losing weight? The vast majority of TEs that come into the league need work on their blocking. Corey Davis runs a 4.8 forty. Mike Williams runs a 4.54. OJ runs a 4.51. What would be the purpose behind asking this guy to drop weight. He is just as fast as the top WRs in this years class. And what is the middle 5.

Where did you see that Davis runs a 4.8 40? There are analysts who believe he is a 4.4/4.5 guy.

  7. Davis is the top receiver in this class hands dowm imo. I think he would be a great pick at 16. Joe would finally have a true #1 receiver who isn't past his prime. Isn't about time the FO gives Joe a young, legit target? I know they took BP in the 1st rd a couple of years ago, but anyone with a lick of football knowledge knew BP was a bit of a hit or miss project. He was considered the biggest boom or bust guy to come out in the 1st rd of that draft. I think BP can be a solid #2 guy, but I think he is going to be a one-dimensionsal player during his career. Matching him up with a guy like Davis could be a deadly tandem. They compliment eachother nicely.

Davis can do it all though. He has enough speed to stretch the field, but he also has the skillset to be a nasty possesion receiver who can move the chains; be deadly in the short, intermediate game; highpoint the ball and make tough, contested catches; and also be a mismatch nightmare in the redzone. He can do it all. Put 10 more lbs on him and he could bully opposing teams corners. Perriman was a bit of gamble, but Davis is smart money.

My top wants at 16 are Davis, Foster, Howard or Barnett(no order). I am a little nervous on the latter. Barnett could have a Suggs-like skillset or he could never make any kind of impact at all. I love his college film and his relelentless motor, but I just don't know if he has the elite athleticism and quick twitch to be an elite edge bender in the league. He is technically sound, has a great motor, but he is lacking in some things. We shall see.

Foster really intrigues me. I think there are more glaring needs on the roster than ILB, but he has elite potential. Pairing him up with CJ might be too good to pass up regardless of other pressing needs. I am not worried about his red flags. We need some more nastiness. And Howard has Gronk-esque potential. Howard will be an absolute stud at the next level. Then we would also have the luxury to let go of a few TEs who are just taking up spots on the roster. The draft can't get here soon enough.

  8. I've had the pleasure of watching Juju play live twice and the guy is an absolute beast. He isn't a burner by any stretch, but he is extremely physical, runs great routes(so he gets seperation) and has very soft hands. He catches everything. One of the toughest kids I've seen play. The Q comparison is pretty spot on, but I think Juju might have more raw athleticsim at the same stage. Juju would be a good get in the 2nd imo. He would be a good fit with Perriman and Wallace. While those two can stretch the field, Juju is the guy to move the chains, make tough contested catches, be a mismatch nightmare in the redzone and be a great, reliable target for Joe. Kid has a ton of heart and is built really well. Love him.

Talk about Adrian Peterson coming to the Ravens needs to be prefaced by the fact that we all need to remember what Peterson said after a 2013 game against the Ravens. He referred to Ravens fans "as the worst fans in all of football". Someone who disrespects Ravens fans has no business in purple and black. Not even to mention that the Ravens have no desire for domestic abusers and beating your children and being legally charged and penalized by the NFL is not a player the Ravens should even spit on.

Calling us the "worst fans in football" is a term of endearment.

Charles Harris and Carl Lawson are both edge players.
Almost every mock has Harris going in the first round and Lawson in the second.......here are Lawson's youtube highlights

He honestly looks like a top 10 pick to me. Am I missing something??

Lawson got owned by Cameron Robinson and Jonah Williams. Both are 1st rd caliber tackles though so it makes sense. Lawson in the 2nd wouldn't be a bad pick.

heck just switching them every year is enough to throw things off. Its pretty obvious.
I would suspect that having the same OC for a second year is bound to help. So your opinion of Mornhinweg ( spell) will have to be taken as premature at this point in time.

It really is time we see an improvement in the offense. So we will have to see how it goes. I think Flacco will come back stronger and better which should improve the O all round, WR should get a boost, O line should be better once finalized, TE will be fine, Its the Running Game I am concerned with.

Just add Beastmode and call it a day.

Since we are on the topic of Rookies, The Ravens drafted strong last year and had a great post draft. So the ability to use those players has arrived. Here is a list ofthe last year rookies not to lose sight of: All of them look to be returning for a strong second year-

Ronnie Stanley- so glad Oz listened to me #1..lol, wow what a player. Wowzer

Micheal Pierce DT/NT - last year speaks for itself! All Pro in the making, wow

Tavon Young CB- I think he is as much a starter as anyone on the team. Wow

Matthew Judon OLB- This kid should be the replacement for Doom, big shoes to fill, but man did he shine at times last year,

Alex Lewis G/T- now back on the O line, can play G or T, when teamed up with Yanda or Stanley will shut down one side. Exciting young and on the verge of Pro bowl play.

