  1. 2 weeks straight and Walter football has us taking a'shawn Robinson...

They have been pretty spot on with our picks recently... If we take Robinson with this rare high pick, I just might need to root for another team until heads Start rolling courtesy of Mr. Bisciotti

spot on? I honestly never.liked walter football. I feel their mocks are ridiculous and big boards too. They have a third round grade on alexander lol

  2. Welcome to my idea. Not trying to sound condescending here, only remarking on how much I agree, lol. I think we should go for the offense here. Put the foot to the metal and let it ride. Say "if you want to call penalties on our defense for everything, OK, we will play ball" and go for the diesel engine, high-powered passing attack. I'd be thrilled with a draft if we took Treadwell, Elliott, Ngakoue, & Dahl (1-4th picks). Re-sign KO & put him at LT, cut Monroe or keep him & have Dahl as the back-up LT & cut Monroe next year if you want, etc.

It is a great idea considering how often our offense failed to pull through early in the season when we could have put the game away. Unless we sign a receivers in free agency but i dont see ozzie spending money on receivers so this might be his best chance to have as dynamic offense. Not sure id want another rb though. I understand how good Elliott is but either way he might go in the first anyways. I saw grab kendall fuller in the second round. Hes a guy who could help out a lot. True baller from bmore area would help force some turnovers and bring a little youth to the secondary. Regardless of what we do i feel its necessary to add a corner early

  3. This is exactly who I see when I watch him play.

would work for trestman really well. Have breshad and treadwell outside and have steve as our #3 so he can stay fresh throughout the season aiken would provide solid depth. Then have gillmore and an improved maxx williams that would be a leathal passing attack

  4. Been watching a lot of treadwell and noticed something i didn't know. This kid has incredible balance and body control either when running the ball or going up for a ball. Is as physical a receiver as ive seen in a while and is a phenomenal blocker when he wants to be. Kinda reminds. Me of alshon Jeffrey. I still notice him take plays off constantly and at times looks like he doesnt even try to block the guy in front of him. It may not be as worrysome as it seems but definitely something to take note. Im sure harbaugh could keep his motor consistent. Kinda the same issue jernigan has

  5. Im surprised you put ramsey at 5 ahead of treadwell, thought you werent big on him. Especially since this is a ravens big board and you said we dont need a player like him. If your big board is true. Which it is believable. Then we would pick ramsey and odds are he would play corner

  6. and your opinion is exactly why gms loose there jobs he isn't a cb in the nfl he is just a ss yeah hes big but his backpedaling is subpar but yeah I guess time will show you your wrong

i was just going off what his coaches and teammates said about him because i thought he was better off at safety as well. I mean he was recruited as a corner too not even an athlete so his true position will always be a question mark until he plays

  7. Finally got around to watching more game tape on the top DB's. (VH3, Ramsey Alexander)

    Thoughts:

    - VH3 struggled against the good WR's he faced which concerned me, had a lot more bad tape then I anticipated. Flashes of brilliance and super impressive athleticism but he got beat 1 on 1 the most out of all 3 of them. I see a lot of potential, I think he can mature some more physically and has the technical ability to be a really special player if he get's with the right coach and is groomed well. Definitely more of a project than a lot of people seem to perceive him as, the ability is certainly there but the issues against better WR's definitely worries me. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Alexander goes ahead of him, more on that later.

    - Ramsey has some bad tape as well but when he's on, he's ON. There are some super impressive plays he makes that make you say "wow". Over aggressive at times and has some brain fart moments but damn can this kid play ball. When you look at the total package of size, speed, strength, and athleticism he's the most impressive of the bunch, definitely Patrick Peterson-esque in that regard. He can just flat out do things the other 2 can't do. The one hang up for me is where do you play him. He's a better corner than people seem to realize but definitely best utilized at FS. I don't buy the recycled line of "Doesn't have the range yada yada" when you put the time in and watch the game tape you can definitely envision him being a killer FS. I could also see him being used like Tyrann Mathieu, he's so good around the LOS that you don't want him to just be a traditional FS.

