you must be on one. Neither one of them have to be behind either. Arrington will play the slot. But if that was the case I assure you our highest paid corner that we just extended would be infront of Arrington.Behind Jimi Smith....hell no...Smith will behind arrington, for sure. He is good!
well that's takes away the whole concept of the post- evidentally the texts had the "insinuation" of profanity even though it was censored- I copied and pasted the texts and didn't even think about it bc of its context ... Guess I'm gonna have to be more carefulJust thought id reiterate this- pats tryed to explain that calling McNally the "deflator " was a reference to his weight - yet they didn't explain these texts : After the Patriots played the Jets on Oct. 17, Brady was furious about the inflation level of the footballs and complained to Jastremski. Jastremski and McNally, who was upset with Brady's criticism, then exchanged the following text messages during the three days after the game:
Jastremski: Can't wait to give you your needle this week.
I'm sure that's kind of the plan. Get him back as the starter by midseason or so. I never once counted him out. People are skeptical and worried but he is a huge asset to our team. I hate to sound selfish bc I do care about his life after football but this team needs him- Maxx is such a young pup and needs pittas help to really make the transition. Crockett helps too- but pittas experience and the fact that he's one of the only players left from the Super Bowl squad is really important.I think they should slowly ease Pitta back into action. Have MADMAXX and Crocket get the start but bring in Pitta behind those goes to get his self acclimated. I think once he shows good signs, pencil him in as the full time starter along side MaXX
Absolutely loved episode 3 of the wired rookie camp. Was great to see perriman and Waller working together. I know it's a real cleshay thing to say but I honestly can't remember being this excited for an upcoming season- and I've been a fan for a long time. The only time that comes close was after the 2011 season, the way it ended just left a really bad taste in my mouth and I knew for a fact we would be back for redemption. Now I feel the same way this year - except even more excited about our new additions , and the fact that we got so much younger will have us set for years to come. I am pumped!
Checkmate. As soon as the Ravens add the vet corner I have always expected they will it will be another checkmate offseason.

I've got faith in the man! He's gonna come back fresh, and with our new additions he will be able to stay that way throughout the season
the only thing I'm worried about is him being so young. I have no doubt he will have success in this league - but he's barely 21 and it might take 3 years or so for him to really mature into a strong player. However it pitta comes back even at mid season we won't need him to do too much and he can really learn and blossom behind him.i think people may be putting too much stock into maxx williams. i am ecstatic about the pick and i think he'll become a top flight pro bowl TE, but he doesnt have the luxury of great speed or size to give him something to lean on while he adjusts to the pro game mentally and technically. i think he has about 30-35 catches as a rookie and ill give him 4 td's, and i think he makes a major leap in year 2 doubling his production. TE is a tough position to learn in the nfl
Welcome to the good guys.
well obviously enough people thought it was unethical for them to make a change- I think that's all that matters when it comes to that . I agree with you on the fact that they didn't do anything "illegal" .. The way they took advantage of the situation is what other ppl could possibly perceive as shady- bc they noticed the referees were all discombobulated and they capitalized by running a hurry up offense. Can't really blame them. However I can blame the officials- that is who my beef is with. Not only were they not standing over the ball and properly notifying the defense of who was eligible/ ineligible until about 5 seconds before the ball was hiked( which the hand signals are exactly the same- and a change was made before the Super Bowl ) but they couldn't even offer harbaugh an explanation of what was going on without giving him a fifteen yard penalty . Ofcourse harbaugh didn't want to waste a timeout to get a simple explanation ! That timeout could have been crucial in the final minutes if the game. In hindsight you can say he should have called one- but that's hindsight. Also I hear pats fans always coming back with " they clearly announced who was eligible over the loudspeaker at the stadium and they still couldn't figure it out and blazay blah" - you try making out an announcement in the heat of a game with thousands of screaming fans - with a helmet on- while simultaneously trying to get the defensive play , make substitutes , etc. I'm not one of those people who thinks that's the reason we lost- however I don't blame it on the secondary either. Obviously it was a combination of things - a major one being the iffy play call to throw the ball to Torrey on first down with plenty of clock to burn - when we were marching down the feild with momentum. All we had to do was run the ball with Forsett a few times and milk the clock. Even if Torrey caught that ball- Brady had plenty of time left to put a drive together- so all in all it was a poor play call- I can understand it, but wouldnt have done the same. All of that said- it's one thing to be objective and another thing to come off like your not even a ravens fan. And don't act like some of us aren't objective just bc we aren't going with the "against the grain" argument where you do the unexpected and debate the other side. Just bc some of us are doing the "expected" and happen to be defending the ravens doesn't mean we aren't being objective just bc we are fans and we don't agree with you. I know how to play devils advocate- but sometimes you just have to go with what feels right. The patriots have done quite a few things that were unethical- and yes ppl have differing views of what unethical might be- but when the majority feels the same way that pretty much says it all.Not everybody knows they were unethical, because again, ethics are subjective, meaning that by definition, not everybody agrees upon them.
