  1. even if any of that is true- I just don't see why you don't think he can't improve on these things? I get that something's aren't "coachable"... But players can shake bad habits, learn new techniques , and just overall get better in general. And who better to learn from than Ingram and SSS. Have some confidence In Your team man. It's one thing to voice an opinion and another to want somebody to fail just so you can be right. Yeah yeah I'm sure you have said you "hope he proves you wrong", its just the way you are so passionately set on him being a failure that causes me not to believe you. Like I said before - he may not pan out to be the next superstar- but as long as he out performs Torrey I will look at him as a major success.
  2. you gotta love it when somebody spells the word "sense" wrong when talking about something else not making sense. Maybe I missed the sarcasm and you were just giving your impression of the writers.
  3. what makes you think we can't still do that?
  4. or maybe the "schedule makers" actually threw kubiak under the bus. If we give Denver a good spanking week one kubiak is going to wonder what he got himself into and wish he never left. I think right now one of our biggest ?s is the running game. Whether Forsetts great season was just an abberation, talioferro still being unproven along with the new addition of buck, and whether trestman will actually stick with the running game and not switch things up. However I think although this is one of our biggest unknown areas- I think this could turn out to be are biggest surprise areas and being the most successful. If Our o-line can have similar success as last year, Forsett will continue to flourish - we have more receivers getting open downfield keeping defenses honest. Even better blocking from our tight ends Crockett and Boyle. Buck Allen is similar to Forsett the way he sees a lane, cuts and just goes after it. I think he will do just fine. He also will have a lot of success catching the ball in the back feild. The biggest unknown is talioferro, and again, I think he could be our biggest suprise. He has came back to camp in tip top shape with a whole new attitude. I think he wil no question be a solid #2 , and may even end up givin Forsett a run for his money. He is very young and could possibly be our star starting running back of the future. I was never a big fan of his last year- but from what I've seen so far I think he may be the comeback player of the year. It's early I know - just a prediction I'm throwing out there. Anyway- with trestmans new offense utilizing the screen game and letting joe sling the ball down feild, I think this also equals big things for our running game. If trestman sticks to our run first mentality and things go well- we are going to be hard to stop, and last years record numbers will be a thing if the past. The blueprints are there - now it's all about execution and staying healthy.
  5. well said. I'm with u man- but like you said its impossible for everybody to be happy. Ozzie went and got 2 big targets for joe in the first two rounds and it's still not enough. Call me crazy but even if we didn't draft max or perriman, I ALMOST would have been comfortable going into the season with just SSS , brown, Aiken, camp . Esp with Gilmore and Forsett catching more passes in trestmans style of offense. I don't think it would have been too wise- but I think we would have gotten by and made do. Look just because things didn't go well in 2013 doesn't mean the same thing is going to happen. Sometimes you need to let the unproven guys step up- that is how a lot of guys become big name players in the first place.
  6. couldn't disagree more. Signing another veteran receiver would be a waste of money IMO that could be used somewhere else. We needed to get younger- and not only did we do that but we got guys with crazy potential and still have SSS to mentor them. With the way trestman utilizes the screen game- buck Allen and Forsett will catch alot of passes in the back feild as well. This is going to keep defenses honest- they are not going to know where the balls going- whether we are running the ball or throwing a screen-and we are going to have a ton Of success with the play action passes. Receivers are actually going to be open this year. We actually have bigger targets for joe- and that is going to result in more success in the redzone. And that's not even mentioning the tight ends; double tight end sets, and even lining up Waller as a tight end just to confuse defenses. The passing game is not going to be a problem this year. I think we might not end up with a 1000 yard receiver- but I think joe easily tops 4000 yards- distributing the majority of them to 3 or 4 guys. I just think signing another veteran receiver isn't necessary- and instead we could find another peice to bolster up our defense.
  7. well what do you know. Looks like it def wasn't an abbiration after all. Had a feelin this would happen - but like I said I didn't want to write him off. Let's hope it's not too severe- but even if it's not, the coaches will be more weary of giving him a roster spot knowing durability is an ongoing issue. Now Carter's got a real shot to prove his worth.
  8. to each his own but I could care less what numbers any of our players wear- all I care about is production!
  9. exactly- that was my point. i think torrey was definitely under rated and under appreciated. if perriman can outdo what torrey was able to do- that will be saying alot in my opinion.
  10. i see what you did there with yanda. lol he def deserved the 2 >>
  11. while i agree with you for the most part- i dont think were "dumping"camp, its just that camp is almost as an unkown as much as carter. true he has some playing time under his belt, but certainly not much. if we can get similar production from carter AND he can stay healthy, it obviously would be worth it. you can have all the talent in the world but if your hurt all the time and not durable it means nothing. with that said im hoping camps injury was just an abbiration- one hammy injury doesnt mean we should write him off for good. so we'll see what happens throughtout camp.
  12. didnt miami have more wins than new orleans last year anyway? ellerbe might end up wishing he would have stayed- i dont see the saints doing much this year- esp after the loss of jimmy. however anything is possible in the good ol nfc south. i also think the whole afc east made signifigant strides this offseason- which is good to finally get some competetition for new england and knock them down a few notches.
  13. Ravens v packers was actually my early Super Bowl prediction. I think you guys will be playin Dallas in the championship. See you there buddy
  14. It may not be as crucial as others- but every position is of importance. Also- ofcourse anything is possible , but I definitely can't see Aiken getting cut. If so it would be a mistake. He clearly developed a report with flacco last year and came through in almost every single opportunity he was givin. Though the number 3 spot is certainly up for grabs - wouldn't surprise me at all if by years end he is the clear cut #3.
  15. maxxxxx just doesn't really roll off the tongue like heeeeeeap. Still pretty cool though. I don't know hearing the whole stadium chanting Maximus would be pretty sweet too. However I don't think you can go wrong with mad Maxx. Simple and to the point- plus makes even more sense with the movie just coming out.
  16. As long as he is an upgrade from Torrey than id say he will do just fine.
  17. I can definitely see the cowboys picking up Ray rice. Infact- I would almost bet on it. Whether he has a productive year is another thing- but def a possibility with their o-line.
  18. well said and I fully agree
  19. I disagree with many of you on his attitude. Some people are just diffrent and don't show their passion like others - doesn't mean it's not there. I personally loved what he said after being drafted in the 3rd round- sounds like he legitamently has a chip on his shoulder. Cleshay I know- but sounded genuine to me.
  20. just curious- do you think perriman will be more successful than Torrey was? That's really the biggest question
  21. I have no doubt he"ll be back. Not sure if he will be starting by week 1 but I bet he will be In uniform. They will start working him in more each week and by week 6 he will be back in business.
  22. This article was awesome - I was literally cheesing the whole way through. I'm a big ping pong guy too- Would be awesome to play tucker or joe. Just cool to hear about them being competitive In something other than football.
  23. he definitely looks like quite a character. i hope his appearence is backed up by his play on the feild.