    - Mackensie Alexander I was super impressed with, I think he's the best pure CB in the draft now. Very disciplined and rarely get's caught out of position. After watching the tape I really don't know how so many people think Hargreaves is better. Played very well against high level competition. QB's rarely even throw the ball his way and that perhaps is the sign of a true shutdown corner. Just so smooth in coverage, fluid hips, good back pedal, it's hard to find stuff to nit pick about his coverage in all honesty. Maybe not the athlete and all around specimen Ramsey is but he makes up for it with superior technique. If there's a an area of concern it's his physicality/tackling, the weakest of the 3 in that department. Whiffs on some tackles he should make, is easily blocked and taken out of plays... but considering he's a cover corner it's far from a deal breaker.

    Conclusion:

    - Alexander is the best pure corner

    - Hard to say who is the better prospect between Alexander and Ramsey because Ramsey is so versatile and so gifted physically/athletically.

    - VH3 may not be as impressive as the other 2 on tape but I still see what the hype is about, to me he's a bit of a project as far as top 5 players go but definitely has a high ceiling.

totally agree with the above, the tape certainly shows how good they are and i feel not enpugh people on here watch enough of the tape to state the kind of opinions they have on these guys. But ya alexander is the best of the 3 in my eyes. Read articles about him, his freshman year he stayed back to study film for the bowl game while his teammates went to dysney lol. He even has notes on his own teammates to better prepare himself for his professional career and seems very dedicated to his craft and is a hard worker who pays attention to detail. Listen to any interviews he has with reporters on YouTube and youl see just hope mature and confident this kid really is

  8. Ramsey is going to be a corner in the nfl. Terence brooks said thats his best position and so did hus coach. He is a very interesting prospect as he has all the athletic tools and speed, he can get off blocks to help in run support and could be the best press corner to come out in a long time. Blitzes like a bull as well. He is a bit raw with his footwork but he has the hips and athletic traits that can be coached up at the next level. Hes a natural athlete so i dont see too much to worry about any ability this kid has. He can do everything well but for now it looks like hes better off playing corner and thats comming from the people who best know him

  9. alexander has the same problem, he rarely turns his head to play the ball in the rare event that he is targeted, as good as he is in coverage, for all we know he could give up a completion every time his man gets a on-target throw, not saying its likely, but im saying that the complaint you have about fuller is a big complaint for the same guy you are clamoring for.

i like alexander, but i cant get on board with a db 6th overall, i just cant do it. its true any prospect can bust but the nature of the position is very unpredictable for db's transitioning to the NFL, the same can be said for wr's but its much easier to say a guy like treadwell can put up 800 yards and 6td's as a rookie than to say alexander wont get burned for 20 first downs and 5 td's, that risk factor is there and it is very real. give me the safest option, especially this year, we just cant afford to bust on our first high pick in forever, if we were picking top 10 every year? sure get a guy whos got a 50% chance to set the world on fire in a few years, but we dont have that luxury right now

ya its hard to say with the sample size we have with alexander, theres not much we know about it if he does or doesnt turn hus head because it seems he never gets the opportunity to show it. I only said it about fuller because its happened to him several times and theres tape to prove it. I could see fuller drop to the third round for us and that would be awesome. Too soon to tell though. It seems to me that if a highly rated player like bosa or tusil dont fall to us i could see us trade back a couple spots and still land either treadwell or alexander which i feel could be best case cenario for us. It might become our more popular move in mocks

Is there any indication if fuller will be able to participate in the combine or pro day?

