  1. i just cant stand L.Webb anymore. he doesnt remotely resemble the physical player he once was. Im praying that Will Davis blossoms here with this team. Also hope that J.Smith gets back to shut down play. He looked scared after Cooper toasted him on that Td. I cant see why the Dbs are playing so conservative unless the coaches just falt out dont trust them to play press coverage. We are seemingly just letting teams take what they want via pass plays and "hoping" that they tackle quickly. Not anything any offense would be scared of...in fact i would think that is what they want
  2. Yanda being out there on a Wr-look was pretty great but Id like to a lot more of Forsett getting throws in the flats comin out the backfield, along with the big Tes setting blocks. I thought i remembered hearing that The QB Whisperer was so good at utilizing the Rbs, esp in the passing game. Our offense to me looks like C.Cameron is calling plays. the lack of effective short slants and hooks on plays is also bothesome. Does anyone else see that its like Flacco is throwing a ton of lob passes in the redzone? He never seems to get to use his cannon for power passes. Its always a soft fade, with a our smallest wr trying to get after it. i find it hard to believe that anyone is scared of this offense. perhaps perrimans return will yield some more creativity. they must have limitiations on the playbook with a serious lack of separation and speed on the edges
  3. i dont think the coaches really trust the Dbs or they would hvae them playing more press coverage and jamming the line of scrim. Jimmy got torched early and seemed to play scared all afternoon. Webb is a non factor and hopefully the new guy i hear is very instinctive i hope he can step into things right away. He finshes plays and has a knack for INTs, not just breakups. Dumervil didnt seem to take the lead or elevate his game, really a big downer imo. This defense was straight defecated on by Oakland. that must change. ppl have this "oh...its early still attitude" but the issue is that even though its early, climbing out of the basement of our division isnt easy and these 2 wks will haunt us all season because we have serious caliber and talented teams that we will pray start losing soon, and it may not happ. losing self destiny this early is never a good thing and that is why so little even make the playoffs when starting 0-2. truly scary to a perennial playoff team that we are.
  4. My God...i really hope that Perriman gets back soon. i hope that he just kicks the doors in. Im so sick and tired of everyone talking all this trash about him, Ozzie, and this team drafting plaryers. They font deserve to be fans here. They dont deserve to be commenting on this team or Breshad...if you read this forum and comments, please get back in the lineup and lace Nfl Networks highlight reel with the stuff that Ozzie and the Brass saw in you. Then i can come back and really lay the wood on all these fake fans in Baltimore.
  5. sounds to me like joe flacco needs to be calling the plays himself. hes been our starter long enough to understand what works and what doesnt. He is smart and knows when to run, pass, playaction and gun sling it. Trestman is a great offensive guy, but he needs to be listening to Joe a little more then the reverse. Joes a winner and he needs the freedom to take the lead. If derek mason could do what he did, our corp of wrs can also. fly routes arent the key with this current bunch. Being physical and burning dbs with double moves and crossing routes is key. open the intermediate game up please!TEs, and Rbs in the flats too
  6. Get your Chins up people. This team will never rely on one man to hold the Defensive unit in place. People said that when Ray Lewis went down yrs ago, when Suggs went down o couple yrs ago, and again when Ngata went down. Everyone preaches "Next Man Up" like its just sounds cool....but that is exactly what it means in Baltimore. We are built and equipped to handle this setback, even if permanent. Upshaw can get back to his native style of PRushing and Z.Smith will be put on the fast track of doing the same...Murdering Qbs in the backfield. Like Harbs said Sunday. We'll Let the elders wrap their wings around these youngsters and coach em up... its business as usual...Division & Playoff bound.
  7. Steve Smith should be back there. Hes got the skill to be effective, just hope they give himn teh blocking he needs to breakout big drive starters for us. Webb also can and has been effective at them. Campanaro, when weighing in the likeliness of injury im concerned with. Hes like fine fragile China and always seems to be hurting somehwere
  8. i think that many are making more of the size thing than really matters. Look, the team needed to make a choice, they said they loved him and they had a hard time making a decision on it. They looked across the division that they play in and they have a LOT of big guys. It doesnt mean that he cant per se, just means that a slightly taller guy will "likely" do better, and based on probability and odds, that is true. Stop making this purely about ignorance. they made what they felt was the better decision, big deal. He is with the Ravens now. And with that huge Chip on his shoulders now,he is at least 5'11". Good for us!
