  1. I agree. Trade back 7-8 spots, pick up a 3rd or 4th Rounder and draft OT Cam Robinson. He's KO 2.0! Will still have stud CBs available with the 2nd Round pick. You can also package two of those 3rd Rounders to move back up into the 2nd for a pass rusher like Tim Williams or Carl Lawson. Hows this trade back look- 1- OT 24ish take Cam Robinson pick up a *3rd and *5th 2- Edge 47 Carl Lawson second round 3- Center- 74 ( Elflein or Pocic ) 3- WR - 78 ( juju smith or Samuel) 3- *CB - ? (Teez Tabor (Sidney Jones) -extra 3rd round pick 4- CB - 4th round- to trade back up using 3 & 4 to get the CB 5- LB- 5th round 5- OL * extra 5th round 6- deep pick LB/DL 7- deep pick S/CB/KR seriously OZ give me Robinson, Lawson, Elflien, Ju Ju Smith, Teez Tabor and I'll settle for Sidney Jones for next year- -go get a veteran WR and RB to help out this year.

  4. The things that we can count on are that the Ravens will be at the draft in late April and they will end up with 6 or 7 rookies. The things we cant count on are, which rookies, what position and even which round at which number. Even Ozzie said, and I paraphrase,- last year we nearly moved down from some of the offers that were out there, this year may be the same but we could just as east move up and get a player if we can make a deal on a player we really like. So its a real crap shoot right now, who knows! They talked an awful lot about receivers but that was what many of the questions were about. I still think one of the following will go to the Ravens - Foster, Reddick, Barnett, Williams, Humphrey or Davis at 16.
  5. Can we be really sure that the Ravens would get one good year out of TJ, they need to play the guys who look to be playmakers. It was either keep Williams and look for equalizing moves or keep using the rotation style line but without Williams. Its obvious which direction the Ravens chose after getting Williams at the high end of a deal. TJ was expendable. One always wonders how deals efect other deals thus will end up 1 to 3 years into the future. One can only speculate. However hands down Williams had the better years. We will see, Pierce, Urban, Davis, Henry, Kafusi those are some strong names to compare to Tony this year, looks like we will get the chance. Kind of tough though TJ looked like he is a rising star. We can only hope we get a little lucky in the Draft, things fall our way and destiny strikes 25 spots earlier.
  6. correction...Ramczyk is RT !
  7. Ravens will probably get a shot at one of the 3rd players in position - Reddick- Humphry - Ross respectively, but should have a shot at the top LT Ramczyk or 2nd RB Dalvin Cook. This will be a tough decision for the Ravens with those 5 players left on the board all look to have great talent, however which one is going to break out in the NFL? (I don't particularly pick Charlton at a #16.) I might take Dalvin Cook RB or Ramczyk LT - I think the question might be who do they really like at 2,3, 3 and 4. - If they have their sites on a OL in the later rounds we may see them pass on Ramczyk. - they may see Cook as another Dixon and not see the value. - Does Riddick fit the Raven pass rush mold ? - Is Ross tough enough, he seems fragile - Humphry looks hot and cold, can he stay consistent it sure would make it easier if one of the top 12 were to slip ( considering 2 QB and TE should go in 15) Williams, Davis, Foster or Barnette would be highly coveted.at 13-16. I think any one of them would be a shoe-in at 16 for the Ravens
  8. I think you have a decent point. if Cook is there with the likes of the lower edge, WR, Cb players I think he is a good pick for the Ravens at 16. The biggest factor is can he start and carry the Ravens as a rookie in the NFL. I just don't have the information to know that. I would say that only the top decision makers will have to decide that. If the Ravens do not take a RB early, I think they should consider someone like Hightower or maybe Hillman in FA. A relatively inexpensive vet, downhill, big guy who can bust into a D line and hopefully get some first downs. I'm just not sure about West yet. He did ok but he needed Dixon to spread the load. He seemed to have trouble with 2nd down, or better put, back to back running plays. With Dixon out, Woodhead will be called on. I really like Woodhead, but he is also not that downhill- bust into the line- type of RB. As far as WR I'm a little less worried, though I think the Ravens pick up at least one WR in the draft and another veteran FA. If the Ravens can get the running game in gear, I think we see Perriman and Wallace both break 1000 yds each. With Pitta, Woodhead, Dixon all around 500. Joe will be right around the 4000 mark once again but he should improve rating, TD and completion ratios.