  10. I feel as if everyone jumped on treadwells bandwagon after his bowl game. I jumped on him too but i reminded myself what i though of him before. He seems to take plays off at times when the balls not going his way. I think he is an exceptional run blocker when he WANTS to be. His route running is still sluggish to me and like every receiver comming out of college seems raw as any other prospect with the same question

  11. if the receiver class is weak and the corner class is strong wouldn't it make more sense to get the top receiver and then get a corner later since the class is so deep? That just seems like the smarter play to me. Plus you can't forget about shareece Wright and will davis. Wright really started to come along near the end of the season and will davis looked like he may have been the answer too. I'm not saying we shouldn't take a cb...Plus Arrington probably needs to be released..but I think we would be much better off going another direction in the first.

well not necessarily because of the point i was trying to make. If it were a strong receiver class treadwell might not be in the top 10 which in my eyes makes that pick less valuable. Rather than picking from 3 guys who are in a crowded class and all in the top 10. If there were only 1 of the 3 guys being drafted his value would be increased and then anyone of thise guys would end up being viewed as a top 5 pick. If treadwell would have entered last year with a class like cooper, white, and parker it would be hard to say hes a top 10 pick. He didnt have the athletic ability those guys had which would have dropped him but this year is so weak he seems to be the only receiver to take in the first round. You see were im comming from?

  12. still known to be a very raw prospect, and as much as i really like alexander, i think dbs in general are extremely risky for 6th overall, i think theyre harder to predict how they will perform in the NFL than any other position, and treadwell on the other hand looks like a rock solid safe prospect and looks like a guy that, no matter his ceiling, is going to produce at a good level and will help your team VERY much from day 1, i cant say i feel the same security from the top dbs here, not enough to take them at 6. id much rather roll the dice on kendall fuller/tredavious white/eli apple being there in the 2nd and just going BPA if they are taken, i actually think fuller and apple both look like safer prospects than any of the top 3 dbs, even if they have a lower ceiling.

ive watched more tape on fuller and noticed he doesnt always turn his head which leads to PIs instead of picks. I just feel we will end up regretting passing on alexander, i dont feel worried about him busting because hes so dedicated to working hard to make himself better. He has all the tools and attitude you look for in a corner. I know where your comming from with the safe pick idea but any prospect can bust and sometimes the players who look like the safer picks end up busting or just become average at best

  13. Well i feel webb going to fs is going to help a lot. Sometimes picks arent made by one guy. Its going to take a team to fix it, but i feel if he pans out well at free safety and have alexander, smith, webb and will hill. We would have a solid group of guys. All they need to do is put themselves in the right position and make the play.

Another note is ive been watching more tape on kendall fuller and ive noticed hes had trouble turning his head to find the ball when its in the air and he ends up getting called for a lot of PI because of it. If he would just turn his head he could have had plenty more picks throughout his college career even if it was cut short. Im starting to think this kid could fall to the third round for us

    0

  14. Our top need is still the corner position. Webb is moved to free safety and has accepted that so now we need another guy to work with smith. I would rather get the best corner on the board in a strong class like alexander than the best wide receiver in a weak class in treadwell. Im not saying treadwell is a bad prospect i just feel that if he were in last years draft he might only be the 3rd best receiver commimg out and would be picked outside the top 10. Ive heard a lot of talk on this thread about how alexander fails to tackle and get off blocks and tgere was evidence of that in fsu tape, however i saw him fail to tackle dalvin cook in open space which is hard for anyone and the only time i saw him have trouble getting off blocks was against tackles and tight ends. Besides in that game he allowed only 2 receptions with no tds on 7 targets (one was pass interference which was a bad call in my eyes). He stayed step for step in that game against one of the fastest players in the country in kermit Whitefield. This kid is such a competitor that during his rs freshman season before their bowl game vs Oklahoma he stayed behind as his teammates went to dysney so he could study film on Oklahoma. He already has notes on his own teammates receivers to better prepare himself for his professional career. He loves football and takes it seriously. I hear talk of people prefering vh3 over him because hes a better tackler. Lol watch the Tennessee tape. He might be even worse

  15. I've created a monster! I love that my boy is finally not being underrated anymore. I think he will be the unquestioned best cb in the league before his rookie deal is up. I'm not gonna call it 100% and he does give reason for pause, but that is what I think hes very capable of

agreed. Im on board. Ive been big on this kid for a while now

  16. I'd put stanley, treadwell, and buckner, in that order starting at 3, then The rest is solod

ya i could have put stanley at 3 and wouldnt have had much of a problem with it. Its just so hard to tell this earlu on. Theres not much seperating the top 10 players after the top 2

  17. This is a ravens message board so im doing a ravens style big board so any players with red flags in which we would avoid or any qbs will most likely be avoided.

