  1. It isn't like Steve decided he didn't like the Panthers chances for getting to the Super Bowl and decided to leave and go to a team that he thought had a better shot at it. They got rid of him ... not the other way around. So "regret" really isn't right word, since that implies he made some error in judgement in leaving the Panthers. He played the hand he was dealt the best he could. But yeah, it would be nice if he were able to have stayed with his team until the end and could go out a champion, but it was not to be. Steve left 2 years ago
  2. I Agree, If this team can ever practice and play under the same coaching staff...maybe they can manage to play together with some cohesiveness. They looked all out of sorts this year. Flacos very words were- "they are a bit confused" Then I have to get them back in the huddle and kind of straighten them out and they are alright".... Changing OC twice in 2 years has been a big deal. Defense was adjusting to Pees making some changes as well. Great Nucleus....Need another over the top Wide Reciever - shut down Corner - need our Sacks (Suggs and fellows) - Ints and Turnovers up - We are back in the playoffs!
  3. Laworfootball? Joe and his agent should look at how other QB's in the league who are trophy wining "Franchise" Quarterbacks do it. The Ravens will keep Joe - FAT AND HAPPY- his family set for life and he will have the key to the city. What more could he ask for? So why shouldn't he sit down, work out the deal that HELPS the TEAM work within the NFL SALARY CAP numbers, to put them in a position to WIN the Super Bowl. What do you say there law....
  4. Arrington, webb, Forsett, monroe, you are dead on! 2 mil in cap space right there. canty and d smith would free up about 4.5-5 mil. and around 7.5 (2017). I still think we can get some value for them rather than just cutting them. I caution tho, Orr and Brown wont cut it as starters. K Lewis, meh I don't want to see him on this squad simply because I'd rather give those limited snaps to Elam or Brooks to see what they got. pitta should free a lot of cap both this year and next. The real question here is.... How much cap space will Flacco clear up? Arrington, Forsett, Canty, Monroe and Pitta all gone. Re-structure Flacco , Webb and a couple others. Net gain KEEP KO at LT and pick up a #1-2 Wide Reciever in FA or RFA these 2 are my coaching recommendations. Now will OZ and the FO do it...lol we will see. Here is my reasoning. For the past umtene years (except for the Flacco deal, which I think they could have trimmed down before the final #) the Ravens have played the "spread the cash around" to find mediocre players. Has that really worked? Sure every once in a while a gem, or they pay a bump premium, or get lucky like the Dumervil deal. But here is a chance with probably a large pool of 3-5 year talented Wide Recievers in the NFL that could be available in the market. Strong young players that have proven experience and talent. Put in the line up now with Steve Smith Sr. will absolutely propel the Ravens to a receiving level of above average proportions. The odds are greatly in that favor. Thus leaving Aiken, who proved his ability and skill as a strong #2-3. Lastly Perriman as the seated #4. With the bench players, draft, URFA, released, walk-ons and even trade the Ravens are set to go for 2016, a core for 17 and further. What if Sr. gets injured? or Aiken or Perriman is a bust? anyone of those 3 things happen the Ravens are behind the eight ball again. I throw out a few receivers for Oz to shop when the calling opens- Keenan Allen (San Diego Chargers), Kendall Wright ( Titans ) Travis Benjiman (Cleveland) or even mid $ on Tavon Austin ( Rams) and there are others as well. suggestions?
  5. So based on this Chart we could give KO a $6.5 mil Raise this year to stay as LT and then another $2.2 Mil next Year. with incentives and build a contract. I say do it. Let Monroe go and give KO the money. take the 2.2 in dead money. We make it up by just releasing Arrington.- next
  6. secondly- who in the heck wants to put the physical burden on Sr. to put up 1200+ yards. Sure he is a superstar, he plays like one, and he might just do it. But lets use him for what he really is, a leader. Bring in a workhorse who will get the yards, Sr will be the man, Aiken and Perriman become even more valuable. Pick the player, pay the money, make the right move. lastly- We can only focus on so much, spreading cash around thinly has not worked. I say try putting what is available bigger in one or two places this year. Use the Draft, late casualties and our deep bench to create and develop this very talented core. WR 6-8 mil , KO at LT we could make a strong offer of 10mil. That would probably be about all we have for big deals. The rest would have to stay equal to last years payroll with Flacco's deal getting re-worked to make the cap. If KO leaves, that actually frees up some money but changes the Front line considerably.
  7. secondly- who in the heck wants to put the physical burden on Sr. to put up 1200+ yards. Sure he is a superstar, he plays like one, and he might just do it. But lets use him for what he really is, a leader. Bring in a workhorse who will get the yards, Sr will be the man, Aiken and Perriman become even more valuable. 8. I like the Ravens looking at a WR FA or RFA this year. I think there are a lot of options out there and could be a good player to make an offer on. lets face it. The Ravens will have to pay a quality receiver to stay anyway, so if the can land a Jefferies, a Keenan Allen or a Benjeman do it. Put a solid receiver with SSSr. and then have Aiken/Perriman as the 3-4. You set the team up for the next few years because Sr is leaving, win the SB and come back for the repeat!
  9. heres the question what if we have our choice Bosa or Ramsey?
  10. I think the Ravens need to consider Buck Allen as a focus in the spring. Must see what this kid can give them. Can he be a Jamal Lewis type guy? maybe...We might need to let Forsett go to gain some $ back. Buck Allen, Terrance West , a Rookie and possibly a walk-on/or cap casualty might be the Ravens running back core. My opinion is Allan and West have un-tapped talent...they need carries and passes, a lot of them.
