  1. Got a strong feeling we are going to pick up 2 veteran receivers post draft- one of which will be Boldin. That combined with a Wr in the draft from the top 3 rounds( Williams, Davis , Kupp, Zay , Juju ) and we will be just fine. Y'all better stop sleeping on Perriman.
  2. then Barnett will be a Raven.
  3. I'm not real savvy as far as scouting guys and what not but I definitely know these two guys are on our radar. I think that Decosta might believe we can trade back into the early 20s and still land Tak too. Would be a gamble but genius if it worked. Plus either way there will be nice alternative options there if it didnt... Feeney- Conley - Wilson- Harris- White- Williams. Could even trade back twice and then take Watt and wreak absolute havoc in the 2nd & third. A lot of depth and talent in those rounds. We could take Pocic, Zay / Kupp, Moton, And still get a top graded corner and have our pick of the litter. That would give us a potential 6 picks in the first 3 rounds. And don't forget about the now early third we got from moving jernigan. We can do some real damage if we play it right. We currently have ALOT of roster spots to fill too so I think we will be doing a lot of moving around- back and forth.
  4. Absolutely not- first of all Ross wouldn't even be a consideration. In this particular scenario I think Davis would give us some initial pause - but Barnett would be the pick without question.
  5. I still like Rasul Douglas and Kazee. I also think we need to add some real height and get an outside corner though.
  6. BINGO!
  7. Thanks I knew I probably botched it. But yeah there's something to be said about him earning more playing time like you said- I mean he wasn't going to be playing over Orr the way Zachary was playing- but had Orr not balled out like that Peanut could've had a nice season last year. Now that Orr stepped down I believe its his time. Don't get me wrong I'd LOVE to see KC step up- but I think Peanut ( lol much easier to spell) literally man-handles his way onto the starting roster. We need some guys that will strike fear in our opponents and play a little nasty. Not quite like Burfict - but you get the idea.
  8. I think Barnett is at the top of our list of players ( that atleast have a possibility of dropping to 16) unfortunately I dont think he will make it. I'm almost positive that it will come down to these 6 players one way or the other: Derek Barnett- Corey Davis- Mike Williams- Reuban Foster- Haasan Reddick - Tak McKinley Ofcourse anything can happen and a guy like Lattimore or Humphrey could be there but I doubt it.
  9. Sorry bud but I just don't see it. Would be a huge mistake IMO. If he miraculously fell to the 2nd then sure. That means he's right in our crosshairs
  10. I understand the concept perfectly.. Just don't agree that his style would be a good fit for our current needs. Don't think he will be on our radar whatsoever.
  11. Yes Onsuwaur. Some of it is just a hunch I'll admit but I like his feirce attitude. Some looked at it as cheap shots and some looked at it as giving his all until the whistle. We need him to take that type of mindset out on other teams. And the coaches seem to have a lot of confidence in him. You heard it here first!!
  12. Trying to decipher through the possible smokescreens; taking into account the FA signings and the performance of prospects at the combine/pro day while also considering our needs- I wanted to create a top 15 board for players we are MOST LIKELY to draft. Top 7 if we stay at 16 and top 8 if we trade back. Its my personal opinion that trading up will not be a consideration for us this year when taking into account how the board is likely to fall and considering the multiple holes we need to fill and the stacked talent in the middle rounds of the draft. It is also of my belief that the CB position which I originally thought was our best bet in the first- will NOT be addressed until the 2nd and probably even third round unless one of the top guys falls and others are also gone. This is due to multiple things that include injury but it mainly involves getting the best value in the first and still being able to land a starting caliber corner later on due to the depth in this particular draft. As you can see I also think a few players who have been recently mocked to us will not even be on our board in the first- including John Ross. Anyway here we go. Pick 16: 1) Derek Barnett 2) Mike Williams 3) Rueban Foster 4) Marshon Lattimore 5) Corey Davis 6) Haasan Reddick 7) Charles Harris TRADEBACK TARGETS 8) Tak McKinley 9) Dan Feeney 10) Taco Charlton 11) Cam Robinson 12) Jabrill Peppers 13) Gareon Conley 14) Ryan Ramczyk 15) Tim Williams
  13. I was with every single word you said all the way up until you said the name Christian McCaffrey...then you lost me along with all credibility. What in the world makes you think he would be a good fit or that he is even worth a first rounder? There used to be a time where nobody would even touch a running back in the first round period. For sure. That extra ammunition from the Jernigan trade will help with that if so. Thank god the comp picks are finally trade-able this year.
  14. Didn't say anything from the presser suggested that. I'm taking into account everything. And who knows he may have specifically mentioned those things as a smokescreen. We can always take a guy who doesn't necessarily fit if we think the natural athletic ability/ skillset is there and think he's teachable. Depends how far we tradeback and who's left- anybody can be a target if its a position of need and the board doesn't fall our way. But that's why I had those few guys near the bottom anyway. For some reason I think if one of the top 3 or 4 guys isn't there at 16 that our major aim would be to trade back for Tak McKinley. Just a strong hunch.