First off we need to take a look at the off-season and free agency where a lot could happen, theres a lot of big name free agents who we could sign like alshon and maybe a few pass rushers we could go after that would make the draft more clear to predict. Theres also the chance of resignig KO and possibly make him our LT which i think would be a great move even if we do spend big money on him, i feel he is proven and athletic enough to be a solid tackle, id almost consider it a steal. We dont know anything yet so big board still will be based on senarios that could occur before the draft. Now the big board....

    1. Laremy tunsil- Probably the most complete player in the draft and best at his position by far (in my eyes). The ravens always tend to place left tackles high on their big board and we would be foolish not to pick him at 6 especially with our problem at left tackle (unless we resign KO and make him our future LT which isnt a bad idea as i said before)

2.Joey Bosa- Best defensive player in the draft and is a game changer. He would make offenses have to gameplan around him, something we missed this year without suggs. Hard not to pass him up for anyone else.

3.Mackensie alexander- here is were i feel there is a major dropoff on how to separate players, so many players could be ranked here and i would have put nkemdiche but he screwed up his chances with us so ill go with my favorite and maybe the one who has shown the greatest body of work. Although he has no picks. Nobody ever challenges him and he has allowed around 30% of passes completed his way and only 2 tds through a 2 year career as a red shirt freshman and sophmore. He sticks to his man like glue and has a get in your face attitude, hes a fiery competitor and shows up when he proclaims to be the best. Hes confident not cocky and seems mature for his age. He puts in the work and to me thats what makes him a raven type player

4.laquon treadwell- if we dont sign another receiver in free agency i would strongly consider this kid at 6. He reminds me of aj green or alshon Jeffrey and would give flacco that trusted go to receiver. We have too many question marks at receiver and i understand we still have breshad but he was still unproven comming out of college and i dont think ozzie likes trying the same thing twice which would be trusing in aiken, sss, and breshad again. Treadwell has proven he can come back from an injury and although he may be a bit raw(which i dont think matters with receivers anymore as all the young ones are still raw but great) he brings things to the table that we would covet. 1. Hes a good run blocker 2. Hes a hard runner with tha ball. 3. He wins one-on-one match ups

5.Jalen ramsey- hes been the most talked aboit prospect and the most difficult one to figure out. A boom or bust guy. Nobody know what he does well or doesnt. I believe he is a gifted athlete who can play ball, no matter where you put him he will do well because hes a natural athlete, a freak if you will. He will amaze at the combine and his stock will rise back to the top5. I really dont think hes a bad player at all i feel he is very raw and tackles way too much with his arms but hes the kind of player who can be molded into whatever you want him to be because he has no physical limitations, i hear people question whether or not he has range and i feel he could if he were coached properly (maybe ed reed lol). We will need our first round pick to be able to contribute and i think he would. Hes so versatile that dean pees(yes hes comming back) would be able to line him up anywhere at any time and he really could be our x-factor or playmaker we so desperately desire on defense. I will say with him and alexander though that i dont see either fixing our turnover problem on defense so i could see us grab alexander and vonn bell or ramsey and king. King and bell could help force some but then again one guy wont fix the problem.

6-Ronnie Stanley- the best pass blocker in the draft. He has great feet and is quick with his hands to get the defender off of him, extremely smooth athlete and could develop into a future all pro. BUT!!! He has to get stronger. He fails at times in run blocking and gets bull rushed too often. He got man handled by shaq lawson. I believe he can and will and i wouldn't be surprised if he does only question like ramsey is do we have time to wait for him. Difference is that i dont think he will be ready to assume an NFL LT position yet. He wouldnt be a factor as much as ramsey can and we need that if we want to contend year 1. Still it would be a great pick for the future.