  9. obviously you certainly don't know the difference, We have a very Good Quarterback. The Ship thing probably was a joke however based on your opinions I stick with what they decide.
  10. as far as receivers I think the Ravens big board rating looks like this order- Corey Davis, Mike Williams, OJ Howard, then John Ross. I cannot see a #4 man on the position list being selected when the likes of top Edge and CB even RB may be there at 16. Edge- Garrett -THomas- Barnett- Allen- Charlton all have position in the top 20 OL- Ramczyk is worth a look CB/S- Lattimore, Adams, Hooker, Humphry, Wilson, Peppers, Conley top 20 the long shot- RB- Fournette and lastly Dalvin Cook, Now I didnt put in the 2 QB's that look to go early, so there could be 2 more wild cards. I would put Roddddddddwess somewhere at the end of that pack. Someone is going to be there.it could be Ross, Charlton, Conley, Ram and Cook out of those who do you pick? I think I would take Dalvin Cook, my order is Cook, Ram, Ross, Conley Charlton at that point I really like Barnett, Humphrey or Williams but I see them as real long shots.
  11. Lets have Oz talk with Tim Hightower's camp and see if he might be a good fit. He has good size, seems to fit well with the Ravens style of play, durable, good price range , age and experience.
  12. Im surprised if Coach's response fell short of the fact that the Ravens will look at many options for running the ball this coming season. It was the weakest part of the offense. Sure Dixon and West showed some signs of improvement and then some signs of not so much. West is risky, 4 games is a lot to risk on a guy who needed a rookie's help to hold him up in his 3rd year. I see Dixon headed in the right direction but my gut is that the Ravens should pick up a downhill brawler and let him bust his way into the opposition. Then use Woodhead and West to mop things up.
  13. Humphry, Barnett, Riddick look to be the most probably at 16 and anyone of them could help the Ravens team. It would be tough to pick which one.
  14. you know I think you are on to something but I have a little different spin on it... I think the Ravens are too utilized when it comes to Offensive playmakers. One guy does this well, another guy does something else well but they are limited in the same position ...that just sets up to expose the offense in personnel changes. I would rather see multiple players largely talented, similar and interchangeable. Examples: -if they commit to Pitta, then we should use Williams in multiple sets who is very similar. ( Boyle and gilmore probably could do similar) -If the were to bring Boldin in that would be great, here I would use Waller to learn Boldin's style of receiving and routes. Though he has more speed, the ability in the slot is much more important if Boldin were to be on the team. ( another idea is to draft OJ Howard for the slot) I think Waller would make an incredible Slot Receiver. - Watch D Woodhead and then Dixon those 2 will exhibit very similar play and they should be able to disguise the play well. I think the Ravens need a Running Back, I do not think West is a good enough RB to be #1 and Dixon is a better Stretch back more like a Danny Woodhead who will be great for the Ravens. Dixon is the future. The Ravens need a clock control Running back. West may find himself 3rd in line. I hope he makes me eat my words. -
  15. I thought Breshad was advancing well last year, he seemed to trust his body more. His willingness to go up and get the football, as well to leave his feet were very good signs. I hope his moves will continue to improve and now being put in the solid starting role, he will be able to expand his talent and experience. Its time to put together the SSsr and Wallace examples that he has been given and use his superior physical abilities to catapult his career. The opportunity couldn't be better for this young man, lets hope he can humbly accept the role and set some records! Wouldn't that be nice. I have a good feeling about this kid and Joe this year. Wallace too, could we see two 1000 yd receivers this season....absolutely possible!
