Oh man, this is like my worst nightmare - an amazing draft but with taco poisoning my whole impression of it - he's the one player I'd really struggle to get behind - I've historically not liked some of our picks at the top of the draft before but quickly come around and seen the light

i could probably get past my dislike for virtually any player we pick at 16 but taco I really would struggle with... I just don't see any of it on tape or ridiculous athleticism or anything...

but the rest of the draft is sublime - Hendrickson and Stewart are great mid-round pickups if they fall that far - could definitely see Stewart going day 2 (and maybe Hendrickson as well but more likely round 4 for him) but I have no idea about kirsch at all lol

Lol Im glad you like the taco pick 😆

I put Kirsch there because i know the ravens are good at finding guys we never heard of. He seems to be a good player, first team all fcs RT which is something we need. Still cant find any tape on the guy though

I'm pretty confident that it's a reputable historical/sociology/humanities kind of mix of stuff lol but that's by the by

what makes you think his iq is low (not challenging - just asking because I've seen nothing obvious about it in the media)?

This might make you like him more but Ill just share it anyways.

I would like every bit of it. I don't see Feeney getting to us in the second with many teams that will probably overdraft offensive linemen (Colts, Seattle, Denver, Miami and the Giants in the first) when there's just a handful of prospects worth a top 50 pick. I'd personally prefere Switzer, Dupree, Reynolds and Henderson to Steward (if they're still available) but I'd really like the general outcome. Charlton looks to be a very solid pick and the most important needs may be so addressed.

Have no idea of who Kirsch is so I'm going to give a look at him but with our history in finding a good late round OT I wouldn't be too surprised if we waited till day 3 to ads some competition on the right side.

I think feeney is a 2nd rounder through and through. Theres other guys who should go ahead of him.

Oh and good luck finding any tape on Kirsch. If you do let me know, i just know of him cause my girlfriend goes to jmu

I don't see Desmond King lasting until our 3rd rounder. Especially with how the game is played now a days. His starting point will start in the mid to late 2nd and will probably be gone by the end of the second.

I have no doubt that if he lasts until the GB-PITT-ATL-NE corridor in the late second, he would not make it past them all.

Idk with all the other CB/S hybrids in this draft i think he would last. kevin King, Adoree, Awuzie, and peppers are those kind of players and I think they all go ahead of des king

That feels like a bit of a lazy comp to me, no offense. Oakman played heavy footed, upright, slow handed, and made zero effort at using any kind of technique. Kpassagnon, while very raw, is light years ahead of him imo. His hand usage and bend and leverage are way better

like i said i wasnt doing a player comp. I just dont think he has a future in football

  6. Round 1- Taco Charlton

Seems like every year we draft a player that would disappoint a lot of people on this board (myself included) and Taco is that guy this year. I think he will be very high on our board and there hasnt been a lot of speculation towards him so i tried to avoid any smoke screen with this pick. Oh and when asked who was the best Dlineman Ramczyk went up against he said Taco and said because of his quickness and polish lol. Thats high praise to call a 6'6 277lb man quick.

    Round 2- Dan Feeney

Hes been relatively quiet but I'd love this pick. He can play anywhere imside and automatically makes our running game stronger

    Round 3- Ahkello Witherspoon

once he gets to an NFL weight room he will be a stud. Love the player and the person, he has a very interesting background and wants to be a doctor after football.

    Round 3- Desmond King

Probably my favorite player in this draft. Everyone here already knows enough about him.

    Round 4- Ardarius Stewart

If there was ever a reciever who "plays like a raven" this would be the guy. Classic Ozzie pick

    Round 5- Tre Hendrickson

underrated pass rusher. Could have a big impact like judon. Great motor and athleticism.

    Round 6- Mitchell Kirsch

Could probably be an undrafted FA but ill put him here. 1st team all fcs right tackle for JMU

kazee's a good one but i cant pound the table for him because he feels too boom or bust and im not sure which way it will go - likewise rasul douglas - i love watching them both on film but their play style gives me pause

I think kazee's competitiveness will keep him in the league. Thats my favourite trait of his. He showed a ton of it at the senior bowl. The passion and desire he plays with will keep him from being a bust.