Chris Moore WR- Wide receivers seem to perform better in their second year, ie Aiken, Periman, Torrey Smith, etc. especially for the Ravens. This kid could be something very special.

Maurice Canady CB- Canady showed sparks of tremendous talent in coverage, when tackling, on special teams and when put in at certain packages he played position well. The speed of the game in the backfield is about as fast as it gets on two legs. Here is a young talent who looks to have the legs.

Kennith Dixon RB- boy I hope this suspension doesn't hurt his development, I believe Ken showed that he was ready for the NFL. I would like to see him in the #2 role behind even a stronger #1 Running back ( no disrespect to West, Unfortunately I just think West is a proven #2). plug- D Murray-

Willie Henry DT- As with Lewis lost early in the season, this guy is a Beast!

Bronson Kaufusi DE- "ditto" I can't wait to see this kid in action! a Beast!

Stephane Nembot OT - Played very well on second squad, shows signs of great potential. It is time needed on the field that will tell the tale.

Matt Skura C- Matt flew under the radar last year, getting his development and NFL level experience on the PS. He could be much more the player that anyone expects.

Correa Kamalei LB- KO, down the list for a reason. Here is a player who got in fights with multiple veterans during camp last year. Who do you think won out in that deal? In my opinion, He had the sad awakening of becoming an NFL "team player" and I would bet you it started in the locker room. Get your head on straight KO, hopefully all leave last year behind them. If he uses the raw talent that everyone saw in the draft, there is huge potential. Its time to become a Pro.

Keenan Reynolds WR/KR- What does this kid have to offer? There has to be something he can do to participate, I am eager to see.

Patrick Onwuasor ILB- didn't see a lot of action, what play time was seen appeared to be solid. The jury is still out if he can become a starter, but there is potential to work with.

I am not sure any team in the NFL will return with this kind of Rookie class (+15), not including a couple additions from the off season. So lets go Sophomores, go get what you came for and give the veterans a run for their money!

Well, it looks as if Ozzie drafted a bunch of All-Pro's last year. That was probably one of the most homerish posts I've ever seen. Lol.

  13. The corner position has been a mash unit for years so let's overpay for an average corner with a history of being injury prone. Seems logical. This is the deepest class of CB's in years so address the corner position in the draft. There should be solid #2 caliber CBs in the top two rds. I wouldn't pay Claibourne more than $4mill a year. If he doesn't take this $5mill offer he is a bonehead.

  14. Williams is a #1 receiver, but he will be gone before we pick l and we know Ozzie won't trade up. I think the kid from Western Michigan is very good as well, but I think getting a corner or a pass rusher is a more  of a glaring need at our pick. Williams is the only must take kind of guy if he were to somehow be available at our pick(which he won't be.) John Ross is a big time college playmaker. I don't see him having close to the kind of production he had at in college at the next level.

I have seen Kupp play in person twice and the kid can play. He would be a good get in the 2nd rd and a great get in rd3 imo. I have seen Juju play twice in person as well and I love his game. Tough kid, runs good routes and has soft hands. He isn't a burner, but he'd be a good get to go along with Perriman and Wallace. I'd be excited about Kupp or Juju in rd2/rd3.

The Chiefs have all the fun with a guy the likes of Tyreek Hill with all the sea of character concerns - and I don't see the public image of the Chiefs fall a notch - and we're still at the "don't expext the Ravens to draft this or that guy because he did something wrong ONCE." Maybe that's part of the explanation why we have become a regular feature of the "look who's missed the playoff" game while teams like the Chiefs are in...

As for Mixon, there were multiple reports that he's well liked by staff members, players, coaches - and basically everybody, and did what he did ONCE. That doesn't make it OK of course - but I do think the public image ramifications of selecting players with such cases have been way overblown in Baltimore. I can understand that the Rice case caused some shellshock - but it would be high time to leave it behind... You won't win many games in the NFL with a team of gentlemen.

Mixon has had red flags since high school. Oregon started to recruit him, but backed off because of several reports of glaring character concerns. He wanted to be a Duck badly, but the staff ended up wanting nothing to do with him. I agree that people deserve second chances, but the incident at Oklahoma wasn't his first incident and it probably won't be the last. I hope the Ravens don't even peep in his direction. Sounds like a headache.