  16. Absolutely agree. A few other things will help immensely- keeping the same OC, just so the pass play and blocking schemes can remain intact. Next improve the running game- big plays and yds per down, first downs and TD's. Reduce penalties and lastly increase time of possession. Do those things and this team has a shot at the trophy.
  17. Lewis at RG that is his Natural position and he can be our lead rushing guard we need him at his strongest position. Yanda and Stanley were the wall on the left side, why even mess with that. Nembot looks to take over the RT job he is a beast! And if the Draft falls right the Ravens should have a pick at one of the top Centers in Pocic or Elflien who would be great additions for now and the future but could stagger at Center with Urschel, Jensen even Skura to get acclimated.
  18. Its not going to be front page Ravens news, Some of us were at the open camp last year, saw him get in the fights, basically get removed from practice and things seemed to go wrong from there. The last place you want to have "on the field problems" is in your own camp, especially as a rookie. The kid had some growing to do, lets just leave it at that. So its a new year, a new beginning and he has grown as a Raven. Its time to earn respect on the field, in the position and show the talent that he has. I think the young player has talent. Looking forward to a new season and good things from him.
  19. Than why don't all TEs loose weight to become WRs so that they cut down on the "wear and tear"? Wear and tear happens to big and small players and it has nothing to do with weight. The guy isn't going to drop weight just because the Ravens need a WR and not a TE. You are getting caught up with the label TE. The Panthers took a WR in the first round of the 2014 draft who was 6'5" and 245. Weight is also not a factor in being a successful multi purpose TE. And this fact is highlighted when you bring up Gronk. He is one of the most successful "multi purpose" (joker) TEs in the league and he weighs 265 lbs. All tight ends do not have his speed. Also, he has more muscle weight, than heavy weight, at least it appears that way. Which may mean he could slim down in the upper body without losing his legs. And yes The guy would do what he is asked if that is what is best for the team and it was a reasonable approach. I don't know enough about his physical make up to really know, so thats that. But it is possible, that I do know. but most times not probable. Traditional TE's are expected to provide a good portion of blocking, and a portion of short route plays. So they do not run up and down the field half as much as a traditional WR. They are often husky, tall and very strong. Gronk is not used as a traditional TE that was my point. However he does not have the speed that Howard has. To expect the Ravens to go the TE "Gronk" way with Howard would be unlikely. They will keep Pitta. So that leaves the Slot Reciever/Slant/ #3 position at huge need. That is why I say make him a WR. Its my opinion, I know Im outside the box. But coming out of college, that is the time to do it, if he is going to do it at all.
  20. So if he commits to drop some weight, he is available at 16 and the Ravens commit to make him a WR day one. I would take the kid. If he improves in blocking and later in his career the weight will be harder to keep off, he could move to TE/Slot/WR Could you see as a play "set formation "- Wallace WR - middle 5 - Pitta TE- Howard SLOT - Perriman WR - Flacco and Woodhead RB (single set ) in the backfield? Some call this a 2 tight end formation and it can be considered that because Pitta or Howard could go in motion and/or move to opposite sides. The difference is having 2 bigger, slower TE's, the Slot receiver is eliminated in most cases. WIth Howard as a Slot WR he utilizes his speed to be a big threat downfield,( aka Boldin, T Davis, Sterling) This is definitely possible. Of course it means Joe has multiple plays at his disposal from this set formation: Quick Run, roll out, stretch, quick line pass, Screen, Draw, Deep crossing and middle slot. This is what NE does, if Garoppolo can do it Joe has got to be able to do it, he doesn't have to be Tom baby In fact Waller is a perfect example of the same hybrid WR/TE/SLOT The Ravens could honestly make Howard and Waller the same type multi Slot receivers, and have this kid learn the playbook heavy to that style of pass play selection. Thus they have 2 Slot/WR/TE who can perform the same exact pass plays with excellent execution. Both can move downfield as WR, that is a big value. it leaves the depth players