You guys really need to go back and take another look at the tape and re evaluate him completely. Take all the things you think now and throw it away and watch him with a new perspective. Thats what happened when i took a second look at him. Oh and make sure to watch his notre dame tape when he goes up against 2 future first round picks in mglinchley(idk how to spell lol) and nelson

I've now seen a worse mock for us than Chad Reuter's.

    PFF's Steve Palazzolo's 3 rounder.... ugh.

Rd 1: Carl Lawson.... with Malik Hooker on the board.

Rd 2: Jabrill Peppers.... w/ Cam Robinson, Garett Bolles, Dan Feeney, Kevin King, Awuzie, Witherspoon, etc....

Rd 3: Mack Hollins, WR, NC??? Bc of his "blazing speed" that we love so much.

I know some are really high on Lawson. Love his potential but not at 16... and especially if Malik Hooker is just sitting there. Fournette was there still too.

I want no parts of Jabrill Peppers.

And i honestly have no clue of Mack Hollins. 1st ive heard of him, period.... let alone as a 3rd round pick for us.

Im a big fan of peppers so him in the second round is a steal, but the other 2 picks are staight aweful

Im not that big on Conley. Theres one thing that always comes up on his tape that really pisses me off. He never and i mean NEVER puts his hands on recievers. He always gives the reciever a free release at the line if scrimmage and im afraid that wont fly in the NFL. The recievers often get 2-3 yards seperation at the break of their route but either becuase of a late throw or conleys impressive closing speed it ends up being incomplete. I just really wish i could see him jam someone at the line of scrimmage. He never seems to do it, and with the timing of passing attacks in the NFL i think that seperation could get him in trouble

For me the only one I'd throw a fit about would be taco charlton - I'd be pretty unhappy about John Ross too but would begrudgingly drink the kool-aid

Ya i wouldnt be happy with taco. I like ross so i cant go there lol.

I def wouldnt be happy with cook. Either way i dont think we make that pick anyways

Edit: i hate to say this but taco might end up being our pick. When a lot of people dont like the prospect he ends up being the pick lol

I think Jacksons a lazy comparison just because they are both fast. He offers a lot more than him imo.

Trade back pick up and extra 3rd and take him and id be very happy

Ya i agree. I dont really like comps much. But if i had to make one thats who id chose. I only said that cause he was comparing them to our draft busts

I'm not a fan of Ross, especially not at 16. When I look at his film, I see glimpses of Taylor, Clayton or Johnson. 3 highly ranked WR;s in the same mold that we wasted picks on.  At some point, the team needs to make better WR selections in the higher rounds imo.

Idk when i see ross' tape i see a more refined desean jackson. The only thing i worry about is his durability.

I think he's exactly the type of profile our FO likes, basically a DE build with strength and explosiveness that can still play from a two-point stance. Also a great character and leader, so that's a big plus. And of course he did very well at the Senior Bowl. Not sure for a 2nd round but if he's there in the 3rd he's a great bargain.

Im just worried the patriots would want him at 72

What about Tarrell Basham? He seems to be getting some love lately and looks like a guy who once in an NFL strength and conditioning program and with some coaching on hand usage could be something...thoughts on him (anyone)? I have seen his draft value all over the place. Really like his motor and size/quickness combo

I really like him. Hes a guy id like in tge 3rd round for sure. He has a good sense of humor too if you saw the youtube video the school made. Plus hes got an awesome name

Theres also the very real possibility that we've met with several guys but its gone unreported... informal meetings with guys at combines, pro days, Sr bowl, EW shrine, etc...

Plus we still have more formal visits available.

Not only that, im sure theres certain guys we're 100% on in our evaluations from tape. A guy like Mack who were ready to trade a kings ransom for to move up and get, i dont believe we ever had a reported meeting with.

Barnett is a guy who is polished and its obvious on tape, has the production, and by all accounts in an extremely hard working and likeable guy off the field. If they feel confident in that evaluation and his placement on their board, no need to waste a meeting or put people onto the scent.

Decosta did say a lot of visits are smoke screens and that some player visits that have been reported were never true to begin with.

But it begs the question... did you just watch the tape for the first time in the last week? And if not, why all-the-sudden is he a darling for pick 16?

The tape has been the tape since the season ended.

I guess i fell victim to the questions about character and lack of production. Also looking at draft pundits and their opinions on him and where hes projected in mock drafts made me dismiss him as a target for us. Sometimes you look too deep into a prospect and forget about the tape and need to look back at it. Its a common theme to be honest