I can promise you that precisely ZERO Ravens fans would be accusing their own team of being "unethical" if we did that to somebody else. We'd be praising our coach and team for "being smarter than you", just like the Patriots did.
I'll never be the kind of person who blasts other teams for doing perfectly legal things to win a football game, merely to make myself feel better about a loss.
The makings of something great is there no doubt- all we have to do is stay healthy and execute. With the young talent we just brought in we could really have something special here for years to come.
everything you say makes sense - it doesn't necessarily mean we will be productive - but it doesn't mean we won't be even more productive than last year either. They might be unproven - but undoubtably the potential is there. You may not be confident in our offense - I am. I believe joe will bring out the best in these guys and that this will be the year he truly elevates his game and has the numbers to back it up. All he has been missing is a few big body targets and some guys that will make YAC. The last time we had Dennis pitta for an entire season was the year we won the Super Bowl. I think it was pretty clear that was his favorite target and his absence really left a void. The departure of Anquan didn't help either. But with what we have now - combined with joe having another year of experience under his belt to improve physically and mentally - paired with trestmans style of offense to really let joe just sling the ball down feild - amazing things can happen. Sure there's always a chance things don't start out well - and injuries could stunt things - but until that happens I'm Hoppin on the optimistic bandwagon and I will ride it all the way to Super Bowl 50 baby. I also firmly believe that what we saw from Forsett was not an abberation. I saw this guy throughout his career- and when he was behind marshawn lynch in Seattle I could tell he had the potential to be a star if he wasn't in the shadow of another. All he needed was a shot and he capitalized. Now if he gets injured that's another story. I'm not sold on our backups at the position- although I think buck kind of reminds me of BP during our 2012 postseason run. Injuries can always change things- so let's just try to make it through camp before we get too excited- but if we stay healthy- I think we have an extremely good chance to be Lombardi contenders .Yeah we added some offensive players, like we should have. But right now, we really don't know a ton about our offense at all.
We know we have Joe, and we're pretty sure we have a solid O-line. Do we know for sure that Forsett will be a great back again for us with a new OC? I don't.
Do I have supreme confidence in our passing weapons? Not really. You could argue that Perriman and Williams might be our most "talented" pass catchers and they've never caught a ball in the NFL before. They could both struggle heavily in year 1, and it wouldn't surprise me nor should it surprise anybody else.
Our offense, particularly given we have yet another new OC, is still a pretty large question mark if you ask me. There's talent and particularly young talent, but that doesn't necessarily translate into production.
I thought this was kind of funny- article about the explanation the pats came up with for some of the strange texts. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/patriots-absurd-explanation-why-employee-161111297.html
agreed!Yea TDs are definitely more memorable then a 17 yard catch. Marlon had like 5 catches in the Patriot game but i can't honestly remember any of them but Aiken's lone catch was a TD so i clearly remember that. Here's a nice article on the impact that Marlon had down the stretch last season and to me it shows why Marlon is being looked at to have a big year. He's so consistent and a play maker when given a chance. That's exactly what we need opposite a dynamic WR(hopefully) like Perriman.
Also i heard something that didn't make much sense to me about Marlon's lack of TD production. Someone either said it wrote that Brown didn't have a single redzone target last year. After having such success in that area as a rookie you would think he'd be a favorite target down there. If that's true i definitely think it changes this year.
that's a tall order for jimmy - but if anybody can handle the task it's him if he stays healthy.Coverage assignments:
Jimmy Smith - Best/tall receiver (Demaryius, Amari Cooper, AJ, Antonio Brown, Torrey, D. Parker, Larry Fitz, Baldwin)
Lardarius Webb - Nifty, savvy veteran receiver (Boldin, Stills, Baldwin, Jennings, Kearse)
Kyle Arrington - Shifty slot receiver (John Brown, Sanu, Wheaton, Jarvis Landry, E. Sanders, Keenan)
Rashaan Melvin - Tall receiver (Martavius Bryant, Michael Floyd, C. Latimer, Bowe, Quick, Chris Matthews)
Asa Jackson (Depth)
Tray Walker (Depth)
Will Hill - Receiving TE (Jimmy Graham, Antonio Gates, Jordan Cameron, Heath, Lance Kendricks, Julius Thomas, Eifert)
Kendrick Lewis - Roaming the backfield
upshaw Is really gonna take off this year- esp this being a contract year- he's really gona push himself and take that next step. I think zadarius will also have a strong first season. Also kind of thinking buck will kind of be our 2012 Bernard peirce from the postseason. That's what he reminds me of. Not sure about tray walker but I will reserve any judgment until I see more- haven't seen enough.Upshaw has sledge hammers for hands!
My goodness if the guy could learn some pass rush moves and get some quickness and flexibility in those hips he really could be an effective pass rusher.
Unfortunately I just don't think it's ever going to happen. He's the next (or current?) JJ. He'll never be a household name with gaudy stats or probowls but his value to the team and organization is huge.