for the same formation of Moore WR, Waller WR/ Slot /TE, Boyle TE, Gilmore TE ,Campanaro WR/Slot and Dixon RB even West RB. Here in lies the ability to use the bench in disguising the play from the same set. The Ravens need to use the same base formation and adjust on the field to run multiple plays. Obviously using multiple base set formations is a must, however disguising and deceptive ability will be an advantage, this would be just one of the base formations. But hey, guess you are glad im not coach. Are you being serious Frank ? Cmon man this is just not a realistic assessment here. Why in the world would he commit to losing weight? The vast majority of TEs that come into the league need work on their blocking. Corey Davis runs a 4.8 forty. Mike Williams runs a 4.54. OJ runs a 4.51. What would be the purpose behind asking this guy to drop weight. He is just as fast as the top WRs in this years class. And what is the middle 5. it might not be a realistic assessment, some times weight can be adjusted out of college sometimes it cant. It is usually a focus of running backs primarily for the same reason i bring it up about Howard. let me re-state. I think he might make a better Wide Receiver for the Ravens than a pure TE. What is interesting is there has only been a few 6'6" WR reasons- first at 250 lbs+ running the field at that much weight will take its toll. less weight less wear and tear. Also it could improve his speed just a tad. But you are correct he has great speed, now, but will it last. That is why I think he could make a Wide Receiver being lighter. second- The Ravens need a Wide Receiver not really a TE. third - multi purpose use as I mentioned is a possibility. middle 5 being - LT LG C RG RT I was trying to focus on the WR and play calling ability using a Slot receiver that has speed and size. A Gronkowski type of player. Howard could be that type of potential.
  21. Well you open with insult to the one guy who did show us something last season. Sure hype isn't worth the ink its printed worth, however Weddle has put the proof in the pudding on the field. As far as Smith, when he plays he is better than average although staying on the field for the entire season is yet to be seen. Jefferson and Carr have proven history, agreed there is no reason to plant the trophy case just yet, but cutting some dead wood so that there is a better chance for success was definitely needed. I personally like Tavon Young, I think get another young skilled CB and a prospective Safety in the draft adding depth and youth. I would say the Ravens will be improved. I don't mind Weddle handling the proclamations, he has earned it. ps, just one question, if you are the "judge" then why quote useless Cowboy fans?
  22. So if he commits to drop some weight, he is available at 16 and the Ravens commit to make him a WR day one. I would take the kid. 23. This guy needs to lose 15-25 pounds and maybe gain a few seconds of speed. At a 4.54 maybe he drops that to a 4.49. He would be a better suited as a WR in the NFL than TE if he can't block in college he certainly will struggle as a TE in the NFL. I wonder if at WR he could be a Marshal, Fitzgerald, Green, Jones or Jordy Nelson type of guy. But I think he needs to shed some weight. He could make himself one the tallest WR in the NFL.
  24. Weddle looks to step up even more as the key leader on this team. He is the "Ed Reed" type of player that the Ravens needed. It looks like the Ravens team is shaping up for 2017. Each year there are changes, It starts with putting players in the positions and then it all comes down to Game day. Big time players must perform at big time level. Weddle, Suggs, FLacco, Wallace, Williams, Yanda, Pitta, Woodhead, Mosley, Jefferson, Carr, Smith and West are the anchors, they must perform at the highest level. No gaps or low points and it starts with FLacco. Joe better look deep, gain confidence in both himself and his team, be a leader (his best way) and work hard to raise the bar. I hope Weddle can instill some of this as his team-mate The supporting roles are just as important and need to pick this thing up to the high gear such as Perriman, Jernigan, Pierce. McClellan, Levine, Boyle, Gilmore, Allen, Za Smith, Urban, Urschel and all the 2 and ups Dixon, Judon, Young, Stanley, Davis, Henry and all the young players need to improve and move up to NFL high play level. They look darn good so far. Weddle seems to carry this philosophy, example set and work ethic. I think something great can happen when this group plays as Weddle believes. The question is will they? Not just expect, but execute.
