  1. Decosta did say a lot of visits are smoke screens and that some player visits that have been reported were never true to begin with.
  2. I guess i fell victim to the questions about character and lack of production. Also looking at draft pundits and their opinions on him and where hes projected in mock drafts made me dismiss him as a target for us. Sometimes you look too deep into a prospect and forget about the tape and need to look back at it. Its a common theme to be honest
  3. Well in all fairness the 3 that i know are on the mcdowell bandwagon atm is @JoeyFlex5 @rossihunter2 and me, and we all watch the tape. And maliks tape does not lie
  4. Lol i may have started that.....my bad lol
  5. So. Alll hes paid to do is play football. Ray lewis didnt have a very good wonderlic score yet that didnt matter. He doesnt really play a position where you have to be smart lol
  6. Just going back and looking at the tape again. Also because voch lombardi seems to love him so we brought him up again and his character ussues dont seem to be as big an issue as everyone makes it out to be.
  7. Lol that's really funny. To be honest Malik did sound high but maybe that was just through the phone lol. He did say hes not playing for the money. So maybe he does love the game
  8. Ya man it's a crazy film to watch. Im honestly kinda hoping we take a chance on this kid. His film says top 5 pick Edit: not even "kinda hoping". I want Malik McDowell at 16.
  9. Voch Lombardi had a phone interview with Malik McDowell lol. It's on YouTube He's also the guy who mocked him to us
  10. The reason he didn't have the production you'd expect is because of the way he was utilized. He was often used as the 0 tech (nose tackle) because nobody on Michigan st could eat up blocks. That combined with the fact with his constant double and triple teams, he was the only player opposing teams had to focus on. His film speaks for itself. Dont focus soley on production, it doesn't tell the whole story
  11. I can't find much tape on him. Hes super competitive though. he best tackling corner I've seen in a while is Marlon Humphrey and it's not even close
  12. Lol he's definitely not afraid of contact. He just doesn't know what to do with his hands
  13. I really like takk I think he has great potential. All he needs are a couple disengaging moves and he's a 10+ sack guy. Hes not as stuff as some make him out to be, he his needs to be refined. Very refined. But he could come in and be an edge defender and interior rusher for now. Guards will have issues with his length and quickness. Then mold him to be the grit to suggs, that's my idea of what to do with him
  14. Ya but takk has no disengaging moves lol. Although I will keep my eye on that Stanford tackle.
  15. There's a video of a guy showing a reach block he made on his tv. He's a great fit in the zone blocking scheme and he gets out on screens very well One tape I'd recommend is his UCLA tape. He did a stellar job vs takk McKinley which is funny because that was takks monster game but it was never on Bolles side
  16. I mentioned him as a trade back option before. I like him, he's very athletic and can make some amazing reach blocks on screens and such. Matches the zone blocking scheme very well. I posted a video of his story before, its really interesting and honestly wouldnt surprise me if we took him....maybe because he's Mormon lol. Also he's 25 so we might need to take that into consideration but I like the player and the person. In a weak oline class I wouldn't be mad at the move but I'm not sure if we could trade down past Denver and still get him. I think he fits best as a RT over the other 2 you mentioned and personally I like him better than Ramczyk
  17. I'm really liking the idea of us taking him. He'd help our pass rush dramatically and give us one of those generational type talents on our defense. He's a guy you have to scheme against IF he lives up to his potential
  18. Ya that's it. He gave them fits all game.
  19. Awesome job updating this. I was just about to say we had a private meeting with Tim Williams. Probably just Ozzie saying hi to his Alabama buddy lol
  20. @rossihunter2 @JoeyFlex5 I think we convinced someone on McDowell. All of a sudden he has a vote for preference and prediction. Lol
  21. Ya I agree like I said i was probably nitpicking. Just makes it harder to evaluate him off the feild this way
  22. Ya he was the backup but hey it's still a connection.
  23. Nope nobody voted for him. If I re voted though I might have put him as my "prediction" pick. Preference wise though I still think I'd pick Oj Howard lol, that's my guy
  24. Ya I just watched his interview for the 2016 media days. I mean I get that he doesn't want to be interviewed (it's pretty obvious) and that some people don't like it too. However, having said that, he just seems very lacksidadical, quiet, and just seemed like he kust woke up lol. He kept touching his face with his fingers constantly which shows he feels uncomfortable. I just want him to sound a little more upbeat. I might be nitpicking here but he's playing football and got a full paid scholarship, he could act a little more excited I guess....idk..its just very sleepy or something to say the least. I can see the concerns of him being "unmotivated" or not a "self starter"
  25. Ya very true. Bosa did not interview well lol but I think McDowell is a bit different in that regard. Now to your question above. In that scenario yes I'd take Malik McDowell, I think his tape and potential trumps nkemdiches and his character was more concerning than maliks. I'm more worried about maliks motor and work ethic than I am his character at this point