  9. How can so many ppl claim that a guy that went undrafted over all in the the Draft who looked pretty good against 2nd,3rd string defensive secondaries in preseason should be a starter week1? i mean i know many things in life are relative, but not professional football. Bryn Renner and Daniel Brown are not ready for the starting lineup people. That is why Ozzie and Harbs have them on the Practice Squad. Thank the lord we don't publicly vote who starts, that's all i got to say. Leave that to the ppl above our pay grade.
  10. Love hearing Texan fans talk about getting their leftovers. Tom me, doesnt matter who we get a player from, Baltimore always gets the more or the best out of their guys. Its a Balitmore thing i guess. Just like when we lose a player to another team, they never seem to do as well. ...It says something about how this organization runs...again a Baltimore thing.
  11. Dont be surprised to see Ozzie snag a KR/WR in the meantime...
  12. why so many pppl downing Shaub and pretending that having renner on the sideline is a better option. the way i see it, neither of htem will likely see the field of play so it comes down to who can bring more value to the team, and not just being called in if Joe gets hurt, another unlikeliness. Shaub, while he may not look exactly like a guy that wants to be on the field, certainly can help develop Joe in this offense. We were impregnated with Kubiaks West Coast System here. No one knows that system better than Shaub. 2 Time Pro Bowler under Kubs. At least on the sideline, he will be there giving Joe a ton of Cerebral Info and leadership from experience. That is HUGE. while he didnt look fantastic as a backup, he certainly can go out when called on and manage a drive or finish a game, which is all likeliness will be what will ever happ anyway. Shaub is a good investment. Put Renner on the PS and develop him, maybe he will compete for the backup job again after we get whats needed from Shaub. This is a good team strategy and how i understand it to be.
  13. M.Campanaro looked impressive in the past on KR/PR but hes just too fragile and its hard enough to keep him healthy with his current role. Same applies for L.Webb. I think that with Depth at wr Id be okay with S.Smith Sr doing it sometimes. Hes always healthy for hte most part and tough as nails. Outside of the current roster, there will be a lot to choose from in the FA market. So many ppl are already freaking out with the 53m roster, but they dont know what Ozzie is working on in the kitchen...There is going to be a signing, or maybe a couple this week im sure. Lets be patient/calm and let the Brass do what they do. Create another championship team in Bmore
  14. While i do believe that Daniel Brown has a ton of raw potential as a WR in the NFL, i find it really hard to believe that when ppl watch him play against the last strings of the Atlanta Defense that it means that he is a starting WR against the leagues best. I hope that the Ravens at least put him in to development on the practice squad to continue to mold him, but to think that hes a starting guy isnt at all the truth. As far as Perriman...just praying that he is going to be back this week in Denver. A ton of our total offensive scheme, whether passing or Running the ball is heavily reliant on having that deep threat that keeps defenses honest. It will be really hard to get big chunks of offensive yrdge without that element on offense. Come one Breshad...get back in here and ball!
