  1. Venting! Harbaugh's coaching staff with exception of RB, LB, D-Line is a freaking joke. They don't have the stud players and there inability to prepare young players is starting to show. Look at NE (even though they are cheaters) coaching staff or Pittsburgh coaching staff for example. The Ravens' problems run deeper than O and D Coordinators! With the great players of the last 8 years leaving during different intervals, we now see what this coaching staff in made of and it doesn't look good. Come on coaches! As a Raven's fan I hang my hat on Running the football and playing Defense. That's the Ravens' way.

Is it the coaches or lack of talent? You seem to argue both, which it may be both, but you can't coach a guy to be a better player if the talent isn't there. If we are picking guys up in mid-September, there is a reason they are on the street - lack of talent. With out a salary cap on the coach's payroll Harbaugh has always tried to assemble an "all-star" coaching staff.  I give him a lot of credit for that, he has no issue with letting his guys do their work, a lot like Mr. Biscotti. I still feel that what we are seeing is the result of missing in the draft, missing in free agency, and our cap situation after Ray Rice and Pitta situations.  I did not see this happening when the season started, but every team has its ups and downs. It's going to be hard to watch for the next 9/10 weeks but there is little they can do now to improve the team for this season, and firing coaches is not going to make a difference.

  2. I have thought long and hard about this but as much as I've been an Ozzie defender for years I have to admit that this team's problems start in the GM's office and then trickle down from there. Yes Dean Pees can't coach Defense and John Harbaugh is rigid when he should be flexible and flexible when he should be rigid... I get all of that but let's examine some of the recent front office decisions. Please:

    BAD CONTRACTS

Eugene Monroe, Lardarius Webb, Dennis Pitta, (Jury still out on Jimmy Smith and Justin Forsett)

    WASTED DRAFT PICKS

Sergio Kindle, Jah Reid, Terrence Cody, Tandon Doss, Ed Dickson...

    GOOD PICKS THAT WALKED

Torrey Smith, Paul Kruger, (I guess Ray Rice has to fit in somewhere although that is a whole nother kettle of fish)

POTENTIAL SIGNINGS THAT MADE SENSE BUT WEREN'T MADE

A painfully long list (I can remember yelling at my computer urging the team to sign Brent Grimes two years ago-- they didn't even show mild interest!). I'd like to know if we had the opportunity to get Jared Allen a couple of days ago.

    USELESS SIGNINGS

Marcus Spears, Michael Huff, TJ Houshmandzadeh (to a lesser extent I'll concede)... even Rolando McClain

    BRESHAD PERRIMAN

Oh my head hurts now, I can't do this anymore... but you get the picture by now.

This man is right on, just didn't have the patience to break it down myself. Great points man, I couldn't agree with you more. Also, I am glad Flacco is not on this list, as he is not the problem.

  3. Two softest guys on the team in this picture. I find that more concerning than lack of talent at WR. What happened to "Playing Like a Raven" ? Are we still trying to draft those kind of guys? Carl Davis and Jernigan fit the bill, but not many of our other recent picks do. Both those guys are D-line so if you're playing like a diva you are not going to make it to the league at that position.

  4. It's not Dean Pees guys...

I know everyone wants AN answer to the problems on that side of the ball but it isn't one thing. Dean can't rush the passer, set the edge, cover down field or audible in and out of coverages. We need PLAYMAKERS - guys who understand the situation and while playing within the defense, know when they can take a chance on a route to jump, or rallying to the ball carrier and letting the 2nd and 3rd guy try to rip the ball out.

  5. Is it just me or does that look like John Elway under that helmet??? Maybe that's the plan - PeyPey (best regular season QB in history) QBs Denver to the playoffs then the ol' gun slinger comes out of the box and slips into that #18 for a playoff run...you know Kubiak would be on board with his old starting QB to take the reigns agian hahaha

  6. Big Rig Gillmore is going to be dominant this season. Maxx will be a nice compliment to him this year. Everyone is expecting Maxx to take that #1 spot since he was a high draft pick but 80 is going to take names and ........ all season long. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite players on the team. I think a Gillmore jersey is going to be hanging in the cave soon.

  7. Glad the rookies are putting on a good impression, but it seems to me people keep relegating Crockett to a "blocking" TE. I think he is going to have a big year and lead the team in TD receptions at least for a few weeks this season. If he doesn't have one yet, I think we should call him 'BIG RIG' and have a loud 18-wheeler type horn blow when he scores! BIIG RIG!!!