Play Like a Raven.
me too buddy, me too. It's gonna be a beautiful thing.Baltimore on the 5 yard line with a 1st and goal. They line up 4 wide with Waller and Perriman on the right (Perriman inside), Brown and Williams on the left (Williams inside). Forsett the lone back to block and/or be a check down.
The defense panics as they all realize they won't stop this TD.
This is what I look forward to this season
It may be just me but I have a hard time trusting any player coming from New England . For some reason in the back of my mind I just have this notion that bellechik sent him here to steal our signals and be kind of like a double agent and then get cut on purpose like legarette Blount and report back to New England before the postseason. Lol I'm kidding ofcourse , but I wouldn't put anything pass them jokers.
In a matter of 3 weeks oz has gotten almost all fans to go from being "skeptical" to pretty darn confident in this roster. I mean seriously- a few weeks ago we were all talking about how thin our WR corps was- and now were pretty much set and trying to figure out who's actually gonna be the odd man out. We had a very questionable situation at tight end with pittas injury and the lack if experience with Crockett and supernaw- and in one stroke Ozzie takes care of it with flying colors. And finally the last real weak spot on the team was the secondary and he makes a pretty big pickup with a veteran corner and suddenly things are looking really good. I know some of you think it was just an easy common sense pickup and that Arrington kind of just fell on our lap- but a lot of things had to happen for things to go so smoothly . If we hadn't worked out those deals with jimmy etc. our cap situation wouldn't be what it was now- and another team may have outbid us. I'm sure we weren't the only team interested in his services- and I'm pretty sure New England actually was going to try to bring him back as well. This is just one if those times we need to truly appreciate our general manager. I know we still have some work to do- but like him and John said- they're not done yet.
I see us coming out week one and completely obliverating Denver., embarrassing kubiak and making Peyton question his decision to return another year. 38-14 , flacco throws 4 Tds - Forsett/ buck run one in and tucker knocks one through. Jimmy and kendrick both pick off Peyton. And we sack Brady 4-5 times. Lol I know predictions are stupid - but I whole heartedly believe we will crush Denver. Making a statement to start off the season- the ravens ain't playin.
I guess I didn't really notice bc most of his catches were all pretty spread out- I almost can't remember a single game he had over 3 catches. Also it's easy to remember Tds bc that's what wins games . And since marlon caught so many in his rookie year I guess it was just suprising to me that he didn't catch any all year. That said I like both of these guys- no need to compare them bc they are both ravens, and hopefully both make the team. Just like harbaugh I expect marlon to have a big year.I gotta disagree with you on this one. During the last 5 games including the playoffs Aiken had a total of 4 catches for 36yds 2TDs. Brown in the same 5 games had 13 catches and 141 yards. He definitely finished the season stronger then Aiken imo. No matter if it's a opportunity thing or not, Brown certainly had a stronger finish. But i agree that Aiken came up big in his opportunities. 2 of his 4 catches were TDs.
no but they will line him up there occasionally just to switch things up.That doesn't mean he will be used as a pass catching tight end or that they envision him as a tight end .
I somewhat agree- but just bc the injury bug hit us at cornerback last year doesn't mean it can't hit us at wide reciever this year. I agree I don't think carter and camp both make the team - although I wouldn't rule anything out. I disagree with your assessment on Aiken - and I don't know how you figured marlon finished off the season stronger than Aiken? I didn't really see it that way- I saw Aiken coming up big for us all throughout the year with the minimal opportunities he had. However I don't blame marlon for not being as productive either bc he wasn't utilized nearly as much as he should have been. I see Aiken as a solid number 3 guy as it stands now- we"ll see how everything shakes out after camp. Somebody's gotta want it more - and I'm interested to see who really improves over this offseason and takes the next step- bc marlon and Aiken definitely have that opportunity infront of then. We can't keep em all- and like I said earlier we could use one of them as trade bait to tighten up other positions.I guess I disagree with a lot of people. First, I don't see how they keep 7 WRs. After all the injuries in the secondary, there's no way they don't go into the season with as many as possible, just in case.
Second, Carter and Campanero will not both make the team. Let's be honest, there's no way they both see the field. Maybe one of them becomes the return man but at the same time, it could be Asa or some other player we haven't signed yet.
3rd, how are people big on Aiken and down on Brown? Aiken was hot to start the season, Marlon was injured. Marlon was hot to finish the season, Aiken was healthy. Both finished with very similar numbers minus the TDs, but the guy that finishes strong (Marlon) almost always has the advantage going into the next season. He'd have to flop completely. Don't be surpised if he starts bye week 3.
So excited to see how this guy pans out- he just seems like one of those sleeper picks and i think we may have struck gold. Also excited to see how they use him. Will be interesting to see him line up at tight end in the redzone and cause defenses to panic. Ahh I'm gonna love it

Some of y'all are quite disrespectful. I'm not going to actually hope for him to retire- I want him to be happy and play the game he loves. Only thing I'm gonna hope for is for it not to happen again. If he can't make it back on the feild that would be ok too- but I'm also not going to insult his intelligence and act like he doesn't know what he's doing.