  15. Everyone knew (except pundits and national media commentators)that throughout training camp we had a big battle of quality Wrs that would serve as the#3, #4, #5, #6 for this team. Even down to D.Brown showing up big on thur night. IT was a really tough decision Im sure based on the overall level that they were all playing at. Then mix in the Injury Bugs with Campanaro and co and we complicate it even more because you have to keep guys because of a "feeling" you have. Its a tough job but at the end of the day i have to trust a coach that takes us to the Playoffs almost every year, giving us a chance to get to the big dance. We knew it would come down to this and come down to letting guys go when you dont really want to 100%. I trust our Coaches and Brass to do the best job....as always
  16. Let whomever say whatever they wish. All those things make Flacco who he is...Better! Stone Cold Baller
  17. Shaub seems to me like someone who doesnt even really want to play ball anymore...but, also his value isnt imo as the backup Qb either, first off, he will likely never see the field as Flaccos Backup because flacco is an ironman (knock on wood). But what Shaub does offer, is someone who was VERY successful in this exact type of west coast offense that Kubiak impregnated the Ravens with last year, and an offense that for the most part stayed the same outside of personnel changes. Shaub's value as Joes sideline confidante on the other hand is of great value. He likely understands exactly what Joe needs to be doing and learning as far as this offense is concerned. He offers Flacco a speedier learning curve from his own experience in leading a high powered offese, as he has done for years, 2 probowls etc. Shaub has already recvd the guaranteed salary/contract and cutting him is not an option from my understanding. I too believe that Bryn Renner is a good prospect and for some reason garners a Kurt Cousins type personality that the team rallies around, but if hes never on the field, what good is that. He offers nothing, not even experience on the sideline and Shaub is perfect for that. So im looking at what i think Ozzie/Brass sees, the bigger picture here. What we could use is another stud at RB, and perhaps an addition at WR to make sure that we have depth until Taliferro and Perriman return. Both of which i think are bigger issues right now
  18. Brown is definitely worth keeping. Even if it is primarily Special Teams and on certain packages. His main issue from what i thought, was he had trouble really digesting the LB playbook, which in his defense likely complex as compared to his college style of play. I think that the time spent learning behind some great ones was good for him, and Daryl Smith isnt gonna be playing much longer which makes him a bigger asset. I mean, come on...not everyone can be Ray Lewis or CJ Mosely, we have been spoiled in Balto. Sometimes gotta wait for the blossom.
  19. i wouldnt change anything about how we play preseason or regular season games. Its Nfl Football and you play the game. ITs what you get paid mega millions to do and its a liability and casualty of the sport. Playing less preseason games is only going to set your men up for more injury in season. Muscle memory is important and not prepping for it is a bigger prob in my opinion.
  20. Some fans that we have should just go to Philly or Los Angelos and root for their teams, it would be more suitable for your behavior. Its unreal, and shameful how many ppl here that call themselves fans can sit here and call Perriman a bust, a bum, or whatever. This kid is im sure trying to get back out on the field as soon as he possibly can. He has a chip on his shoulder due to all the critics already, and you just throw him under the wheels because hes missing some practices. Yes theyre important, very very important. But so is getting healthy for the 16 weeks that really matter, matter a lot more. Perriman didnt just learn how to play ball, hes been playing his entire life, he comes from NFL stock. LEt him get his leg together and come give the fans what they want. Stop hating on him because you dont understand his situation. we all would have loved to see what the Brass meant in selecting him, and now is the time to trust the Brass in their decision and stop being brats on xmas morning. We have 16 weeks of a season coming on and this kid is a big part of that. He will get back and be fine. so why all the hate, its embarrassing
  21. Playin Possum a little bit doesnt bother me in preseason. We have nothing to prove. Just stay healthy and come out punching in Denver.
  22. If any one is at all concerned about the season we are going to have, you must not be a Ravens Fan. We will be just fine. Preseason is not a time to evaluate the working machine, but to evaluate the individual parts to see who is going make it, and who it gonna get cut. Relax Fans! To me...this game helped reveal some guys that will not be on the 53m roster. So good does come from games like these. Too bad the many of the Philly fans got it twisted and are seeing it as a season victory. Thats what makes the Ravens and the Brass so great!
  23. While its incredibly sad that this is his last season as a football player. I cant help but think about what this team would've been like had he been a Raven his whole career. Would've been the perfect compliment to the hard-nose Defense we are known for. He brings to offense the style of emotion and competitiveness that R.Lewis brought to Defense. He is a straight up game-changer type baller and i will miss him and his attitude that he brings and we should be honored to have him want to retire a Raven...and it would be awesome to have him formally retire a RAVEN.
  24. My Reaction to reading this article....YAWN
  25. totally forgot we grabbed him in the 4th rd. hope he gets this playbook down and gets some reps. looks to have great mobile size and strength. cant wait to see him form into a raven on Defense