7-VH3-ive really softened on him as he has struggled lately. Hes not a great athlete and seems to get outjumped too often and not only by bigger guys. I recently watched his Tennessee tape from this year and he missed 3 aweful tackles, one in which he dove for a guys legs with his head down. Ive noticed he tries to go for the highlights play rather than making the smart play. Im not sure i want another kid from Florida who was so hyped up, ehem matt elam... A lot of hype but id rather alexander anyday besides i feel the jags are gonna pick him at 5 and thats fine with me.

8,9,10 its too tough to call, im thinking buckner, shaq lawson, ogbah, maybe floyd. Buckner is probably the better but its hard to tell here. You guys figure it out lol let me know what you guys think. Heres a quick top of my head mock too lol.

    1. Mackensie alexander or treadwell depends what we do in free agency

    2. Vonn bell, i could see floyd fall here too. Or shaq lawson. Feel we could get really lucky with a falling prospect. Popular pick is doctson

    3. Yannick ngakoue

    4. Le'raven clark

    4. Braxton miller

    5. Cyrus jones alabama

    5. Ryan kelly alabama center

What does you big board look like?

    0

  18. i dont know how much of a no brainer ramsey is... i really do not like him at all, he plays so wildly undisciplined i just cant envision him working out on a harbaugh coached team. i think he is going to fail MISERABLY unless his team puts him in a specific position to do just about the only thing hes good at, and thats disrupt things close to the line of scrimmage.

and alexander wont be there in the 2nd, bank on that, he'll be either the 2nd or 3rd cb off the board, if he tests well enough at the combine he very well could be the top cb

his combine is going to really impress i believe the kid can fly. He probably ends up being a top 15 even maybe top 10 pick
    0

  19. Tyler Boyd, 6'2" 185, Pitt., most polished in the class, stellar routes, smooth and fluid, great hands, pro ready. he already had a DUI arrest and scouts have been souring on him due to a lack of eye popping speed and explosion, still is the best wr in the class according to many.

Josh Doctson, 6'4" 190, TCU. wingspan prospect, big guy, respectable speed for his size but not a burner, great hands, decent routes for his size, highest ceiling in the class. a relatively serious injury will cause his stock to take a hit, how big of a hit remains to be seen, he was widely seen as a mid-late first, but if the injuries to nearly all of the first round wr's from 2015 scare off some teams, then he can be had by us in the 2nd.

Corey Coleman, 5'10" 190, Baylor. runs wild in a route limited spread, short and stocky, plays like hes 6'2", dependable hands, scrappy and feisty, good speed, has the attributes that suggests he can be an elite route runner, but he needs coaching for sure as he hasnt shown it on film(not his fault, but the system)

anyone else youd like to add, go ahead.

if all 3 of these guys were somehow on the board when we are on the clock for our 2nd pick, then its hard to envision a scenario where we dont pick one. who do you think the ravens would prefer out of the 3?

how about that fuller kid from notre damn. Hes got tons of speed
    0

  20. if we want to be completely honest here, mackensie alexander has had the most impressive year of all the db prospects. qb's dont even bother with him, his coverage is absolute concrete, hes the same type of corner as hargreaves with less hype because he hasnt had a chance to show off any big time int's. i would be very happy with either of them or eli apple, and obviously kendall fuller in the 2nd and im also coming along on desmond king.

i feel as if ive been saying this for a while now. He really played well against Oklahoma too and seems like a real competitor as he was talking trash to the qb. He ended up being targeted 5 times and only allowed 1 catch. Really impressed me and he made sure Oklahoma knew he was out there, he made sure they heard him and he backs up his talk for sure, showed a swagger i didnt know he had.

Glad to see your starting to like king but i kinda like cyrus jones more now. Hes a great returner and i feel he could become a very good nickle back for us, which would make for a great value pick in the mid to late rounds. Hes a 5 star Baltimore prospect too and ozzie loves bama so i feel he could be our double dipper for db players

  21. Did anyone see the Citrus Bowl today? I just took a look at the Jags forum (figuring most of them are also Florida fans and they'll be looking at VH3) and it sounds like VH3 had a really ugly game - albeit along with the whole Florida defence.

ya he really didnt. Got beat deep biting on a pump fake. Looked totally lost out there at times