  11. Agree on all points, add- He would compliment Steve Smith well with his speed and skill set. imagine Defenses having to cover a Steve Smith, Roddy White and healthy Perriman ( or Aiken) when all are on fire....not gonna happen. Add in our solid TE's. Flacco, a solid RB, O-line and there is what I believe to be a solid, reasonably aged, decent experienced, very skilled offense. I need I see might be the OT position.
  12. Absolutely! Trade up if possible but do not trade down. Get a CB! S LT or Pass Rusher at 6 but get a #1 player that will absolutely be an impact day 1. Then use the #2 or the 2 #3's to move things around a bit. There are lots of options out there after round 1.
  13. Trade UP ! get the best Corner we can get !
  14. and when I say excel, I mean excel in the player that is placed at that position over whom currently or is drafted/FA/ or available for them at the position. So maybe it is a player they have now, maybe its a draft, maybe its FA. BUT some decisions will need to be made. If it were me, I would take a few chances, heck why not at 5-11 who would blame you. Spend some money on a 3-5 year WR. Maybe look at a no name walk on RB as a 3rd or PS, secondary trade if necessary to snag a decent developing young LT in the Draft. shake it up ...BUT GET 2 CORNERS!!
  15. The Ravens absolutely need Corners! If they can move up to get one they should do it! get the best corner they can get. In fact get the best 2 corners they can get. And a LB and a Pass rusher and a LT and a WR and a RB. Cause that is what this team needs. If this team does not excel at everyone of those positions it will go 8-8 or lower.
  16. CJ hasn't even proven that he is worth a 1st Round pick yet either. In my opinion from what I have seen from Mosley I think he was worth a 1st round pick. We have yet to see from Perriman and hopefully Elam can get over that hump. He turned heads before tearing his biceps or whatever in training camp. Maybe he will be a nice surprise and prove doubters, like myself, wrong and start next year. It is a long shot but we will see. Mosley went to the pro bowl his rookie year and had just as productive season if not more this season. Mosley needs to improve in the pass coverage...its obvious. Elam is on the fence he may be gone in a year of he cant improve. So guess that shows you how I feel. Perriman needs to play. I say the Ravens will pick up at least 2 defensive backs in the draft.
  17. KO stays...get the #6 rookie Corner! KO leaves get the #6 rookie OT and the #40 pick rookie Corner.
  18. Roddy White for 1 yr with option would be a worth a shot if he is a cap casualty. Jeffery is strong, I like Keenan Allen on a long term deal, if we are really going to make a play for a FA or RFA. put an offer up there and see what happens. Why not?
  19. Im pretty sure that the Ravens could get in big trouble if they franchise KO as a guard and then play him as a LT. Their best bet is to try to sign him to the best contract they can for him as a player. If that doesnt go, then they will have to look to the draft or other places. I think if they can keep him they should up to 8 mil. max. for any year(5 year max). Sign Tucker, Keep Monroe either way, cost them more to get rid of him, unless a team offers something really good. Go get a WR and a CB.Keep as many of the FA/RFA as you can and make the rest work with the Draft/FA/trades/camp this team
  20. Considering Chris came to the team without any camp, I think the Ravens will give him a shot. He should focus on building strength and endurance over the break. Ravens camp is one the of the toughest in the NFL. He will find out, that is for sure. Ravens still need to get a #1/2...like a DeShean Jackson or a Roddy White to play opposite Steve Sr.- spend the 6-7 million! then have Aiken and Perriman as 3-4. Givens, Brown, Clay, Butler and Campinaro all to look at over training camp
  21. Don't quite get a lot of these points. the 4 games played this weekend, 3 of them 0ver 45 points were scored. The Denver/Pitsburgh game two QB's couldn't throw more than 25 yds. The Ravens had problems on all 4 planes this year. The D line was the strongest, often helped out by a fourth DB/DE and often was pretty darn good against the run. The LB core was inconsistent. I think it was primarily because of the loss of Suggs, he is so much the leader of that core that they were often confused as a team, they need to improve in pass defense! CB- we need help ! Safeties should improve now that they have a year under their belt and moving Webb will help. So CB is the focus in my opinion. CB's in Free Agency and CB's in Draft hopefully get us a couple good ones. Improve the coverage by 1 or 2 seconds you will get your sacks!
  22. Ravens will take the LT if they dont keep KO. simple math. They dont have enough $ to buy another guy with more talent than Monroe. So they will take the best tackle available. If KO stays that changes things. I could see them trying to get a pass rusher my making a trade, depends on if they think the WR, CB or Safety at 6 is worth giving up. That probably wont happen until draft day. They might have a contingency plan for it.
  23. Anyone know about Keenan Allens contract? this was his 3rd year in San Diego. I would think he is due. They are looking to move the team so things are going to be disruptive over there. Might be a good time to make a stab at a productive young WR with NFL talent and experience who might even get better. Good fit for the Ravens, good size, good speed, hard to cover, good hands, scores TD's.
  24. Our LB crew had problems covering the inside this year, not sure why. They have speed. Was it a scheme problem? We do rotate our bigger OLB up on the line in certain sets so the Ravens do use a quasi 4-3 formation. as well we should with the size of Za D and Upshaw. Seemed like teams were in our heads all year. Pressure was the biggest winner, when they could do it, I think for the Ravens it is a must game plan.
  25. I would check the price for Keenan Allen, looks like San Diego is moving. His rookie contract is up. He might be interested in a home.