  15. Couldn't agree more about Ross- like I said I don't think he is on our radar whatsoever. His stye just doesn't fit with what we need at all. Hopefully another team needing a speed demon will jump up for him. Ofcourse we expect those other guys to likely be gone but it's a possibility they won't be and that doesn't mean they're not higher on our board obviously. If i was to guess right now who our pick will be after those other guys are gone- I would without a doubt say Corey Davis. You never can tell with Eric. Could be either. I would absolutely not be OK with trading up for Fournette- that would be a huge mistake IMO as he's a big boom or bust guy- right now I'm leaning towards bust and think he's way overhyped. Would rather have cook but due to his history I see us not touching either. We have our eyes on somebody in the 5th or 6th I'm sure. A lot of people disliked my post I see - I'm very interested to see you alls current top 15 board of picks that are actually within the realm of possibilities.
  16. Our young WRs as in all 2 of them? You know we need 6-7 receivers to feild a team right? And you wanted to give up our only current veteran in that group?
  17. Im looking for Perriman , Patrick Onsuwaur , and Matt Judon to take that next step. Waller as well. Would be nice if Zadarius did but as of now I'm just not seeing it. KC is a big question mark. Moore can't do nothing but trend up BC he played god awful his rookie season. Had high hopes for Dixon but that suspension really dampened my expectations for him- hopefully he powers through and provides a spark in week 5 once the team really settles in and we begin to see things shape up.
  18. Several sources saying we are actually very close on a deal to bring back Ladarius Webb. I certainly wouldn't mind if its cheap. He'd be great depth and has always been a team player.
  19. I beg to differ on Detroit being in a better position to win now. We were literally a few plays away from winning the north and we aren't going to miss the playoffs 3 years in a row. And once we get in we tend to play very well- Detroit doesn't- if they even make it. You've got the packers- the vikings- and also the bears who are trending up. If we draft a possession receiver he can still get just as much playing time with or without Boldin- thats up to the coach. Esp if we take a guy like Williams in the first. And either way we are pretty much definitely going to get a veteran receiver regardless ANYWAY right? - or else Wallace is our only real vet. Why not make it somebody who is familiar with Joe and will come super cheap? I just dont see us rolling into the season with a corps of wallace, perriman, and a draftee along with moore. If we do IMO thats asking for trouble. I understand your views on tds and i somewhat agree but Boldin has proved to be strong in the redzone- an area we have severely struggled with. And your right he very well may not wanna come here anyway- but he wants to play closer to his home in Florida- and if he doesn't get any offers from some of the teams down there well Baltimore is atleast a little closer lol.
  20. Its a 1 or 2 year stop gap for likely a very cheap price and doesn't mean we can't draft a receiver ontop of that. ( which we will) ..we usually have 6-7 receivers on the roster. Right now we have 3. 4 if you want to include Campanaro which I'm sure many won't. He's the exact type of big bodied chain mover/ possession receiver Joe needs. We tend to struggle in the redzone which is where he excels. Had more TDs last year than our top 2 guys combined. Not to mention he already has a rapport with Joe- and he replaces that feisty vet leadership void left by steve. So there are certainly plenty of reasons why it makes ALOT of sense. Won't hurt anything to bring him in- he's not going to demand much money at all. He'd be a #4 or #3 receiver at best. A corps of these guys doesn't really stand out - but would actually be pretty solid. 1) Wallace 2) Perriman 3) Draftee? ( Williams, Davis, Kupp) 4) Boldin 5) Campanaro 6) Moore 7) UDFA / Waller?
  21. Thats on you. But besides the fact that it makes perfect sense this is the FA thread and that's what he is. The board probably won't be around by that time if we did decide to bring him back so I am going to discuss it now.
  22. I think peanut is going to be the next udfa to step up and ball out at the ILB position this season. Rumors heating up about potential Boldin reunion.
  23. I think that would absolutely be worth it. 5 spots in the 2nd round might not sound like much but that could make a huge difference in acquiring one of the top guys that falls such as TJ Watt. Jernigan could ball out this year and have the best season of his career or he could be a penalty machine who gets hurt and leaves after this season anyway..with the current state of our d line I'd take moving up 5 spots in the 2nd no question.
  24. I would take mike Williams, oj Howard and peppers off the list. Foster is a lonnngshot but would be one of them ones with a very slim chance to fall to us. I'd actually include Barnett in with foster too- like you said you never know. The rest we won't even sniff unless a gas mask is involved.
  25. Don't like the Ross pick but the rest is cool. We need a pass rusher in the first 3. Albeit We'd still have another comp in the third. For me its pass rusher/ OL in 1 and 2 and CB/WR with both thirds.
